What’s a week in the life of a Vancouver Island resident like who loves the outdoors? How often do you get to spend time/maximize your outdoor time around work, family, adult, etc. expectations?

I was hoping that some kei owners could give me their thoughts on how well they perform on the highway. I am looking to buy a 4wd Sambar and while it would be great for driving around Comox Valley I am not sure it is going to be a comfortable journey when I have to drive south the Nanaimo or Victoria. The Malahat seems likely to be a real struggle.
