Comprehensive list of gay bars/LGBT venues in Greater Manchester

I have compiled the following list of gay/LGBT+ bars/clubs/venues/businesses* in Greater Manchester. There are several other lists online, however most are out-of-date, and they all ignore anything outside of Canal Street. This is thus the most comprehensive list currently available; I’ve added a brief description for each one (n.b. I am not affiliated with any of these venues).

If anyone has any additions/corrections, please DM me and I’ll edit as appropriate.

\Meaning any venue which caters for and markets itself towards a predominantly LGBT+ crowd, not just ‘gay-friendly’. Casual social/meet-up groups not included. Worded also to aid Google SEO.*

Dungeons and Dragons

Hey,

I am looking to get into DnD as a complete beginner, as I'm trying to follow my interests and broaden my hobby pursuits.

Is there anywhere in Manchester (or Stockport more ideally) that host weeknight DnD sessions that are beginner friendly? I know that Fan Boy Three do sessions but I am not sure if they are beginner friendly. Kind regards.

Rusholme Deewali Deewangi or Diwali x Fake Wedding

Hello everyone, I was booking tickets for diwali party, then I got to know that there are two parties in Manchester. One is Diwali Deewangi that is on 6th Nov and another is Diwali x Fake Wedding which is on 7th Nov.

Now I'm confused which one should I attend. What party are you guys going and which one is worth it? Need some suggestions.

Would love to connect to new people if we're going to the same party.

Hi all, got a bit of a terrible story and a cry for help here.

A friend of mine accidentally spilt a glass of water on my favourite jacket about a 1/2 weeks ago. I just found it now and it's covered in mould!!

Very devastated- and hoping anyone knows any shops or businesses that would know how to get this type of mould out of a leather/suede without costing an arm and a leg?

thank you and pray for me xx

Accessibility question at co op

Co-op Live accessible entrance
Going to see The Strokes tonight and was wondering if anyone knows how the accessible entrance works? I’ve got a Nimbus Access Card but my tickets are just normal standing ones, would I still be able to use it with my boyfriend?

Also does anyone know if the queue for it is usually shorter than the normal one?

We’re wanting to get pretty close to the front so just trying to figure out when to get there

What’s the most Manchester thing you’ve ever experienced?

Whether it’s a random stranger helping someone after a bike crash, a familiar view that makes you appreciate the city, or the eternal debate over whether Bolton belongs to Lancashire or Greater Manchester, this place always has something to talk about.

So, what’s your most memorable Manchester moment? Could be an act of kindness, a ridiculous local debate, or something so uniquely Mancunian that people from elsewhere just wouldn’t understand.

Let’s hear your stories!

Someone helped me out today and it restored my faith in people a bit

Had one of those days where everything feels like a bit of a struggle, and a random person did something really kind for me today.

It wasn't anything massive, just someone taking a moment out of their day to help when they really didn't have to. We probably won't ever see each other again, and they likely forgot about it five minutes later, but I genuinely appreciated it.

I feel like we hear so much about people being rude or inconsiderate that we forget most people are just getting on with their lives and trying their best.

Anyway, if you helped a stranger out today, you're a good'un.

Where to go this Halloween Weekend

Hi, my friends and I are students planning Halloween in Manchester… clearly we are too late for club tickets. I was wondering if we might buy some at the door (there are about 10 of us); if not, where should we go to still have fun?

Bike crash: thanks to strangers

I got "doored" on my bike yesterday. Cycling along Cross Street near Boots and a taxi passenger opened their door without looking and knocked me flying. I ended up on my back stunned. My helmet took the brunt.

I wanted to thank the three young men who immediately came over to help. You were kind and helpful. You made sure I was ok. You looked after me. You said nice things and you just took time out to help a stranger. You didn't laugh or mock.

I want you to know you made a horrid situation much better. I probably didn't thank you as much as I wanted to. But afterward when the shock faded and I cried a few tears of embarrassment and pain, I really relished those moments of human kindness. I remember one of you having a go at the taxi driver for only thinking of their vehicle and not the person lying on the ground.

It's unlikely you will see this. But what matters to me as I nurse my aches and bruises this morning is the kindness and I wanted to share my appreciation. I think from what I remember, the three of you were off for a night on the town. I hope you had a really good evening. You deserved it. Thank you.

How is everyone reacting to the BeReady campaign? I can’t gauge how serious it is and I am losing my mind. I live in an apartment and don’t have enough storage! Don’t get me wrong, I am not fear mongering… just genuinely curious. 😷

I’m extremely sorry if this post causes distress to anyone. It is better to be informed than not.

Looking for an amateur / student film photographer in Manchester

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for an amateur or student photographer who might be interested in photographing a small civil ceremony in Manchester.
I’m after a candid, vintage, editorial-style look, ideally 35mm film or digital photography with a similar aesthetic. Think natural, romantic city wedding photos rather than traditional posed wedding photography.
I’m particularly keen to find someone who enjoys photography as a hobby or is looking to build their portfolio. Of course I’m happy to pay for their time!
I’ve attached a few Pinterest photos to show the style I’m looking for.
If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be, please let me know! I’d love to see some examples of your work.
Thank you! 🤍

Moving from NZ/Aus to Manchester for a year with kids

We are a family with 2 kids under 6 years old looking to move to Manchester for a year for work (doctors doing fellowships). We currently live in Australia and are originally from New Zealand. So very used to chill lifestyle with easy access to beaches!

Looking for some insight as to how easy/hard the adjustment will be for us! Is the weather terrible in comparison? Public transport much better? Cost of nannies/au pairs? Ease of travel during weekends/school holidays etc?

Thanks in advance!
