Midnight Horror School (Japanese: ミッドナイトホラースクール, Middonaito Horā Sukūru) is a Japanese CGI anime series about a school for items and things long forgotten by humans. As midnight hits, an otherwise normal school becomes the Midnight Horror School, and the many objects within the school forgotten by it's students and teachers come to life. There are 26 students, each representing an individual letter of the alphabet. Each has a unique ability, or "wonder," that they hope will become one of the wonders of the world.

The series was made by Naomi Iwata, who made other unique 3D animated features like Pecola, Pingu in the city, and the cult classic horror series, Gregory Horror Show, that was made into a PS2 game by Capcom, and reached cult status (It takes place in the same world as Midnight Horror School as apart of the Horror World).

The series would be translated in English, thanks to the MHS English subs group on youtube! All 52 episodes are available to watch:

Workprint version of NATURAL BORN KILLERS (1994). Seventeen minutes longer than the director's cut and presented in a more linear fashion. Seems to focus more on the performances too and has an alternate ending. Some prefer this version over all the other cuts. Definitely an interesting watch.

Music video by filmmaker Buddy Giovinazzo for his band Circus 2000 A.D. Buddy played drums for the band and his brother Rick played bass. Rick would later star in COMBAT SHOCK (1986). The band was active in the NYC underground punk scene and even played at CBGB's. Really enjoy this song as well.

CATTLE BAG (2010) by Brandon DiCamillo of CKY, JACKASS and VIVA LA BAM fame. Created during the CKY4 era and featuring his best buddy Rake Yohn. Idiosyncratic humor and somewhat offensive, but not nearly as much as the CKY films. Displays Dico's love for westerns as well. Hard to find but DVDs are available on eBay.

Félix et Ciboulette (1985)

Hello Reddit! While cleaning out some of my parents' old things, my brother and I have stumbled across some vhs tapes from our childhood. We are working towards digitizing some of the more obscure media we find.

This one isn't very obscure for french Canadians of my generation, but qualifies for everyone else! "Félix et Ciboulette" was a program aimed at a young audience, aiming to educate them on various subjects. Félix (the human) would explain various facts to Ciboulette (the cat) in this beloved series from the province of Quebec.

Though the puppet wasn't as sophisticated as the ones created by the Jim Henson company and other studios with larger budgets, Diane Garneau gave so much personality and charm to Ciboulette. She always stole the show by bringing the mischievous and adorable cat to life!

---

Bonjour Reddit!

Hello Reddit! Recently my parents have asked for help with cleaning out some old things, including some vhs tapes from my childhood. Me and my brother have been working towards digitizing some of the more niche media we've encountered on these tapes.

This is Episode five from the franco-italian television series "Le Voyage Fantastique de Ty et Uan (I fantastici viaggi di Ty e Uan)

There's a few other episodes uploaded to YouTube, but the complete series can't be freely found anywhere from what I can tell.

From the information I've unearthed, the show's premise is thus: our protagonists are Ty (a baby mermaid) and Uan (a baby faun) who are en route to Mount Olympus, being delivered to their mothers via the stork Sézérina.

Each episode follows them as they reach a new point in their journey, where the two children are separated from their guardian, and inevitably stumble into a new adventure. The more brash and curious Ty is aided by her magic, being able to transform others into animals (though her spells are easily broken by a splash of water). The more level-headed Uan is the voice of reason. They inadvertently help some disaster from befalling the locals before they are reunited with Sabrina and take off for new adventures.

I have limited exposure to Italian cartoons, but this seems like an overall good production. I love the character designs, and the animation, sound design, and music are on par for what one might expect for a cartoon of the era. I would be happy if my post led to finding more about the series overall, especially if I could find the complete series!

In 1986, director Buddy Giovinazzo (COMBAT SHOCK) and actor Joe Spinell produced a seven minute promotional reel for a sequel to MANIAC (1980). Titled MANIAC 2: MR. ROBBIE, the sequel would focus on an unrelated story about a kids show host who murders those that hurt his child viewers. The sequel never materialized due to Spinell's death in 1989.

(1993) - Does Anyone Have A Clip Of The Skit "They're All Connected" From Uptown Comedy Club?

Thumbnail

I have for years, been looking for a clip from a skit from the Uptown Comedy Club TV show of the mid 1990s, where a frustrated man takes his car battery to a mechanic (presumably Dominican) and asks what the problem is. The mechanic frustrates the man further by telling him that the job will cost more because he has to "bring these", and then "get those" and then "call them". Whenever the mechanic is questioned why, he responds with "because they're all connected". It would be a fantastic way to explain a concept in education and I would like to show it in an educational setting. There are some clips of the Uptown Comedy Club floating around online, but not this specific episode or skit and this series which only lasted for a year or two, was never released to DVD. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is a link to a full episode (but not that episode) of "Uptown Comedy Club" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXagnKJyIc4&t=336s

The skit which I'm calling "They're All Connected", I believe features a young Tracy Morgan and Aries Spears (before the SNL and MAD TV fame). I believe it aired in 1993 or early 1994.

If anyone knows where I can find it, please help! Thanks in advance!

Hey folks,

Here's today's digitzed find. From what I've gathered, these two would consistently perform on The Lawrence Welk Show. Lawrence himself was known for his "Champagne music" and pressed TONS of albums widely purchased in the 50s and 60s, he himself was strictly instrumental, but he'd bring in individual or occasionally group singers for some songs. However, this is gosepl rather than Champagne music, not meant for dancing.

There is speculation that the raccoon (Hacker) is voiced by Rob Paulsen, though there is no evidence. The rabbit dad's name is never stated in the four shorts but is generally assumed to be "Harold"
