General Question Moodboards Labeled Other Than Moodboard Monday Are Still Moodboards

This is a general reminder that there is a weekly megathread if one feels the need to post them outside of Mondays. Please stop clogging the subreddit on other days trying to justify them as "type me" or what not.

Yes, I'm being the fun police today. The majority of us do not enjoy seeing board after board (according to moderation polling earlier this year). Please respect this.

General Question SX-blinds, what are you like in romantic relationships?

I’m wondering if I shouldn’t be so hesitant towards potentially romantically engaging with SX-blinds or if I should accept that I won’t feel fulfilled by them at all. I haven’t actually ever been involved with one romantically so I’m unsure about what they are like and hence how they would make me feel. My assumption is that SX-blinds are incapable of making me feel desired, loved and seen, things which matters to me a lot, however by romantically limiting myself to SX-users only, I’m aware that I’m ignoring a whole demographic of individuals which reduces the size of my dating pool. It’s important to me to feel more loved than I can give love if that makes sense, and I’ve observed that sx-types are easily comfortable with indulging in that dynamic.

Just for Fun What’s the biggest lie you’ve caught a Type 3 telling?

Been seeing the new documentary about Elizabeth Holmes on my feed recently, and she’s supposedly typed as 3w4. Was wondering if anyone has caught an e3 in a really huge lie/deception and what was it about?

Type Me Tuesday It’s that time of the week again- time to be picked apart by strangers because my best friend told me to

Hello people of the world, ( and whoever else this may concern ), I’m honestly not too familiar with enneagram at all. But, as the title says, my best friend, who’s super into typology in general, told me I should try this out. I’m not 100% sure what I need to say because I really am unfamiliar but imma try!

What am I afraid of?
I’m scared of being the reason I fail things in the future. I know that if I do fail, the reason is probably that I didn’t work hard enough or I didn’t try my best. Everyone says “just try your best.” And that makes me even more stressed. No matter how hard I try, I’ll absolutely never reach my exact best because how would I even know what my best is if I reach there. Ik they just mean around the general area or my best but it gives me so much stress anyway. Also, I know that just trying my best is what I should and need to do. But it feels like trying my best would involve like completely giving up every other aspect of my life by their definition which I’m also not keen to do. I also had a very very unexplained and nonsensical paranoia around my mother leaving the house to drive anywhere for a long time as a child. It’s not a separation anxiety thing, I was just convinced she’d get into a car accident ( she’s not the best driver but like, she’s totally not bad enough for that to have been a valid concern ). As for like horror movie-y fears, perception of reality being false has always scared me. Stuff like the Boltzmann Brian paradox ( basically it’s a principle in thermodynamic physics to my understanding where it’s more probable for a single brain to be created than the entire universe. This brain could have distinct memories and consciousness and still only exists for a few moments. I worry about being the Boltzmann Brian a lot and it’s a thought that creeps into my brain.- then when I told my best friend about the theory, she didn’t even have the decency to be horrified )

