Community Looking for a MTG pod!!!

TL;DR

Looking for a pod to play commander with regularly. Lmk if yall are looking for 1 more.

DR

My pod recently moved to Moosmin and the sunk cost facility is strong with this one. Looking for a pod that meets semi regularly and of bracket 1-3. I have been playing off and on for the last decade or so and need to justify my bulk to myself and my wife. I have 2 commander decks atm and want to expand, but figured I should get a play group before hand. I know Sanctuary Games, Stormfall Games, and Comic Readers have regular nights. I just want to connect with people outside of those places first if possible. I have been predominantly a Blue, Black player but I have the 1 Gruul, and 1 Selesnya deck. Please lmk if you have any opening!!!

If these little shacks in the park were habitable ... It would make a nice place for a weekend getaway.

Question Where to take TLR training?

• Upvotes

Hey guys! My TLR certificate expired and I need it renewed. However, as I am not a student, I'm not eligible for Sask polytechnic's training classes. I had submitted a request with SASWH to get the training but they said my current employer had informed them that TLR is not required for employment, so SASWH won't let me take the class. This is super frustrating because I need the training to secure a different job instead. Any help would be appreciated!!

Community Strength training group classes

In search of recommendations in Regina for a gym that offers pure strength training classes.

I'm specifically looking for group classes focused on heavy lifting over endurance-based HIIT, so trying to avoid places like Session, Oxygen, Fit Body Boot Camp or any pilates offerings.

Does anyone know of a facility in the city that runs structured strength-focused programming in a group setting?

Question Breville espresso machine in town?

Anybody know someone in town that works on espresso machines and grinders? The grinder on our Breville barista express is acting up, and I'd rather take it to someone local if that's an option as opposed to spending hundreds to ship it to Breville for repair.

Discussion Luxury semi-detached in YQR?

Curious what other Reginans think about the few luxury semi-detached homes that have hit the YQR market in the past few months. The two above at the link are both currently listed. Price just dropped from $750,000 to $725,000. They have been on the market for 63 days so far. They are beautiful homes, for sure. But in a city where you can buy a pretty swell single family home for that price…is there a market for these kinds of properties? In many ways, a home like this would be perfect for a couple with no kids like my husband and I or even a small family. But, a couple things: unless that shared wall is brick or concrete (and even then tbh), I will always worry about sound transfer no matter how thoughtful or “premium” the build. Second, I’d think you have to really be planning on this being your forever home, or else have a ton of faith in the market. Cause the house itself, is never likely to be worth more than it is today brand new. The only way you are going to get what you paid is if the market continues to increase and remains competitive. It just seems like a risky investment in this city if you don’t expect you’ll be keeping it for a real long time. But truly interested to hear other thoughts and perspectives. One upside is the low (for Regina) property taxes. And it is gorgeous and really well designed for the right buyer. So, if you were in the market, would you consider a semi-detached?

Discussion How bad are convertibles and RWD in the winter?

I've spotted a nice convertible for sale but never owned one through the winter. I'm wondering if anyone on here has any stories they can tell me about how its like to own a convertible throughout the winter. And if anyone has had a car with RWD what was that like during the winter. Much appreciated

Discussion Best Bakery for Gender Reveal

Me and my husband are finding out the gender of our first baby this Tuesday. We were wondering if anyone has any recommendations, or knows of any bakeries in the city, that would allow us to bring in the result, and just ask for pink or blue icing on a single cupcake, in an enclosed box same day, so we can have a private reveal but still something to post on Facebook with.

Thanks in advance! ❤️

Question Seeking recommendations

I’m moving to Regina next month and I’m hoping to find a bakery that’s fully gluten free as well as partially dairy free. We have a fully gluten free bakery in Saskatoon that makes amazing stuff so I’m hoping to find something equally as good in Regina. No, it’s not a preference. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thank you to everyone for your recommendations! This has been super helpful! 😊

After 5 years I’m off to Vancouver. There were some good memories here and people were incredible. But a house and a job aren’t enough. I really hope this city figures it out.
