I know when things go wrong during a big event like that it’s probably really stressful for you, and to have your print of the 70mm version of The Odyssey not have sound for the first 20-25 minutes was probably not what you had hoped for during a theatre filled with people so excited to see this movie they bought tickets a year ago. I just wanted to pop on here and say you handled the situation incredibly well, despite what the hecklers in the audience were yelling at you, and the fact that you were ready outside the theatre after the show with courtesy tickets and apologies really goes a long way to show great customer service. Also choosing to give away your own free swag from a promotional thing in Vancouver with film strips and a hat before the movie started was just a great way to get everyone even more hyped for the movie. Kudos to you.
Edit: At a screening this afternoon and it’s working perfectly. Don’t worry everyone and to any cineplex employees reading this I’m sorry if my post caused issues. I just wanted to shout out some grade a customer service

I know I can’t exactly say anything personal on behalf of the others, and I’m not sure if you’re here at all, but I can tell you it was super appreciated.
Some of us were new to this so some of us vastly underestimated how much food to bring ourselves, two of us had medical conditions affected by this, and we weren’t allowed to walk to the Tims (obviously) despite it being pretty empty, a lot of us were pretty exhausted and at least the front tables (Us I.Os and the RG.O) had gotten yelled at, at least three times over things that were completely out of our control. Some stations were even understaffed because some people didnt show up, and quite a bit more.
I know the paragraph above may not mean much, but I can tell you the Pizza you gave definitely was appreciated and helped us push through the rest of the shift (and we definitely loved your energy lol)

My friend got sick was rushed to the university and given a cat scan that ended up saving her life. Surgeons operated on her and she is being kept sedated for the next 24 hours and will then slowly be woken up and assessed.
Seeing so many needs all at once and seeing the care and duty they are taking while not getting the pay or support they are due. Seeing how they check recheck and then go back and check again to ensure the best care is being given comforts me as they are under so much stress and constantly busy. Seeing in person and seeing so many families and complex needs being met just makes me more fired up for the next election.
We need to publicly fund our healthcare and education. I plan on making some bannock for the staff and will continue to bring them small thank yous. Any other recommendation of what I can offer hospital staff as a thank you that they may actually use/appreciate? Thank you.

My dad worked at the Valley Zoo for over 20 years and retired from the City of Edmonton almost 20 years ago. He passed away on Friday morning and I needed to get in touch with one of his coworkers at the zoo to let her know, but had no way of contacting her as neither she nor my dad were big social media users. I called the number for the zoo and was put through to a random city call taker. After explaining what happened and that I was trying to get in touch with someone who worked at the zoo and that I only had her first name, she took my information down and said she would call the zoo with my info and that someone from the zoo would absolutely call me back before the end of the day. Two hours later I received a phone call, not from the zoo, but from the lady I was trying to contact, who had been given my information. Unbeknownst to me at the time, she had also retired from the zoo a couple of years ago, but someone at the zoo knew how to get a hold of her and got in touch with her. So thank you to the female call taker (I wish now I had asked for her name) for following through and helping me get this news to my dad's old friend.

Thank you so much to whoever left this note on my car in the parking lot of the Boston Pizza across from West Edmonton Mall. I had noticed my car was driving in a way that felt "off" but was so worried about driving through a big puddle and possible water in the engine that I didn't think to check the tire, despite hitting a curb the other day. I wouldn't have noticed for a bit (I know, I know) so I'm so, so grateful you left a note. If you're on reddit, thank you so much! It's now being handled.

Went to Burger Priest this afternoon after doing blood work since my husband told me I should go somewhere like burger priest rather than stay there to feed our crying 8 month old while he waited still to get his blood drawn. Got there and sat down with baby and got her bottle out, it had leaked into the bottle cap. So starting off already a bit frazzled! Took 30 minutes for her to finish the bottle and during this time i called my husband. He said he wanted me to meet him at home depot. I told him I didn't order myself any food yet because i thought he would be coming to me once he finished and we'd eat there, and i was feeling rushed to get out of there now. After hanging up and as I'm still feeding her the bottle one of the employees comes up and asks if I want fries. I'm a bit confused, she says it's free. I said I was planning to buy a burger and fries after baby finished her bottle, but she told me not to worry about it.
Baby finished her bottle and I had a hot meal, burger and fries, ready for me when she was done. I had a horrible night with her waking up at 4am and wasting 2 hours trying to get her to sleep and having a sleep deprived breakdown, so the free meal was such a nice little gesture on the part of the employee. I didn't catch her name but very thankful for the positive visit!

I can't imagine how many people have been busting their asses today to get out and fix the power for 21 areas in Edmonton. Whoever you are, thank you so much. May both sides of your pillow be cool.

Last night at K-Days, I was sitting on a bench catching my breath and I saw a young kid walk up to a teenager who was carrying a giant stuffed baby triceratops. Kid asked him how he'd won it, and they chatted for a couple of seconds.
Then the teen just gave it to the kid, who was ridiculously happy to get it.
If you are that teenager (or possibly young man) thank you very much. It was absolutely the best part of my day.