How do I react when in conflict:
firstly, is it something I can ignore? If it is then I’m ignoring it. For years if I have to. But i believe it shows a bit in small lapses that eventually paint a picture of my general annoyance/frustration. ( I can still enjoy their company a lot while blocking these thoughts out ). Ive found myself tolerating a lot of friendships because the people I’m close to were friends with them and even enjoying these friendships. I find it extremely difficult to hate a person consistently unless they are consistently bothering/wronging me. Even when I’m with people who I know to have done horrible things, it’s hard for me to hate them in the moment. I think it’s cuz my mindset is weak and it’s hard for me to fight off manipulation tactics or isolate what’s going on in the present from past events and believe that both may have happened. Another thing that gets me upset is abuse or misuse of power, even if it’s super small or false promises. When I reach my breaking point ( usually after a very drawn out build up ) typically I’m already so emotionally done with the situation that breaking a bond is just the natural thing for me, even if I do it kinda abruptly from the other pov. Usually I’ve had enough time to contemplate my life and relationships that I’ve already decided if being close with someone is positively or negatively affecting my thoughts about them and life as a whole. And if the answer is yes, then that’s usually the cut off for me, even if I like them as a person or feel happy when we talk. Even when in conflict with others, after huge fights and stuff, I find myself thinking “nothing is really that deep.” And if they have an incredibly emotional reaction it pisses me off. It also irks me greatly when people shout in argument or use fallacies and bad faith arguments. I think that it’s incredibly immature and shows a lack of control. I feel as though, I have afforded someone the personal respect to not raise my voice or to use arguments that don’t directly address a point and when that isn’t reciprocated I feel very upset. I also in general have a pretty ok threshold for what pisses me off ( as long as it isn’t repeated and we aren’t already in conflict ). As a child I used to get angry extremely easy and almost like being in verbal fights but now it exhausts me, which I like about myself. Whether I wish someone well or don’t bother to after I stop communicating with them depends greatly on whether they actively wronged me or if it’s more so that they were a person who I considered to be bad for me. However, I try to wish them well because I feel like one should. And I like to try to keep my thoughts towards others positive to not ruin my mindset towards humanity or anything. That’s another reason why I try to empathize with the other person ( especially after time has passed ). The idea of a bad person is subjective and I think that everyone is morally grey. I also don’t really believe that my opinion about whether someone is bad or not is necessarily correct. This leads me to feel extremely guilty after I stop talking to someone. I know that it’s human nature to think “I’m right in this situation.” And I know that the other person thinks they’re right too so it always makes me paranoid, sometimes for months or years after. Usually, after a while when I’m not being affected by whatever made me stop being friends in the first place, I’m ok with having a less close friendship and can enjoy their conversation every so often.

What motivates me?
intense fear and/or stress. However, I don’t feel intense fear and/or stress very often ( way, way less than I believe a normal person would ) so usually I just float through life pretty unmotivated. I also feel motivated by ideas that I fabricate of what a type A person is like, someone with a high drive to meet high standards and goals. I try to be like the people around me who have these traits. But at the end of the day, my drive to meet even my own goals ( like these ) is pretty low. Mostly, the stuff I get done gets done because I set rules for myself that I don’t like breaking too much. I used to be way better with my rules and not breaking them a few years ago, but they still help me function. I work super well under high stress and deadlines tho, cuz when something external is pressuring me to finish something, especially knowing that the end is in sight, it’s easier to force myself to just do stuff. I also try to make commitments in my academics that involve other people so I have no way of flaking- that’s one of the rules.

For psychosophy, my friend ( same one who’s great with typology ) typed me as FLEV and I forgot all about that typing, did my own research and again typed myself as FLEV. ( both the individual letter placements and the general vibe fit me super well ). I did check sources like a few sites and I looked at the other types and FLEV fits me the best. That being said, I’m not 100% sure and probably never will be, it’s just an educated guess that I personally believe to be accurate.

When I was a child I was a contrarian and very loudly so. I still try to analyze and look for faults in what people say or logical inconsistencies before i decided to consider their belief-set but I don’t hunger for conflict like I did before. I also think that if we want society to get better, then we have to learn to forgive its worst members if they show genuine remorse ( this obviously doesn’t extend to every situation, but I use it as a general rule of thumb ). My views on religion typically don’t misalign with what I know about scientific evidence and census. And if my thoughts do differ, then typically I change my opinion of religion. My idea of what happens after death in general is extremely subjective. Right now I’d say the closest label to what I believe is panentheism tho.

Sorry if this is too much or too little.

Advice Wanted could an so2 relate to sp2 if theyre so/sx 🤔

So i used to mistype as an sp6, then an sp2, and then i discovered you are supposed to find your instinct first and then i ended up so/sx. Which should make me a so2. Which sort of makes sense, i share a childhood with e2s and I relate to e2 as a whole. But i like to be looked after anf seem helpless to other people, like an sp2 and not much like a so2. I do also like to care for others and would do anything for another person if it ensured they liked me, i also like bringing people together and being high regard in other's eyes. I enjoy being the center of my group, and I enjoy having a close relationship with my group. But my group isnt very big and I am not very well-liked. And like e2s do I do get angry when people don't like me. But again, back to the point, i like the whole of e2 and i think it fits me but i don't know how i can relate so much to sp2 if its my blind spot? I just don't feel so2 enough and idk

