Click Fraud Rates By Ad Network For Q1 2026

This is from a database of 1+ billion ad clicks (mostly in the US).

We detect the bot software and click fraud techniques, so the figures are objective. They're a little on the low side since we don't flag "suspicious" traffic.

You can use these numbers to help you decide where to put your ad spend.

Q1 2026

  • Meta (Facebook): 5%

  • Meta (Instagram): 68%

  • Meta (Audience): 58%

  • Google (Search): 14%

  • Google (Display): 22%

  • Google (YouTube): 4%

  • LinkedIn (Platform): 19%

  • LinkedIn (Audience): 24%

  • Microsoft (Search): 14%

  • Microsoft (Audience): 16%

  • TikTok (Platform): 27%

  • TikTok (Audience): 27%

For your reference, here are the figures for Q4 2025:

  • Meta (Facebook): 6%

  • Meta (Instagram): 38%

  • Meta (Audience): 67%

  • Google (Search): 13%

  • Google (Display): 27%

  • Google (YouTube): 5%

  • LinkedIn (Platform): 17%

  • LinkedIn (Audience): 24%

  • Microsoft (Search): 14%

  • Microsoft (Audience): 24%

  • TikTok (Platform): 68%

  • TikTok (Audience): 79%

I've been a researcher in this area for 12 years, I'm doing a doctorate in the topic, and I work for a leading bot detection company.

Happy to answer any questions.

Seeing a lot of accounts this month go from solid ROAS to almost nothing in 3–5 days with almost no change on the surface (CPM and CPC only slightly up).

Meta performance declining at similar spend—creative fatigue, structure or tracking?

Meta performance declining at similar spend—creative fatigue, structure or tracking?

Help?? I run a one-SKU supplement brand, currently budgeting around NZ$75/day on Meta. I need to improve efficiency without increasing budget. Ive been going around 2 years and never have my results been so bad. I update creative regularly based on performance, but things keep going form bad to worse.

Meta-attributed performance:

  • December 2025: ROAS 3.50, cost per purchase NZ$22.81, 83 purchases, CTR 4.52%, monthly reach 69,780, monthly frequency 2.37. Spend NZ$1,893.
  • March 2026: ROAS 3.09, cost per purchase $23.90, 98 purchases, CTR 3.89%, monthly reach 85,024, monthly frequency 2.32. Spend $2,342.
  • July 2026: ROAS 1.29, cost per purchase $64.20, 39 purchases, CTR 1.42%, monthly reach 39,185, monthly frequency 4.07. Spend $2,504.
  • 28 September–4 October: ROAS 1.05, cost per purchase $72.97, 7 purchases, CTR 2.09%, CPM $33.42, weekly frequency 2.42. Spend $511.
  • 12–18 October: ROAS 0.81, cost per purchase approximately $103, 5 purchases, weekly reach 7,013, weekly frequency 2.01. Spend $517.
  • 30 days ending 18 October: Meta ROAS 0.81 on approximately $2,244 spend.

CTR above is the reported account CTR, not verified link CTR. Monthly and weekly frequency are separate windows.

Store context: AOV approximately NZ$79. Website conversion was 4.80% in April–June versus 5.19% in July–September, while new customers fell 49%. These are Shopify figures, not Meta attribution.

Structure/creative history: We previously split two customer angles across broad Advantage+ ad sets, then consolidated to one main ad set. Delivery has concentrated heavily on individual ads—one founder reel took 79% of spend during 12–18 October, leaving alternatives barely tested. That reel was subsequently paused. My current mix is statics, reels.

Given this history, would you prioritise creative diversification, controlled testing within the existing budget, account structure, or tracking? How many adsets / how many ads per set? Remember it is one SKU with one Problem / Solution we are solving.

Appreciate any thoughts!

When you get cheap clicks, but almost nobody reads the product page, what would you optimize for?

