Hello all. We would like to add some clarifications to what is and isn't allowed on yard sale Sundays. We want to save everyone time, so please read carefully and ask any clarifying questions below so we can clear them up for everyone.
Every week on Sunday, users may post promotional content including (but not necessarily limited to):
Posts that are not permitted:
When buying or selling, even and especially digital items, arrange to meet on campus or another safe place. Don't get scammed.
Please note all posts are subject to removal per moderator discretion. Posts are considered advertisement even if they are not direct advertisement (discord servers which offer such services on the side, free trials, etc)
Please ensure you use the correct flair when posting (Yard Sale Sundays). Any threads of a promotional nature posted other than Sunday will be removed and you will be instructed to repost when appropriate.
*Reselling for a profit is strictly prohibited
**Applications which are directly relevant to McMaster may receive exception at moderator discretion, provided they are free to use, generally helpful, and collect no personal information.
***McMasters agreement with HSR prohibits exchange of HSR vouchers. As such, we cannot condone trading as there is nothing preventing these codes from being voided at a later date.
Thank you.

We are once more seeing an uptick of admissions-related questions for 2026. Please post any admissions/ program related questions in this megathread and engage with other questions in here.
Standalone posts asking admissions questions will be removed and the OP will be asked to search and post within this thread and the prior 2025 Admission Megathread.

Hello! When do people typically start looking and touring off campus housing? I’m a very confused first year who has no idea how to navigate this process. How do you even find places to begin with??
Any help is appreciated!

Very low on funds right now, like seriously so broke.
Any ways of getting extra money or giftcards or whatever?
I already have a job but expenses are racking up unfortunately and I havent been getting many shifts. It's also super hard to get another job and then also manage my program...
Please give any tips and tricks Ill take it.

Genuinely would anything stop me from wearing my costume to a midterm I have on Thursday bc it ends at 9:30 and I'm going to a thing at 10 and like I don't got time to change. It would have fake blood admittedly but like would they stop me?

my brother is in the compsci program at this school and 3 of his midterms are at 8 PM. today he has one and is staying the night at the school until tomorrow bc he has another 8 PM midterm as well. the commute is 1 hour to get to the school and it’s so complicated that he’d rather stay at school for it.
is 8 PM normal for compsci students? how is this allowed. it’s not even logical for them to be at 8 PM bc by that time everyone is tired and imagine having an 8 AM class the next day after that

I’m at a diff uni rn and am lowkey not enjoying it too much. I want to transfer to life sci here but I feel like my hs avg is cooking me
I had a 91% at sem 2 midterms, but that went down heavy to a 86% by finals. Does anyone know if it’s even possible to transfer into biology core/gen life sci second yr?
If I lock in this yr and get a 90s gpa, do I have a good chance
Should I just not get my hopes up?

i just want to do a little rant, i see so many posted on here and i think that it’s telling.
in general, ive always enjoyed academia and learning new things. when i first started university (i am a second year transfer student) i had a lot of motivation and passion for it. but over time its just been miserable. i don’t find the system to be very good. it feels as though so much content is crammed in a short amount of time and that work must constantly be getting done or else you fall behind badly. is it really necessary for it to be this way? because of how rushed and how much information overload is being thrown at me i feel like i am learning less and just trying to get through the week without absorbing much information.
i know im just complaining and not offering many solutions, but i just feel miserable when i feel like it shouldn’t be this way. this year ive been missing class and assignments and its very out of character for me to do, ive always been decent at managing time and getting stuff done. but i feel no motivation. there is no passion for what im doing. and not to mention how inaccessible education is when you also have to work a job. my life just feels constantly stressful and im wondering if its even worth it. if i dont make it into grad school the only thing that my degree can accomplish is getting me a slightly above minimum wage job. so why should i even pursue it? if i just continue working at my current minimum wage job i can eventually make as much as i would if i had my bachelors. but that would not make me feel any more fulfilled. even the support that is offered at school may be good, it is just a bandaid for the flawed academic system.
again, i know im not offering any solutions and it may seem like im just complaining about my life. i just needed to get it off of my chest because i have not been feeling like myself lately. life is hard and scary right now in this world

Hi everyone! I'm currently in Grade 12 and planning to apply to McMaster BSc Nursing (both main site and MoMac) for Fall 2027. For those who applied for Fall 2025 or Fall 2026, what were your averages when applying and when you received an offer for either the main site or MoMac campus? My average by midterms this year (the midterms of courses I'm taking this sem and the 4U final grades for courses I took in summer school) will probably be around 90-92%, and I'm trying to get a realistic idea of my chances at both campuses. I know admission is competitive and varies each year, but any recent experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

How was the midterm for those who took it?
r/McMaster • u/Visible_Mulberry_794 • 2h ago
hello,
to anyone who has taken 2da3 before, how similar are the excel questions on the midterm review to the actual midterm?
r/McMaster • u/emasyy • 2h ago
hi everyone, I was wondering if there was a way to request an earlier time for exams?
r/McMaster • u/YourKittywaifu • 5h ago
I might be a dumbass or something since I don’t know how other people did but I actually got so cooked on it
I don’t know if it was the stress or something but I prepared for weeks for this and it genuinely hurts so much.
I know they won’t curve it but I don’t think I’ve felt this demotivated in a long time I lowkey (highkey) just want to drop out the stats midterm + this just feels like I’m not made for this program..
(Please put me out of my misery 🙏)

Exactly the title. I am dumb as bricks when it comes to navigating websites and whatnot :' ). Help would be very appreciated. I filled out the MSAF document itself, I just can't find anywhere to submit it on MacHub. Thank you in advance!

Hey r/McMaster! I'm a first-year and I kept finding out about free pizza and good events after they happened, because they're buried across 300+ club Instagram accounts.
So I built https://maccushion.ca. It pulls events from club posts (and Rubric) into one calendar:
• 99 events this week, 28 with free food
• Filter by day, the time you're free, free food, or event type
• One tap to add anything to Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar
• Flags events that might be cancelled or changed
It's free, no sign-up, no app.
It's still early, so if something's wrong or missing, there's a feedback button on every page, or just comment here. What would you want added?
I also post a weekly free food roundup on Instagram: @mac.cushioncalendar