Edit: you know what pisses me off about reddit is when fat bitches downvote posts asking for help like can you help aswell if u think ur so knowledgeable oh my god

Type Me Tuesday It's that time of the week again, time to overshare with strangers on the internet 😭

I'm honestly not so sure how I should be going about this, I feel like giving a question/ answers format doesn't really resonate with me, so this is just a few things I've noticed about myself

  1. I prefer to have a structured plan, however, I dislike using physical means of noting it down, instead, I like to 'collect data' or like, read my surroundings and how I feel internally before carrying out something in a certain way ( I like to trust my gut)

  2. Following point 1, I'm very distrustful of people, and one of the things I incorporated into my belief system was that there was no one I could rely upon but myself. Like, no matter how much I might care about someone, I would always take the route that was most beneficial to me even if it actively harmed them. I would feel really bad, but I'd convince myself that they would never do the same for me and that I'd only be inconveniencing myself if I found a middle ground.

  3. You might've noticed I used past tense for the above point because I've really tried to improve myself, even if my underlying mentality about it remains the same. I'd like to call myself someone whose pride is in being able to grow and change to become someone better

  4. However, my own fear of being wrong and my fear of losing the comfort I had in my own, for lack of a better word, head strong-ness, I wouldn't follow up on actually making an improvement on myself for a long time, under the belief that making myself vulnerable would make me weak. Till now, I still struggle with that.

  5. So, I would project myself as being a very chill, approachable person that people could rely on, but it's also not a false depiction of myself, I acted in the way I did because I wanted people to have a very clear idea of the person I am, and to be consistent to myself. I can't stand the idea of someone making me out to be a person I'm not.

  6. I have no issue in voicing my opinions about other people when they have clearly wronged me, and for the longest time in my life, I thought that anyone that chose to preserve the peace in spite of themselves were stupid. Now, I try to keep myself relatively uninvolved such that I don't get myself into unnecessary drama, especially when I used to get myself in trouble a lot for involving myself in other people's issues

  7. I do things and act in a way that satisfies my idea of how I should act to remain in line with my moral compass, and will go against general conceptions if I have to, even if I don't like it. For example, I would regulate my interactions with other people and stop talking to them if I felt it was affecting me, even if all I'd want to do is to continue talking to them and getting lost in it. I used to love to immerse myself into things and would easily be misled into other things

*8. This is my most interesting point, I think. I was talking to my best friend (trying to get her into typology), and she seemed surprised by this, which I think is cool. Okay, anyway, I've had my own fictional world for a while, much through my childhood, that I'm now writing into a book. For me, whenever I'm posed with a new situation, I apply it to my characters and setting, from which I would derive my own interpretation, and hence, world view from it. All of my values and morals come from my fictional universe. To which my friend said that it was usually the reverse for most people that they would insert their own beliefs into their fictional verses.

For point 8, I used to be very religious. However, when I inserted a god-like figure into my world, I actually came to despise the concept of God, and through my own interpretation, I slowly detached myself from the idea of religion and adopted anti theist ideology.

I feel like I'm over sharing quite a bit, but I really am very curious about what the community could say my typing is as I often struggle to see myself from an outside lens

General Question Which types crave intensity?

I keep hearing that its mainly enneagram 8, but I don’t relate to this type at all. I crave intensity but don’t take any steps to acquire such a lifestyle. I’m a passive individual, in my head all the time. Most likely IEI in socionics. I have a deep irrational fascination with intensity and chaos. Intense feelings, arguments, fights, chaotic parties, rapid driving, weapons, drugs. But I cannot materialize my fascinating visions on my own, kinda like I would need someone else’s initiative and drive. I despise boredom. If I had two options: doing something considered strange but immensely fascinating or having a boring safe time, I would pick the first option. Yes, I know how horrible that sounds.

Type Me Tuesday It's that time of the week again! :D

Post image
24 Upvotes

These questions are meant to narrow down someone's MBTI, but I think a lot of them can be used to find someone's enneagram type too! (Pic unrelated.)

