Adoption Police in India are now tracking criminal evidence on Cardano: New Cardano Foundation case study
We just published a case study on TrivolveTech’s Forensic Management System (FMS), which police in Uttar Pradesh are using on active cases.
The problem: evidence boxes travel from the station to a central lab to specialized forensic labs with the case number written on the outside. Anyone who handled the box knew exactly which case it belonged to, which left it open to tampering at every step. It also undercut the point of keeping the labs independent.
How FMS works:
- The box carries a QR code instead of a case ID, and only the FMS app can read it
- The officer sees the real case ID, the lab head gets an alias, and each lab gets its own sub-alias, with no link between them
- Every scan and result is hashed to Cardano
- Police chose one transaction per data point instead of batching to save on fees
Officers just use a normal app with the blockchain in the background, which made adoption easier for the force.