Hi, I run a small travel business selling week-long group trips (around $2,400 per person, 12 people max, next departure March 2027). I’ve been running a Meta Traffic campaign for 12 days and I’d really like a second opinion from people who do this every day.

My setup consists of placement in Instagram only (Reels, Feed, Stories), geotargetting of cities SF, NYC, London, Brighton, Sydney and Melbourne, men 35 to 54, $20 a day, optimizing for landing page views. Three image ads and two video ads in one ad set.

Numbers so far: about $215 spent, 11,000 people reached, frequency 1.4, around 1,100 link clicks and 1,060 landing page views at about $0.20 each. CTR has been 6 to 9 percent, which I’m happy with.

The part I’m stuck on: once people land, about 95 percent leave without scrolling or tapping anything, and roughly 40 percent leave within 10 seconds. About 5 percent actually engage (read half the page, use the room picker, open the FAQ). No bookings yet. I know a trip like this is a long decision and I’m not expecting sales from cold traffic this early.

A few things I’d love your take on:

  1. Optimizing for landing page views clearly finds people who click, not people who read. For a high-ticket, long-consideration product, what would you optimize for instead? Only about 2 to 3 percent of visitors accept cookies, so the pixel barely sees anyone.
  2. CPM went from about $10 to $16.50 in 12 days, and cost per landing page view from $0.18 to $0.29 yesterday. Frequency is only 1.4. Is that creative fatigue on the one image that gets about 77 percent of the spend, or just Meta narrowing to the clickiest people?
  3. Meta has basically refused to serve the two video ads (a few cents each). Is it worth giving them their own ad set, or should I trust Meta here?
  4. I’m about to start a small retargeting test: $50 total, people who engaged on Instagram in the last 365 days plus site visitors from the last 180 days, excluding existing followers, ages 35 and up. Would you change anything?

Thanks, happy to share more detail if it helps :)

[Hiring] Looking for an Experienced Paid Ads Specialist to Take Over & Scale Our Campaigns

Hey everyone!

We're School of Barbering, a US-based online education company helping barbers improve their skills, grow their businesses, and take their careers to the next level.

We're currently looking for an experienced paid ads specialist/media buyer to take over our advertising campaigns and help us scale.

We're not starting from scratch. We already have an established business, multiple offers, an active community, and existing marketing systems in place. We need someone who knows what they're doing and can take ownership of our paid advertising.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience running and scaling Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram).
  • Strong understanding of lead generation, funnels, retargeting, and conversions.
  • Ability to audit existing campaigns, identify what's working, and improve performance.
  • Experience with online education, coaching, or info-product businesses is a big plus.
  • Someone who can handle strategy, testing, optimization, and reporting independently.
  • Most importantly, someone who takes ownership and focuses on results.

We're looking for someone interested in a long-term working relationship, not just a one-time project.

If you're interested, send me a DM with:

  1. A quick introduction and your experience.
  2. Examples of campaigns you've managed and actual results.
  3. Your pricing or preferred compensation structure.

Would love to connect with someone who can really help us take things to the next level.

Thanks!

Meta ads completely stopped spending since Oct 2nd. Active status but 0 impressions. Help?

Hey guys, need some help here because Meta support is giving me the usual copy-paste useless answers.

My traffic campaign was running fine from Aug 28 to Oct 1st. On Oct 2nd, it completely stopped spending. Literally zero.

The status is Active, no red flags, no billing issues, account is completely clean.

What I already checked/tried:

  • Date filter is correct (Today/this month)
  • No cost caps or bid caps (using highest volume)
  • Audience is super broad, targeting multiple countries
  • Tried micro budget tweaks to force a re-fetch
  • Tried duplicating to a lower budget/different objective, still zero spending
  • Added an account spending limit 2 days ago just to see if it would move something, nothing changed
  • Just started a new test campaign today with a clean link to my IG profile to see if it's a domain blacklist issue.

Note: I added some external marketplace links on Oct 15, but the account was already frozen since Oct 2nd with the old standard link, so that's probably not the main trigger.

