The Agnipath scheme is fundamentally wrong, and its proponents have failed to offer any convincing justification for it. The same old arguments are trotted out, or comparisons are made with the United States, conveniently ignoring the huge differences in the military systems of the two countries. India has neither the same institutional framework nor comparable provisions for the resettlement and rehabilitation of personnel after discharge. Instead, Agniveers are offered assurances of recruitment opportunities in state police forces and the CAPFs, but there is no firm guarantee that these opportunities will translate into meaningful employment for those leaving military service.
Another argument is that the rising expenditure on military salaries and pensions leaves insufficient funds for modernisation and defence research and development. But why should these competing priorities be treated as though one must come at the expense of the other? The government can allocate separate budgetary provisions for salaries and pensions, and for defence procurement and R&D. What prevents it from doing so? Why should soldiers be made to bear the cost of modernising the armed forces through reduced employment security and uncertain futures? Fiscal constraints do not make such a trade-off inevitable, nor do they justify shifting the burden of defence reform onto the very personnel the military depends upon.
Serving military officers may publicly express support for the scheme, but there is considerable discontent surrounding it within military circles.
The government recognises the scheme's shortcomings, but reversing course has seemingly become a matter of political prestige. If that is the case, let prestige take precedence. Keep defending the scheme and offering the government unquestioning praise. The consequences, however, will not be borne by those defending it from the sidelines. They will be borne by the soldiers whose futures are being made uncertain and by the armed forces themselves.

India's Army now has a shotgun built to fight drones. SSS Defence's T-12 is a 12-gauge, gas-operated semi-auto with a 20-inch barrel, a 5-round magazine, and a weight of 3.8 kg. It's designed in India, and it's already being supplied to the Army's Northern Command. The big claim is that SSS Defence says it took down a drone at 90 metres, using hardened steel pellets in a custom wad. I broke down the design and what's verified versus what's company-stated. Is a shotgun a smart last-mile answer to FPV drones, or just a cheap stopgap? Tell me below. For educational analysis only. The Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) is powered by a 750kW engine, with an extremely low probability of power loss—close to zero. Yet, HAL leaves nothing to chance.
As part of its uncompromising safety philosophy, in this first part of test series, HAL demonstrates autorotation landing capability at Maximum All-Up Weight (AUW)—a critical validation step that ensures the helicopter's safe recovery even in the rarest contingencies.
These extensive flight trials and continuing product improvements demonstrate HAL’s commitment to progressively validating and enhancing the LUH.

More than 18,000 Agniveers from the first batch recruited under the Agnipath scheme are scheduled to exit the Indian Armed Forces by 31 December 2026 upon completion of their four-year contractual tenure, officials familiar with the matter stated. Phased releases of 75 per cent of the first cohort will begin from mid-November, with the Indian Navy initiating the process, followed by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army.

I mean what should I even say?? I don't see any reason to buy another import helicopters when u have LUH. Just imagine all 200 order goes to LUH + 187 LUH committed, bringing the total number to 400+ potentially.
Also seriously, again L1 and L2 . Bruh come on man. Do you want to have 3 different light helicopters?? Wouldn't that complicate logistics?? Just go with HAL LUH man. Case finished

There seems to be very little clarity about what is actually happening in Arunachal Pradesh. The recent acknowledgement by ITBP Director General Shatrujeet Kapur that Indian and Chinese troops are engaged in ongoing face-offs at multiple locations along the Arunachal Pradesh border raises some serious questions. Yet, there seems to be very little media coverage or public discussion surrounding this issue.
Adding to the concern is the death of Lance Naik Ebet Paloh, a soldier from Arunachal Pradesh, who reportedly died in the line of duty around October. As far as I know, the circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been made public.
Why is there such a deafening silence surrounding these developments? Is there a larger context that we are missing, or is there a reason why so little information is available? I'd genuinely appreciate it if someone with credible information or a better understanding of the situation could shed some light on this.
Ps - This is not an attempt to malign the government or the armed forces. I'm simply trying to understand what's happening and why there seems to be so little transparency surrounding such a serious matter.