  1. "You have a completely free Saturday. What does your ideal day look like?"

My ideal day looks like spending the whole day with my partner doing whatever I want (since we're usually just doing what she wants, most of the time). We wake up, have some morning sex, eat breakfast, take a stroll through the park (assuming it's not too hot out and it's not too windy, so that I don't have to constantly be readjusting my hair the whole time), go home, play videogames and watch movies together while binging on some snacks, have sex again, and cuddle each other as we fall asleep and hear her tell me she loves me and words of affirmation in general throughout the day :3

  1. "After spending an entire day with lots of people, how do you usually feel?"

It kinda depends. If it's a bunch of people I don't like for whatever reason, then I'm pretty drained. Though I guess that's kinda just the human condition, right? Lol. Otherwise, I'm completely fine, even if I was just neutral toward them or something. In fact, if I did like them, I'd go as far as to say that I feel rather charged and excited!!

  1. "When you're working through a problem, do you think out loud with others or think it through by yourself first?"

I think out loud, even if no one is around to hear.

  1. "At a party where you only know one person, what are you most likely to do?"

I would try and make friends through that one person. So if or when that one person inevitably starts talking to some other folks (as I'm presuming that this person is the one who invited me in the first place, and therefore they must know someone else there too), that's when I take advantage of the opportunity to try and squeeze myself into a conversation with a new person and get to know them through the original person. If, for whatever reason, I can't hang out with that one original person to accomplish this in the first place (e.g., this one person is busy elsewhere or I lost them somehow), I'd just try and strike up a conversation with whoever I found interesting at the party and go from there.

  1. "Do you process life by talking, or do you usually know what you think before you speak?"

I process life by talking.

  1. "When learning something new, do you prefer examples first or the underline theory first?"

Hmmm. I honestly don't know how to answer this, as I feel like I can go back and forth between underline theory and examples. Maybe I need examples first for me to truly understand something.

  1. "Are you more interested in what is happening right now, or in what could happen in the future?"

I am more interested in what is happening right now, though I think about the future a lot in order to be considerate of others and how my decisions could impact them down the road.

  1. "When someone tells you a story, what details tend to stick with you: the concrete facts, or the bigger meaning/lesson?"

The bigger meaning/lesson.

  1. "If you travel somewhere new, what excites you most: experiencing the sights, food, and culture, or discovering new ideas and perspectives?"

Experiencing the sights, food, and culture.

  1. "Are you generally more practical or imaginative?"

Ooooo this is tough. I guess I'll say imaginative, though I've often been told  by others that I'm both.

  1. "Imagine you have to fire someone who is a close friend. How would you approach this?"

Genuinely a nightmare situation 😭 I guess I would do my best to make it easier for them by telling them that this says nothing about them, their worth, or who they are as a person, and that their gifts would simply be better utilized elsewhere. I'd then do everything in my power to comfort them and support them through this whole process. I'd later try and help them maybe find another avenue or route in life that they could go down instead to reach their full potential.

  1. "When making a difficult decision, what carries more weight: what is objectively fair, or what will affect people the most?"

What will affect people the most. Life is, unfortunately, usually rather unfair. So you need to prioritize people first and how you impact them in order to get as close as possible to "fairness" to begin with, if that makes any sense.

  1. "If two friends are arguing, what role do you naturally take: the problem solver, or the peacemaker?"

Peacemaker.

  1. "What's more frustrating: illogical decisions, or insensitive people?"

Insensitive people.

  1. "How do you usually plan a holiday: with a detailed itinerary, or a rough idea and see what happens?"

A rough idea and see what happens.

  1. "Do you work more effectively when the deadline is starting to approach, or do you consistently work effectively even when the deadline is a while away?

I want to be like the second one, but I'm probably more like the first lol. I am a procrastinator, unfortunately 😭

  1. "How much do you value a tidy work space?"

I value it very much and I can't think straight if it's in disarray.

  1. "When plans suddenly change, what is your first reaction?"

I am annoyed, suffice it to say. I can adapt and completely understand if it was out of anybody's control, of course, but I get very frustrated and angry if it was well within the control of others and people were either just inconsiderate or irresponsible in general.

