During the show, they obviously are discussing the Simpsons and Conan talks about his time as a writer there, what it meant to him, and some of his favorite bits and gags. They start talking about how funny it is that vehicles on the show have a tendency to explode even after the slightest traffic accidents. I’m thinking about Moleman’s Gremlin exploding after lightly brushing a tree or the school bus exploding when a leaf slowly falls onto it, etc. - but Conan then says one his favorite bits was when Homer drives past an Amish horse and buggy and runs them off the road and over a cliff, and then the buggy and the horse inexplicably explode.
The problem is that particular bit was in an episode of Family Guy and not the Simpsons. Nobody corrected Conan or said “I don’t remember that one,” they just laughed and moved on.
Boy, I hope Conan got fired for that blunder.

Hell Toupee and that whole episode is so much better than the standard episodes at that time.
I wonder if they had the Horror episodes written earlier but they could only use a few of the storylines a season so they had a lot of material written during that golden age.

I haven't watched a whole lot of classic simpsons (big fan of season 2 and 6 though) but either way I'm still not sure what exactly Flanders meant by 'Springfield's answer to a question no-one asked'.
Was it about her moralizing sometimes?

I've noticed more posts asking to explain jokes or gags the last few weeks. I'm hoping this is a new generation of viewers trying to understand older references, but it feels like AI is using the Simpsons to learn what a joke is. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?
