Tisha sound anomaly

Post image
• Upvotes

I was watching the recent Youtube review by Shark Coast Tactical. They come out and say basically what I said in this post—the Tisha is a very strong performer across sound, size and back pressure.

They record several different suppressors from different angles and distances. Interesting, you can hear some kind of "snap" sound anomaly right here in the video in the last shot of the Tisha. This happens on both the Titanium and Inconel cans.

I don't hear it on any other suppressors. Any thoughts on what that snap is?

Huxwrx Flow 9M Review

I went on another can buying spree this week and picked up 4 new ones. I’m worried my commie state is going to try and ban them so I figured I might as well grab as many as I can. Luckily I can buy them on 4473’s (for now).

Found this Huxwrx Flow 9M at a shop and bought it. Price was around $750 which seemed to be in line with what I’ve seen online.

I have not found any reviews on YouTube or any other forums of this suppressor (other than a SilencerShop video). From what I’ve seen it was just recently released this month. This is my first Huxwrx can. I’m just a normal autist like the rest of you, so I figured I’d give my thoughts in case anyone was looking at the same suppressor.

It’s modular and fairly light. I have not yet completely disassembled it, but they provided the tool needed to do so. It comes with the booster assembly.

I shot about 150 rounds through it this morning between my Gen 3 Glock 17 and my Glock 19X.

To put things plainly, this thing fucking rocks!

I did not use ear protection the entire time I was shooting.

I also brought my Ruger/Dead Air RDX910Ti and Gemtech Lunar 9 with me and took turns shooting them. My RXD910Ti is fitted with Griffin’s EZLok piston. I use it on my Glock 47.

Ammunition was PMC 147gr and S&B 140gr subsonic. In my experience between pistols and my PCC’s, the PMC ammo is louder than the S&B 140’s.

With the S&B’s, the Huxwrx sounds like a nail gun in the long configuration. Absolutely wonderful to shoot.

The PMC ammo was very negligibly louder. Not enough to hurt my ears or bother me. Still very quiet.

No gas or any kind of blowback hit me in the face and it did not seem to dirty my pistols up much.

In the short configuration, while slightly louder it is still very quiet and did not bother my ears with either type of ammunition. I was pretty shocked by that.

First round pop is there, but it is so minor you can hardly notice it.

I have been having issues getting my Glock 19X to run with my Ruger RXD910Ti and the Lunar 9 even with the Radian tuning kit. With the Huxwrx in both configurations, it ran like a top with no jams or issues. Just as pleasant to shoot as the Glock 17.

While I really like the RXD910Ti, it is noticeably louder than the 9M. It still great to shoot though and doesn’t hurt my ears with the right ammunition.

The Lunar 9 is very quiet when shot wet, but on my Glock 17, it is not hearing safe when shot dry.

TLDR: The new Flow 9M is an awesome suppressor, and for the price point, I think it’s going to be one of the best ones on the market now.

What are some solid suggestions on short, budget friendly suppressors for 9mm pistols and AR15s chambered in .223/.556?

Light Mounting

Thumbnail gallery
35 Upvotes

Any suggestions on if I should mount my light forward (pics 1-2) or father back (pics 3-4)? Will probably be used with the Tisha ~50% of the time.

Benefits of 1-2 are decreased suppressor shadow, with the drawback of putting the light past the hybrid flash hider/comp and right near the blast/concussive forces/unburnt powder when used without the suppressor

Benefits of 3-4 are the protection of the light, slightly shorter overall length, and the (marginally) better weight balance, while the drawback is the slightly worse suppressor shadow (which honestly isn't much to begin with, since the hotspot of the Lh8v2 is so tight and the Tisha is so short)

Do budget 5.56 cans that aren’t super gassy exist or am I regarded?

This might be a regarded question, but do budget not terribly gassy 5.56 cans exist?

Or should I be less regarded and just put a .30 cal can on my AR so that reduces some back pressure and gassyness.. sometimes run an Omega 300 on it and am happy.

But think it’s time to get a more dedicated suppressor. So, do I just get another .30 cal to keep on the AR full time or is there a less gassy budget 5.56 option. By budget I’m trying to spend $500 ish dollars.

My AR has a fixed gas block with the front sight post.

SiCo Omega 9k tri-lug

I bought this suppressor from my local shop about a month ago. The shop was pretty unhelpful, didn’t know much about mounting options, and didn’t have any compatible mounts in stock.
After a month of waiting, calling around, and searching online, I’m still coming up empty-handed.
Does anyone know where I can find a tri-lug mount in stock for this thing? Any leads at this point would be amazing .

First suppressor. How’d I do?

Post image

Because this is my first suppressor and I have many guns I bought a “do all” to swap around. If I like shooting suppressed I plan on buying more that will probably be a little more dedicated. Anyway, how’d I do? Please give feedback back or knowledge!

Edit: can is a SilencerCo Hybrid 46

Just got a Ruger RXD910. Excited to try it on my 10mm. The booster mount won't come off. It uses Dead Air's P system.

I got the tool, going the right direction, and the finish is scratched to shit now, it simply refuses to come off. It's legit insane. How hard do they freaking torque this thing down?

300 blk bolt, lowest FRP?

Hello, I’ve got a bolt 300blk I would like to be able to fire at night if needed and have as little first round pop as possible. Back pressure, size, finish etc don’t matter. It’d love on that rifle so I’d prefer to keep the cost as low as I can too but don’t mind paying more if it there’s no budget can with low FRP

Looking for wisdom.

I have a Q plan b hub adapter for a Griffin suppressor, this is my first suppressor. Been doing a lot of research online, and with two local gun shops. I am getting a lot of, would not use rockset when mounting the plan b hub with the suppressor. I don’t plan on changing this setup and would rather not worry about the hub coming loose whenever I remove the suppressor. Is there anything I am not understanding about the use of rockset? I understand it’s near impossible to undo this once it’s done.

Thank you.

Mounting a Spectre 9 ?

So I'm getting ready to throw a Spectre 9 on my trusty SP-01. Got a threaded barrel from CZ Customs that dropped straight in. Running up to a local shop to score the can in a couple hours.

Regarding mounting, is the Griffin EZ-Lock adapter and piston worth the extra parts and coin over a traditional piston given that I don't really intend to move the can around amongst different hosts very much?

EDIT: ordered a regular piston. Funny that the wait to get it is longer than the 20 minutes it took to buy the can (counter dude was chatty).

Backdraft poacher

I’m considering getting the backdraft poacher steel 8” can for my .556 with a 16” barrel. With a coupon code I’m looking at $275 shipped. I know it’s nothing fancy but will that setup get me by for the occasional range day?