  1. "Do deadlines motivate you, or do they stress you?"

I guess they motivate me? Without deadlines, I'd probably get nothing done. I need structure. They can be stressful, sure, but they're much nicer to have than not. I'd rather have the stress of a deadline than the stress that exists without one. I wouldn't do good at a job from home, for example, because I wouldn't have the discipline to do something like that. I need outside pressure and structure to get stuff done.

The way I see it, you'll be stressed either way. So why not choose the option that stresses you less? Structure and fewer options is better than aimlessness and a million options...

  1. "When you finish a project early, how do you feel?"

I feel great. Now I don't have to worry about that project anymore and I can forget about it + do something I actually like instead. Either that or just get something else productive done after finishing that project early.

  1. "What does your mind naturally do when you're sitting in silence?"

Hmmm. I guess I naturally start thinking of other people?

  1. "When life gets stressful, what is your default coping strategy?"

I withdraw and pull away from everyone to be by myself. I will often take this time alone to doomscroll, bedrot, play videogames, and listen to sad music/be in my feelings, or else just totally lock in and double down on self-improvement while I'm away from everybody so that I can come out later and present myself to the world as this shiny new being that's now unstoppable and capable of accomplishing anything.

  1. "What do people misunderstand about you the most?"

I think people see me as more full of myself than I actually am. People have often seen me look at myself a lot in the mirror and thought I was in love with myself or something, when really I'm just wildly insecure about my appearance and I'm constantly looking at myself in the mirror to check if I need to readjust or fix something. I'm worried I look bad, I don't think I naturally look good unless I work hard for it.

Also, I've often been told by others that they thought I was a "douche" before they got to know me. They said I "looked like one" (physical appearance wise), but then quickly realized after talking to me that I'm actually "super nice."

Idk why or how I give people the immediate impression with my looks that I'm a douche 💀😭

  1. "What is your biggest strength?"

My communication skills. I've been told I'm very persuasive in general. That I have a "silver tongue." I'm also very good at "translating" what people are trying to say to one another. Not necessarily in the literal sense of actual languages, but more so metaphorically speaking. I always notice when or how people are talking past each other in some way, so I will sort of act as the go-between for folks and try and "translate" what each person is intending to convey or get across. And I'm very good at understanding what people mean or are intending to communicate toward me, so I'll usually say what their exact point is before they even get to finish making it in a conversation or I use the exact word that captures the core essence of the whole idea they're attempting to communicate.

  1. "What is your biggest weakness?"

I tend to read into people's words and actions too much, and care wayyyy too much about what others think about me. I can also be a bit... histrionic at times, admittedly. Ngl 💀

  1. "How do you know when a decision is the right one?"

I guess when my gut tells me it's right? I usually just trust my gut on most things anyway and I'm right at least 85% of the time. If I'm not exactly right, I'll adjust and pivot where need be later. Certainty doesn't exist in this world for the most part to begin with, so it's fine if you screw up every now and then so long as you simply don't screw up SO badly that you can't possibly recover or save face somehow. Most decisions probably aren't 100% right to begin with, but if they're even just 85% right then that's enough room for error for a person to just pivot and readjust in order to save themselves later 🤷‍♂️

  1. "Would you rather read one fascinating book, or meet ten new people?"

Oooooo this is lowkey a bit tough cuz I've read some pretty life-changing books...

I guess if I had to pick one, I'd choose meeting ten new people :P (Tho I'd prefer if the number of people were less, tbh. I'm a quality over quantity kind of person.)

  1. "Would you rather plan everything, or improvise?"

This is also tough. I feel I can somewhat go back and forth between planning and improvising, but I'd say there's 65% planning and 35% improvising in my life. So I guess I lean towards rather planning for everything.

  1. "Would you rather solve a mystery, or comfort a friend?"

Comfort a friend for sure.

  1. "Would you rather live in the present, or dream about the future?"

I'd rather live in the present if I could, but I know what I tend to actually do is dream about the future (lol).

  1. "Would you rather have certainty, or have options?"

