I’ve been living in Van for about 4 years now…and I’m finally looking to upgrade from our current apartment to something with a little more space. I am so surprised at how many buildings are not pet friendly, or have grandfathered pets into the building but not allowing new ones.

Has it always been like this? I’m finding it really had to find apartments that are pet friendly. Also are pet deposits the norm here? (I only ask because it’s illegal to ask for them in Ontario)

My sister is going to have a baby in couple months and I like the idea of gifting her some delivered meals to her door for when baby arrives. I don't live in Van and can't come drop stuff off myself.

I could just get a DoorDash or Uber Eats gift card or something, but I want to explore all the options. I don't want it to be something she needs to make herself and the food needs to be good... she's a foodie!! Hoping for nothing insanely expensive.

We talked on and off through the whole concert, and we were up near the right side of the barricade behind a group of highschool seniors that came together. So I'm in a bit of a bind. I'm international and I'm struggling with iron and vitamin deficiencies (anemic as well) and am trying to get the appropriate infusions as OTC supplements have been insufficient. I have completed the necessary lab work. I have had a referral sent in from my school doctor, but haven't heard back for a month now (I am aware that wait times are long here). I feel it worsening. The dr. won't send a referral in for a private clinic, so I am kind of stuck. Do you have recommendations for iron + vitamin infusion clinics, preferably in the downtown Vancouver area.

TOP SHAW AUTO REPAIR

It’s a 2004 eclipse GT. It was running and driving before. By the sounds of it the belt was out of time or jumped a tooth and bent the valves when the mechanic turned over the engine.
He’s now trying to get her to foot the bill for his fuck up. On top of that he said he won’t compression test the junkyard engine he plans on replacing it with. So it could be a complete piece of junk

This is absolute bullshit, he’s trying to deflect blame all the usual crap. Has anyone been able get a mechanic like this to pay up for his mistakes. Trying to bill his insurance, anything?

Looking to hear from anyone working in commercial HVAC service and maintenance in BC/Metro Vancouver as an experienced journeyperson or foreman.

How steady has the workload been lately? Are most people working a standard 40 hour week, or is there enough work to consistently get 45-50 hours if you're willing to work overtime?

Particularly those working for larger commercial facilities management companies rather than residential HVAC or new construction.

I'd like to hear firsthand about overtime availability, how busy the industry has been, and the outlook heading into 2027.

I'm a 32 year old woman with an alcohol addiction and mental health issues. Alcohol is absolutely detroying my life and has been for 12 years now. I really want to stop. I have a psychologist I see weekly which is great but I've decided that I need more help for a little while to make this really big change. Does anyone have experince with treatment centres or any advice. I've done some research on my own and I'm really interested in the Heartwood program but I'm super open to other suggestions. It’s rather specific but my mom with her cancer needs to take Creon (pancreatic enzyme) and I was wondering if anyone was able to fill their prescription at pharmacies around Vancouver recently (its been facing a global shortage for awhile). Ive tried costco and safeway so far- Im going to try calling more pharmacies around me in the meanwhile but hoping to ask here in case anyone had any luck.

I am currently ordering salad kits through "Inspired Go" but the plastic waste is BRUTAL.

I enjoy the convenience and variety that Inspired Go has to offer but financially and environmentally I just can't support them anymore.

I noticed Fresh Prep has salad kits now, are they any better? Or have you tried any of the alternatives?

And yes, obviously I should make my own but I have my reasons for ordering the kits.
