New Automod 2.0

Good day everyone. I hope you're gearing up for an awesome weekend of moto camping adventures!

We implemented a version 1.0 automod a couple of months ago and although it did a lot to reduced spam/bot posts it left a lot to be desired. Our new 2.0 automod is live. This should reduce the number of comments that are getting incorrectly flagged and further reduce spam/bot posts. I apologize if your post or comments were incorrectly flagged, and I hope it was approved quickly and cleared from the que.

If you are negatively effected by the new automod changes please message the mod team and let us know. We will try and make changes quickly.

Thanks for your patience and contributions to the community!

Trying to mix backpacking with this hobby?

I'd like to do some hike in dispersed camping e.t.c. but im nervous about leaving my bike parked in a lot for an extended period of time - has anyone tried doing this? What was it like? Was it a pain in the ass without being able to park your bike in camp? Tell me your experience

This is a little more vintage than this sub usually gets, but there is something to be said for doing bigger trips on these little bikes. You go slower, it takes longer, but you take in the scenery more and even the smaller obstacles are hard. They always get looks too!

We Just Had to Keep Going

EDIT: This is a 9 minute unedited video clip from my recent week-long motorcycle trip to Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of the video is to convey just how alone and in the middle of nowhere we felt riding at elevation in the mountains and an open plateau when it started raining and the conditions turned poor. The road becomes covered with mud and water runoff as the rain gets heavier.

We couldn't stop here, we had to keep riding to our final stopping point for the day so we had to push through the rain and keep going.

You can watch videos of the entire trip (so far) with the link below and more episodes for the following days are still to come.

Can't stop here, we had to keep moving through this rain and mud to get to our final destination. This is what it's all about though! Literally in the middle of nowhere.

I made it as a novice rider. Total 820 miles! It took 5 days - no highways and chill riding on countryside roads. Beautiful. A bit chilly - I felt this is gonna be the last motocamping this year. Sad it's getting cold but looking forward next spring already! I had so much fun, but it would be even better if I did with my friends.

I camped at Gambrill State Park (PA) and Big Meadow (Shenandoah National Park)

Looking to get a rear rack, top box, and saddlebags

Hello everyone! I’m looking for some advice from more experienced riders if you’re willing to help out a new rider.

I got my Honda NC750X about a week ago. I don’t currently have a rear rack or mounting plate, and several people recommended getting one. I was hoping to find a way to mount the bag securely without buying additional equipment, but I’ve decided that a proper rack and mounting plate are probably the best option.

I need some extra storage, and after some research, Givi seems like a good brand. I’m considering this setup, but I’d appreciate some advice before spending the money:

  • 1192FZ SPECIFIC REAR RACK
  • M10 MONOKEY PLATE
  • V58NNB2 58LTR MONOKEY CASE MAXIA 5
  • PLO1192MK PL ONE-FIT MONOKEY
  • WL900B 25LTR MONOKEY THERMOFORMED SADDLEBAGS

Ideally, I’d like to have a rear rack, a top case, and two saddlebags, although I’m not sure if the saddlebags are necessary. I’m also considering starting with just the rear rack and top case and adding saddlebags later, if needed.

My main concern is adding too much bulk or drag to the bike. For those of you who have experience with this type of setup, are saddlebags worth it for the extra storage? Do they noticeably affect handling, or does the bike still feel relatively normal to ride? As a new rider, I don’t want to make the bike unnecessarily wide or harder to manage.

I’m also open to recommendations for other brands that offer similar quality at a lower price.

If you have experience with Givi luggage or have a setup you really like on your NC750X, I’d appreciate any advice, recommendations, or things I should consider before making a decision.

Thanks in advance for helping out a new rider!

The day was filled with highs and higher highs as we stayed more than a mile high for the majority of the day. Climbing multiple passes, getting caught in mountain rain storms and finding the remote Tash Rabat ruins along the original Silk Road!