I am not about to walk out in front of your truck with my children until you come to a complete stop!
If I can touch your bumper while crossing, you're too close and the next lane of traffic likely won't see us coming out from the front of your vehicle!

I am so impressed that our drinking water is still clean and safe and that there have been no major waterworks issues as far as sewage and drinking water is concerned during the daily monsoons we have been getting. Koodos
Thank you

Dear stranger who said they really liked my haircut while I was leaving River City Revival House and walking past The Gardens.
I have been having a terrible week and feeling very lonely, lots of trouble with my self worth. As someone who who doesn't get compliments very often, you simply saying you thought my haircut was amazing really made me feel happy in the moment and got me through a tough couple of minutes.
I really appreciate you and I hope I never forget this interaction.
Slim chance you ever see this, but your haircut looked amazing too and you had a really nice outfit. Keep it up!
Shout out to Gz2Gentz barbershop for the sick skin fade.

I took a pretty nasty spill biking through the mill creek ravine trail today and had to go to the hospital. Two women who happened to be nearby carried my stuff for me and escorted me to the nearby fire station. I even said I could take my bike myself but they insisted on taking care of it for me. You really helped me out and this is the only way I have to thank you at this point.

I am new to Edmonton, well relatively new. (moved here October of 2025) Everytime I see EPS out and about they are directing traffic, picking debris up off the road, blocking flooded areas, kicking the problem people out of behind buildings and public spaces as well as many other good things. I know people say they find they aren't proactive enough but I find they are fair. Do I speed or drive like a problem, no. The only time I ever see them pull people over "they" were doing way above the limit or something stupid.
Well yesterday I had a cop loop back around to my house as I was only two blocks away. He let me know my registration was up. Being new here I had no idea it was done by birthdate. (Got that clarified today as it was never told to me when I registered my vehicle) Did he know the answer? No, did he give me a ticket? (Hope I don't get you in trouble) No, no he didn't. He didn't have to take my word or trust me to not drive my vehicle but he did. So off today I went on a thirty minute bike ride to the registry hahaha.
My point being, next time you talk down on the EPS just remember they really are people just trying to serve the community. I can't say that about many police forces but I truly do have respect for EPS.
Edit kinda sad I have to put this. I'm white, officer was brown. I just used respect when he talked to me.

Thank you! I just found it today and had a good laugh. I saw you handing out random cards to people at the bbno$ concert and thought it was pretty cool, so I'm honored I received one!
Even though I was towards the back of the crowd at the concert, everyone was dancing and smiling together. It was awesome.

II want to send a huge shoutout to everyone involved in the production of "Murder on the Orient Express" at the Citadel. I went to see it last night with family and a friend and it was absolutely incredible. I am a HUGE Agatha Christie fan, and they absolutely did the story justice. The set design was insane - the story takes place on a train, and the way the stage moved to change sets, combined with the incredible design of the backgrounds took my breath away. I heard multiple people talking about how cool it was!
It's a complicated story with many characters and I thought the script did an excellent job of capturing the important story beats while maintaining a lot of the whimsy that is (for me) a key part of Agatha Christie's Poirot (which I feel is missing from the modern adaptations with Kenneth Branaugh). It felt like there was a lot of love and understanding of Christie in the script, with nods to how she pokes fun at Sherlock Holmes and tropes of detective stories (notably, Poirot doesn't trust "clues").
The acting was incredible too! Honestly, it was hard to pick my favourite. I was laughing so hard at Mrs. Hubbard, who I felt like she had been lifted off the page as Christie's quintessential satire of a clueless 1930's "American". Poirot was spot on. I really enjoyed his performance, and I definitely cried at the end because I felt he captured the struggle of this story so well.
The theatre was full on a Thursday night, and it made me so happy to feel part of a community supporting live theatre and art.
I just really needed to share how much I appreciated this show and how happy it made me!
Thanks again!

We so often take so much for granted; we don't realize how fortunate we are.
We're clothed, fed, warm, clean water, a roof over our heads, and so many other things many people do not have in the world.
Give thanks, and help out those less fortunate.

To all the helpful bystanders who helped my father after his fall at Southgate Mall. And those who waited with him while the EMT’s were on their way. Thank you so much. As most of us with ageing parents or family members with mental health issues will tell you, we will sometimes feel immense levels of guilt when our wards become hurt when alone. It can be difficult to manage their well being as well as your own personal life. Hearing that people rushed to help him restored a little of my faith in humanity and encouraged me to seek help as well.
As a little bit of an update he is receiving professional help and he will be moving to a facility with more care and support resources available.
Once again, thank you!

I am in a rental this is the second year living here and when we moved in the floors were not this bad… just lifting in some areas…
But can someone tell me why my floor keeps cracking and lifting!?
There’s a few other places that the floor is lifting in the corner.. 😭
I have mentioned it to my landlord but he said it was from the house shifting in the winter…..

To the guy who helped my mom out of a bad situation in front of the 127th street Dynalife location today. I know it’s a long shot that this reaches you, but she told me she felt terrified. So thank you so, so much for helping my dear mother.