Certainty. Too many options is annoying and usually just counter-productive at the end of the day. Though, that's not to say I'm afraid of uncertainty. Life in general is often uncertain and the sooner people accept that, the happier they'll be. Some things are simply out of our control, unfortunately. I would just rather have certainty than options if I could only pick one, I guess.

Type Discussion 2s and 4s are the same, except...

2s and 4s operate from the same heart-brain mental source, but 4s are inuitive and can see the unhealthy problems of 2 behaviours and so gravitate towards 4.

2s are much less intuitive than 4s, so aren't as aware of how unhealthy and problematic 2 behvaiour is, but they are more practical and hands on, and so gravitate towards 2 behaviours, which is useful to get things done.

Deep Dive Are E9s driven by their emotions or not? E9s are deeply disconnected from their feelings and their ego is unknown as they give all of it to their partner or to mask their real needs and not be a crybaby,, but where are the emotions?

E9s control over their ego is clearly weak as they feel the need to be there for their partner and ''give their selves'' to the ambient and start losing it because a false sense of identity as they are nothing without others to give them an answer of who they are. ''Tell me who I am, you know more...''

If they look for inner peace, does that go with an ''emotional'' tag or something about socializing?

Type Me Tuesday Its that time of the week again and you’re gonna help me know if im either a very stressed e2 or just an another enneagram with a princess complex

Idk how to do this so i’ll just answer type questions and how i act

1- “Whats your biggest fear?”
I generally fear the idea of being dropped into a world without preparation, cushioning, or a support system to fall back to. I fear the idea of losing someone i love, being unloved by that person, or just being in psychological pain (its not THAT much but its still there)

2- “Whats your wants?”
I want to be treated as a princess, have someone i can trust or be guided by and for people to follow my demands. I mostly feel entitled to a comfortable and easy life because i suffered a lot during middle school

3- “Whats your personality like?”
Im pretty selfish all things considered but i still want to be praised so i do stuff for others (albeit reluctantly) I usually act super cute, childish and ditzy around people who have power over me or people i find intimidating, while when im with people who are in my eyes on my level im mostly sarcastic with little to no filters with my speech.

4- “Do you feel like you have to be perfect?”
I mean, not really like I generally say “If its good enough it doesn’t need fixing.” unless its something im passionate about then im rolling in my grave trying to make it perfect

5- “What motivates you?”
I just want to look cool or cute when i do stuff, or the fact that i would have something to write about on job resumes or university applications.

6- “What annoys you?”
People not really taking me seriously when im trying to talk to them, and people overstepping my boundaries because “Oh well you used to be fine with that”

Idk if this is enough and feel free to ask questions if it means typing me would be easier for you

I thought that being an asocial borderline schizoid who is constantly in their head was enough of a qualifier but i guess not. I am screaming to go "not me" even though I know damn well that it is. my 4 fix was clinging to the speschul identity attached to the obscurity from the 5 fix, silly as it may seem. 9-6 stem has been described as groupthinks who are also cowards that want to stick with they squads. I do not relate to this, and I definitely don't want to. I also didn't relate much to enneagrammer's description of the 9-6 stem. So what made me decide on 6 over 5? I've kept noticing this sort of thinking, I'm having a hard time articulating but I'll attempt to explain: I have an insecure sort of mind that wants to disown itself and be reflective of the majority, subconsciously of course. some of this is 9, but I've noticed a 6ish aspect to this as well. a part of myself fears being blamed and would rather have that blame put on anything else. I have also noticed that I'll feel out public opinions. If I'm watching a video I'll always check the comment sections to get a general consensus of the opinions of viewers. my 4 side hates this conformity and wants to wipe itself from existence or crawl out of its skin. It feels similar to being born with ugly features, meaning there's nothing you can do about it and you sort of have to accept being a little npc-ish and not as original of a person as you thought you were. that sounds way too harsh towards triple/double attachments, but that is my genuine insecurity. plenty of other people think this way too, and they're not as willing to admit it. being original is valued; being a trailblazer is valued. this could be a pretty controversial post but I'm willing to accept that. I think it's a nice opportunity for other people who think like this but don't want to admit it or accept it to reflect on themselves.
