hello, i made a post a bit ago on here seeking support for flu A symptoms. im now on day 16 and with an antibiotic my symptoms have improved a lot! but i am still dealing with a super runny nose + post nasal drip/congestion. i am taking an allergy pill every day but i dont really think it is doing much. i'm also doing saline rinses which seems to be helping. But i am wondering what to do, its causing me a lot of sinus pressure and pain as well. i'm thinking i'll just have to ride it out but im wondering if anyone has any tips. i'm finally feeling improvement after 16 days but this has been incredibly miserable and exhausting--i know this will take my body a long time to get back to normal. please get your flu shots in you havent, wash your hands, etc. i wouldnt wish this on anybody!!! She didn’t end up being dehydrated after labs came back but they started her on fluids after drawing blood just in case. The ER doc ended up prescribing her BROMPHEN-PSE-DM 2-30-10 MG-/5ML she has a cough but its not too nasty sounding and her oxygen has been good and he said her lungs sound good. she coughs more so when she wakes up. She has been though, very congested. He didn’t hear her cough but he did see the cingestion so i wonder if thats why he prescribed it? i shouldve asked but ive been so worried about every little thing i just didnt think to ask ab this med and why. She woke up a few mins ago and is trying to fall back asleeo but keeps occasionally coughing. should i give it to her or no?? no benefit??

I don't know how I got it, but I have a sore throat, no appetite for anything and my head feels heavy, legs sore, nose congested and It's hard to keep my eyes open, I feel like I'm too lazy to even exist.

The worst one is the sore throat and no appetite combo, can't even drink water in peace, and my parents shit cooking I'm normally disgusted by amplifies it. Had to cancel plans, all I can do is doomscroll ig.

I’m day 6 of being sick … Well I’m at the end of it I think.
I don’t know what’s up with this flu or cold this year but it is truly no joke.
I started getting sick with just a normal cough and sore throat. Then on day 3 I had such a bad fever (around 110 if I remember) and lost 6 lbs because I wasn’t able to eat for a whole day and a half.

The fever only lasted a day but I am still recovering from my tiredness that came from the fever.
I’ve never experienced such things after a fever, but I see a lot of people are getting extremely tired after this flu / cold that’s been happening.

I hope it does get better because I don’t have anymore sick days for work. I’m doing everything I can to try to feel better but my body is just not listening and recovering at its own pace.

So I’m not testing positive for influenza A anymore and most of my symptoms have gone but my sinuses are still not completely unblocked and the past couple days I’ve experienced pressure in my sinuses and referred pain in my throat and the back teeth/gums. I also don’t have any mucus to blow out.

Bit confused as to what might be going on. I’ve already had antiviral and two different antibiotics during this ordeal.

Tested positive for flu a on Saturday morning and the NP prescribed Tamiflu because I was in the 48 hour window. Took both doses Saturday and Sunday with no issue, and did start feeling better, fever was gone. Today, I took my morning dose around 6:30 with breakfast. Since my fever had been gone for over 24 hours and I was feeling better, I started to drive to work. As soon as I got on the highway, my scalp got hot and tingly, my tongue started tingling, and my chest got warm from within. Like when you drink something hot on a cold day. I pulled over and waited for it to pass, then went back home.

I was able to get in with an NP at my primary care office, and her opinion was that I was having an allergic reaction to something. The only thing I’d taken besides the tamiflu was ibuprofen at 6am and NyQuil at 8:30pm, but had never had any kind of reaction to those drugs before. She told me to discontinue all meds. My only known drug allergy is sulpha. Has anyone else had a reaction like this or been told they were having an allergic reaction?

103.3 fever, crawling around the house, crying, barfing and suffering these past few days. Thank god I’m better today, still recovering. Bless you all as you get through this horrible illness. Going to get vaccinated regularly and EARLY…. Especially now that I’m a teacher smh. I feel so fucking dumb right now.

Hey guys as you have read I’ve had this nasty stomach bug which has led me to be in and out of A&E (hospital in the uk) 4 times now. Once time I was so dehydrated I had to be put on fluids, I’ve improved I’ve managed to keep things down, but still look so pale, it’s been nearly two weeks now and I’m just constantly exhausted and my brain feels foggy, like I feel a sort of dizziness almost. I wasn’t eating much before but I’ve started to digest more foods like chicken, beef etc when before I was only on a carb diet, pasta, rice and soups. Been feeling pretty low since I was going gym and was happy with where I was and now I’ve gone back to square one. I’m also a hypochondriac so I panic seeing things online, stomach cancer, h pylori and so on so now I’m panicking and thinking the worse. Any advice for me please? I just don’t know what to do to keep my mind at ease and to ease my anxiety. I’ve got an ultrasound tomorrow and they said if the symptoms don’t improve in November then an endoscopy could be considered but wasn’t advised as the doctor said I’m young and thinks it’s too invasive. But what would you guys advise me.

