Art 🖼️ 🇨🇮 Is Côte d’Ivoire becoming one of Africa’s biggest music hubs?
Lately, I’ve been feeling like Côte d’Ivoire is really starting to take over the African music scene, especially in urban music.
Artists like Himra, Didi B, TRK, Dopelym, Team Paiya and many others are getting more and more attention, not only in Côte d’Ivoire but across Francophone Africa and beyond.
Nigeria and South Africa have traditionally been the biggest African music powerhouses internationally. But could Côte d’Ivoire now be becoming the third major force?
I’m curious to hear from people outside Côte d’Ivoire:
Do you feel like Ivorian music is currently taking over Africa? 🇨🇮🔥
Or am I just seeing it this way because I’m Ivorian? 😂
Which African country do you think currently has the strongest music scene?

Art 🖼️ Sharing my work in progress that celebrates Africa
I’m having such fun with this one cause it’s being made in such a way that together, it’s one large painting and alone, it can hold it down as two separate pieces to fill any space.
P.S the scar on her eye is in the shape of this beautiful continent ☺️

Art 🖼️ You can touch my hair

A painting about family and trust. Growing up as a Black girl, letting someone close to you touch and care for your hair, whether it’s taking down braids, oiling your scalp, or simply maintaining your
style, was a deeply personal, trust-filled act. How was your experience?

Art 🖼️ Sharing the finished work from my painting series

Earlier I’d shared the work in progress and now, here’s the finished piece. This finished artwork is called, 'in due time' one of nine paintings representing the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This one represents patience.
The glare was perfect for the gold foil but not so great for the painting so l included a photo of the painting at the end of the video, of how it looks under proper lighting 🤗

Art 🖼️ The struggles of transporting a large painting to an exhibition
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Had to get some help transporting this large painting to an art exhibition I'll be having during the month of December and for context this piece is 1.5m by 2m. I honestly don't know how it all came together but safe to say that I managed and I'm definitely reconsidering painting large works after l've gotten this thing across counties 🥲
Shipping is easier cause I just take the painting off the frame and ship it rolled but I hope the work manages to find the perfect wall and that it gets a home that will appreciate it as much as I do.
Side note: this piece took 5 months to complete 😅

Art 🖼️ Siku ya Mazingira njema! 🇰🇪🌳
Today, Kenya celebrates Mazingira Day (Environment day), a celebration that originally commemorated Daniel Moi (second president of the republic) but was later renamed and repurposed. During Mazingira Day, Kenyans plant trees.
