Behringer just shared a GitHub repository for their groovebox. They let the community do the homework regarding the software. The whole thing looking nearly identical to the MPC One.

Just saw that they have just created a PRO 800 CFW tool as well as made their grooveboxe's OS open source

Wish elektron did the same :)

I’ve had the Minilogue XD for a while and just never really clicked with its sound… Too clean and sharp for my taste? I kept going back to fight with my Minibrute 2 instead.
Anyway, today I got a Behringer Kobol Expander because I’m absolutely in love with the RSF Kobol sound, and decided to run the Minilogue through its filter.
Aaaaand THERE IT IS! Now the Minilogue sounds like a hug.
Any recommendations for other Eurorack filter modules I might like? I’m currently using the Kobol as an external filter haha.

Hey everybody. I've been recording music a long time. For processing sounds I've always gravitated towards running audio through hardware - through synths and pedals and amps. On my current album I'm using daw effects more than before. I'm still processing a lot with hardware, mainly my modular rack, but sometimes it's a lot easier and still sounds fine to just automate something with an aux channel.
My go to reverb is my Empress Reverb guitar pedal. I got it for gigging, but I get good recorded results with it too. I even use it for vocals. My question is, everybody swears by the Valhalla reverb plugins. Is VintageVerb going to do much more than what I can already do with my pedal and logic's stock plugins?
Thanks

This looks seriously tasty but well out of my price range

Have spent the last two years developing this series of playable compositions for the Korg Wavestate called NEOBAROQUE - a set of 64 proto-arrangements that are done in a baroque style that uses a wide variety of different sounds in the Wavestate ROM (I believe in making patches that don't require extra sample import because that is a real pain, plus, there's MORE than enough ROM patches in the banks to do something great) - Luke B, The Lost Futures

Probably needs a B section or something, but I’ve really been enjoying working on the Tonverk

l found some old threads comparing the M8 and the Deluge, but I wanted (and couldn’t find) fresh perspective after the Deluge community firmware 1.3 and several M8 updates.
Despite the workflow differences, the M8 and Deluge are worth a direct comparison as the ultimate lazy-Sunday-in-bed composition devices.
So if anyone can share:
- Links to any songs you’ve made?
- Which device do you finish more songs with?
- Favorite resources for both?
- Are older Deluge tutorials still relevant?
- What are your favorite device pairings? Purely from a fun perspective
- Which do you have more fun with?
While I understand that standalone is often the point, do you ever use either of these devices with a DAW?
Does the Deluge with its 10-year old CPU still belong at the top of the groovebox conversation in 2026?
Also! Yes M8 is on iOS/headless. And if you’re reading this you should check that out. But I’m really talking hardware here.
What do you think!?

"It's fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins" from "Supernaut"
This is the last of these cheat sheets I'll be posting for a while. I didn't want to flood everyone; I just wanted to share what I've made for others to use.
I made a cheat sheet for the Cyclone Analogic TT-303 Bass Bot to help me find what I need faster, and I'm sharing it with you.
It starts with a simple "Start Here" page, then walks through the whole machine: patterns, tracks, the arpeggiator, MIDI and sync, and troubleshooting. Every section opens with a short "Read when..." line, so you know right away if it's the one you need. There's a desktop version for reading or printing and a mobile version for reading on your phone.
It's free, and you can grab it in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Nederlands, Português (Brasil) and 日本語.
If you spot a mistake or something missing, tell me.
Get it here: https://patrickdsp.com/tt303-cheat-sheet-os2/

I saw You Can See Everything over the weekend and it was great, but the standout for me was the soundtrack by a previously unknown (to me) musician / composer with a history of doing soundtracks.
I am super curious what synths went into making the soundtrack, and how somebody makes a soundtrack like that, both ambient, driven, and timed to the film like a typical musical score.

Ok so what I mean is that I plug their outputs into my mixer and I have absolutely no problem getting a big fat clear sound, beefy low end, lovely middle, clear highs. Presence all round.
I plug some others in and the sound is, a bit meh. I can tweak the gain and EQ and get it better.
In my limited experience from my arsenal of ancient boards, all my old Korgs (Wavestation, SR, Triton) always sound amazing. I remember trying an Ms2000 in a shop back in the day and it was the same. My new Korg (Wavestate) less so.
My Yamaha's never quite seem to hit the spot without a lot of work. My K2000 can also sound a bit weedy.
My Blofeld, despite the well known issue that some patches are programmed too low, usually sounds killer, like it's actually alive.
Am I imagining this? Are some synths / makes just inherently better at this? As I say most of my Korgs are great from this perspective but not so the newer one.
Disclaimer: I'm no audio engineer, and the audio signal /electricals side of things usually confuses me a bit.

The FB marketplace gods were looking down on me. I was about to order one from Sweetwater for my birthday present to myself, then this pops up essentially brand new in the box for $500. I thought it was too good to be true but here it is…and the guy just gave me a free Scarlett OctoPre to take home with me as he was trying to get rid of stuff.
I had been looking at an Ob-6 or TEO-5 for years now and when I finally made a trip to Sweetwater and was able to try them all out, I was actually really impressed with the UB-XA. Not generally a Behringer fan based on build quality but I’m really happy with this one.

Hi all! I am an electric guitar player and lately I have been messing around with an old cheap keyboard and have had a blast playing some lead stuff (prog rock and fusion). And I have been thinking about getting a synth and learning how to work it and play it in a band/jam setting. I love pedals and shaping my tone on the guitar so I thought I might enjoy experimenting with a synth.
I am really only interested in lead at the moment but I also don’t really know what I am doing or getting myself into, will a synth likely be overwhelming and I’m better off getting a keyboard or is synth the way to go? What are some good synths in the 500$ range? And will I be able to use my electric guitar pedals through a synth as well? I have enough extra pedals for a full pedalboard with delay, wah, overdrive etc.
Thanks in advance!✌️
TL:DR
Guitarist wanting to play lead on keys, should I get a synth or keyboard and will guitar pedals work for synth? What is a good synth around 500$?

It seems that the EMU just craves for DnB. I can't fight it, so I'm enjoying it.