For context: I was weighing 57kg I’m quite a small girl, 5’3ft and now I’m weighing 49/50kg since I wasn’t able to keep anything down and was barely stomaching any food.

Genuinely baffled as to why I’ve suddenly got the shits just as I was starting to feel better from a cough and cold. Thought I was finally over the worst of it and now this!

Anyone else had this happen? Is it just the virus doing a tour around my body or what?

I went to ER yesterday, tested positive for flu. They gave me steroids, antibiotics and steroids. It seems that the meds made my body very angry! I've been on a rapid cycle of chills/sweats, and have had to use my nebulizer (also have COPD) just to get the few steps from bed to bathroom. Is this normal?

I got my Flu shot and Covid booster yesterday at 7:05pm but my fever is fluctuating from 99 to 100 F since like 12Pm.

I have to go to work on Monday at 9:30am. I work from home. Desk job.

Will I feel good enough then?

What can I do to feel better besides rest, proper diet, hydration and Tylenol?

A household member had symptoms starting Wednesday morning and tested positive for Flu A on Thursday morning (first test they did). I got the vaccine Wednesday evening. Wednesday night, Thursday, I was fine. Friday I woke up with a sore throat and a few hours later suddenly developed a fever and vomited a bunch (36 hours out from the vax and 48 hours from exposure). Since then I've had fever, sore throat, aches, cough -- flu symptoms. I also developed a hive at the injection site. Saturday still sick.

Tests Friday morning, Friday evening, and Saturday morning all negative (not a hint of a line). Negative for flu B and covid as well.

Very likely that this is a real infection and it's just too early for a positive test, right? What are the odds this is actually from the vaccine? The timing seems weird for that, if nothing else?

Or is it likely that this is a completely different virus? That would be a big coincidence, but maybe nothing else makes sense.

I am not sure what a typical vax reaction is for me because I have gotten it together with the covid vax for the past several years, but this was the first year I decided to separate them. I do tend to have big reactions to the flu/covid combo and had a big reaction to getting covid vax on its own last week. I don't remember ever having such a reaction to a flu shot when I used to get them before 2020, though.

Update in case anyone is reading this in the future: on day 4 of symptoms I finally got a faint positive test.

My entire household was down for about 4 days. It felt like death. Shivering freezing one minute boiling hot sweat the next. I wish it upon none of you, please get your flu shot! I usually wait until the final week of October and this year I paid for it.

Influenza 2026 - 2027: Tamiflu vs Xofluza?

Hello.. just wondering if anyone else experienced this? My fevers have stopped but I still have headaches, fatigue, nausea, stomach aches, and diarrhea. The worst is having no sense of smell or taste and makes me have even less of an appetite. I'm still breastfeeding my baby so I need to eat though. It's been rough.

update: so I woke up with itchy hives all over my body. which escalted to mouth ictching on the inside and soreness in my throat and tongue. decided to go to urgent care. after talking about if I have any new changes in diet (I did not) she said it could have been the flu shot. she gave me a steroid shot. I went home and took citrizine. this morning I woke up with no hives. hoping that’s the end of that

I had to get a second flu shot due to needing it for school. I have been having some weird things happen since that I have never experienced and I’m wondering what could be going on.

tuesday- constant itching on my scalp, arms, and trunk. I wouldn’t say ”severe” but bad enough that I kept waking up to scratch and it seemed like no matter what the itching wouldn’t cease. Upon inspection in The mirror this morning, I noticed some dimpling on the skin under my breasts. I’m not sure if this is a rash or due to constant itching. it is not on any other areas that itch.

So tested positive for flu b on the 11th. Boyfriend comes home with Covid. He never got flu but sure enough i tested positive yesterday, I have Covid, as I was turning a corner from the flu.

My boyfriend keeps insisting that what I got on the 11th was just what he has and that I wouldn’t be getting it because I gave it to him. But I tested this morning. He keeps making it seem like I shouldn’t be sick. And telling me “you don’t seem that sick” or, “you seem better”?? I just tested positive and I feel like garbage.

Traveled cross country and went to two theme parks with my family. Got back last Thursday, spent the weekend adjusting back to our time zone (traveled from PST back to EST). Had severe fatigue, body aches and cough Tuesday, Wednesday and today. No fever. Was set to go on a girls trip with 5 other ladies in an air bnb where everyone is sharing a room. Took a test and … looks positive for flu A to me? Afraid I’m just being a baby and this is jet lag lasting a long time and I’m imagining the line 🫠

I’m still getting a fever once a day, around 101.1°F.
My symptoms are fever, congestion, a sore throat that’s getting better, and fatigue. I feel much better than I did during the first two days, but the fever is still coming back.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