Anyone else experienced this "ghost active" state recently? Any workaround to force the algorithm to start delivering again? Thanks.

what is actually working for you right now?

Is anyone here actually running Meta ads for real estate and getting real results?

I am so sick of the textbook, guru advice on YouTube. What works on paper is completely different when you start spending real money, especially with the Special Ad Category restrictions messing up targeting.

If you're doing this successfully yourself, what does your actual setup look like? What kind of creative or hook gets people to stop scrolling? Are you just going broad with targeting or using your own data? And how do you filter out the junk leads without killing your conversion rate?

No agencies or course sellers, please. Just want to hear from anyone in the trenches doing it. What's the biggest difference between the "theory" of Meta ads and what actually works?

I’ll make free Meta ad creatives for 10 small product brands

Made a workflow that covers entire ad workflow from competitor research and ideation to creating ads, and I need real brands to test it on before I go further.

so here’s the deal: drop your store below and I’ll send you 3 static ads made for your products, plus the ad copy. they’re built from what your competitors are running in the ad library right now, so the angles are based on what’s working in your niche, not random templates.

no catch, no call, you can use them or not. all I ask is honest feedback, even if they suck.

best fit is physical products (skincare, supplements, apparel, home, pets, food) running or about to run meta ads. first 10 only so I can actually do them properly.

Question for experienced Meta Ads media buyers — Product Testing Strategies in 2026

I run an e-commerce business and have been testing products using a CBO campaign structure.

My previous strategy was to create multiple ad sets, each focused on a different marketing angle. Within each ad set, I tested several ads with different creative styles, hooks, and formats, while keeping the same core marketing angle.

However, recently, this strategy has become much less effective for me. I'm struggling to get consistent results from product testing.

I'd like to hear from media buyers who are actively running Meta Ads in 2026:

  1. What product testing strategies are working best for you right now? Are you still using CBO with multiple angle-based ad sets, or have you moved to a different structure?
  2. How are you structuring your testing campaigns? Do you prefer ABO, CBO, broad targeting, one ad set with multiple creatives, or a hybrid approach?
  3. How do you test marketing angles versus creative variations? Do you test different angles first, then iterate on the winning angle, or test everything together?
  4. Have recent Meta Ads updates changed the way you approach creative testing and campaign structure? Are there any changes in the algorithm or delivery system that advertisers should be adapting to?
  5. How do you identify winning products and creatives efficiently without wasting too much budget on the testing phase?

I'm particularly interested in practical, up-to-date strategies based on real campaign data, rather than generic advice.

If you're currently testing products for e-commerce, I'd really appreciate hearing about your actual setup, testing process, and what has been working for you lately.

How many creatives can I test?

Low budget (20 dollars a day) account running 1 campaign, ABO prospecting/ RT split (16/4). DTC/shopify brand in the outdoor industry.

How many creatives do you suggest I can test for each ad group? My impulse says fewer but curious whether any of you have anything to say.

[Help: Meta Business Portfolio has two admins. When logging in, they are duplicated and show “partial access”]

Hi everyone, I’m running into a strange issue with one of my client’s Meta Business Portfolios and hoping someone has seen it before.

The portfolio has two admins listed under People, and both are originally the admins but when I ( or the client ) log into their profile and visit the business portfolio, it duplicates their account under "People" and shows:

- Name & Surname ( Partial access ) which is the one we have control over

- Name & Surname ( Full access ) which we can't get a hold of

I attached an image below for reference

Whichever way we log in, Facebook keeps putting us into the partial access version, so I can’t manage assets, people, or settings properly.

I’ve already tried logging in with the normal Facebook profile login. I also tried Meta’s support chat, but I only got an AI assistant and couldn’t reach a human agent.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Did you manage to fix it by removing the duplicate, or did you need to go through support or another route to get a real person?

Any tips or guidance that worked would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you all!