India’s Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) is set to evaluate a ₹75,000-crore proposal on October 26 to build indigenous Next-Generation Destroyers (NGDs) in domestic shipyards for Idian Navy.
✅Project Scope: Multi-ship domestic production under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
✅Displacement: ~13,000 tonnes (substantially larger than 8,000-tonne Visakhapatnam class).
✅Propulsion: Hybrid engine model under consideration.
✅Armament: Highly weapon-dense configuration with indigenous missile suites.
✅Design Phase: Conceptual stage; detailed design to take 4–5 years.

Hi all, sorry if this post sounds vague.
Just wanted to know what is the current situation of Tejas. I havent been following much defense news in recent times. Back in 2019 and 2025 Tejas wasnt used because it was deemed operation ready ig. And recently i remeber it was grounded because of some breaking issue when one airframe slid of runway.
So what is the current situation? Is it flying again and how ready is it for upcoming combats? Also like how does IAF plan to use it in terms of role

So as u know DAC cleared a lot of things and they were...lets say pretty vague and unsure. (Like 82% of the order is for Indian Industry), so...
1)Heavy Mobile Vehicles (HMV) - will be Indigenous, likely will be Ashok Leyland Super Stallion 8x8,BEML-Tatra T815 8x8(and 12x12 platforms),or Tata LPTA 2038 6x6 / 2445 6x6.
2)Self Propelled Tracked Gun System- 100% will be extra K9 Vajra order. I think 100 more is already on order bringing the total number to 200. So this one will likely bring the number to i guess 300-500?. Either way it will be Forign import but heavily indigenous too? .so there is that
3)Gun Shot Response System (GSRS)- Indigenous. Likely will be C-DAC's Acoustic Gunshot Detection System (AGDS) or DroneVerse Aviation’s AI GSRS.
4)Light Multi Role Helicopters (LMRH)- import, likely is the rename person of RSH tender. Just hope if LUH participates they win it. Just imagine 200+187, potentially 400+ LUH .big win for Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
5)Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS)- likely import , there was many talks about Verba MANPADS.
6)Platform Based Counter Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS)- Indigenous, there are many like SAKSHAM,Bhargavastra,Indrajaal Ranger,Prabal or DEWs.
7)Unmanned Aerial System Brick Long Range & Surveillance UAV- probably import like IAI searcher. Might be Indigenous. I aren't sure on this. What do you guys think?
8)Integrated Surveillance and Strike System- Indigenous, i think there was that one product shown during Republic day parade which i forget the name, it is probably that or Aksheteer. Anyway this will be Indigenous.
9)Long Range Kamikaze Drone System- probably indigenous, just hoping they won't buy israeli, polish or Belarusian sh#t.
10)Active Offboard Decoy System (AODS)- Probably Indigenous considering It is Navy. Can anybody help me what that system is?
11)Major Indigenously Designed and Constructed Naval Platforms- name describe it, probably it is for P18 and P15C destroyers (lets go baby).
12)Special Utility Helicopters (SUH) / Helicopters- probably is extra order for Dhruv? Idk about this? Or the recent RFI for 20T Heli?? Who knows??, my reason say it is probably Dhruv MkIII.
13)Advanced Air Defence Systems - probably Akash NG,might be for pantsir who knows . My bet is on Akash NG. Or maybe more MRSAM or More Akash numbers?? Or VL-SRSAM??? who knows. Probably it is Akash NG.
14)weapons- possible extra HAMMER or new israeli weapons like RAMPAGE,LORA,ICE Breaker or more Crystal MAZE?? I don't this is Indigenous
15)Mobile X-Band Doppler Weather Radar System- Indigenous, i think BEL has one.
So this is it. What do you think guys?? Have I missed something or forget something please don't forget to mention it.
