Didn't get to take a clear photo because whatever this is kept running. Pretty speedy, too, in my humble opinion

Here are four easy tips to help distinguish between a moth and a butterfly!

I need to find a good camera for smaller bugs. I am currently doing research on millipedes (oxidus gracilis) that have just given birth. I normally just use my phone camera, but the babies are soooo tiny. We also just got approved for research funds, so if anyone knows of quality equipment that is relatively cheap, let me know.

I'd say it's like half a centimeter diagonally in the picture

Can you help me identify this little guy? I found it very close to a kitchen sink. I’d like to know if it could be considered a pest, or if it might bite me or do something worse. I’m using a translator, so please excuse any poor phrasing. I’m from Mexico—specifically, the northern part of Mexico City.

Raspy Cricket, native to parts of Australia. This guy was as big as my thumb!
Eastern Michigan: Have not been able to identify it, some say grasshopper others say stick bug, but I think it might be something else

That’s what Google says this guy is. The flame skimmers are very orange I think it looks more like a Scarlett than a Flame Skimmer, based off of my absolute zero knowledge of dragonflies 😂 this is in Long Beach, CA.

Found remains of a Jewel Bug post rains, the first I have seen in real life. Mesmerized by the vibrant metallic colors.
Do jewel bugs have these colors since they are born or transform as they grow?

I've never seen anything like that. All the limbs in the front. Reminds me of a shrimp. I wouldn't be surprised if it was something kinda aquatic. I live near a lake. I always see frogs and snails. Especially after rain. (And it's raining now)

NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS
Sitting outside on a cold day and I looked over and this little very long legged spider was crawling down the wall. Who is she? It's pretty late in the season for spiders to be out and about -- I'm willing to bet she's nearing her end.

I am an art student and I really want to make a project about how beautiful and important insects are. We have to make 6 sculptures for this project.
My only problem is that I’m not sure how to get my message across.. does anyone have ideas?

I've been inundated with these brown ones instead of the usual green stinkers. Are they invasive to New England?

Hello everyone!
I am not sure if its the right place but i dont know where to ask and I am very curious, google search didnt help much.
An hour or so ago, I felt a buzz by my hair, reflexively I brushed with my hand only to have something to buzz and I panicked a lot and slapped whatever it was away. I am new to getting used to insects and I got caught by surprise. I feel really bad, whether it was a bee or wasp, I am not a “smash it” type of person, I usually “remove” myself off their way when I am afraid of bugs…
Only a little after i felt a burning feeling in my ear, then i found a this on my sleeve. When I slapped it away something yellow flew away so I assume it was a bee or wasp. I was wondering if it is possible to identify it from the pictures.
It is not for treatment purposes of course. Just curiosity. I am also not asking if it is a bite or anything. I got a few pictures. I live in Germany/Bavaria, if it helps.
Thank you in advance 🫶🏻

There were a bunch of them on a tree. I imagine they are a butterfly or moth in their larval stage
