The article is behind a paywall (I won't talk about different ways to read it). Of course we all know what's going on, but the article has a lot of interesting details, especially some pages from current school textbooks. The article is more convenient to read on a computer than on a phone.

Hello! I have a package from Belarus being shipped to me in Canada. It cleared export customs and left Belarus on October 8 (11 days ago) but hasn’t updated since. Is anyone familiar with how long it usually takes to arrive in the destination country after leaving Belarus? Much appreciated! 🙏

EDIT: For anyone who may come across this with the same question, my package has finally arrived in Canada on October 25 after 17 days!

Hi, I am a 26m Swedish citizen living in Stockholm recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in politics, for the past 2 years, I have really been struggling with getting any job here, the experience paradox and skill missmatch are rampant, simple jobs reject me for not having prior experience, and competition for anything is fierce. The rest of the EU doesn't look particularly promising either, so I would like to ask if it is possible for a person like me to do guest work in Belarus and if the situation is different over there, as I have heard Belarus is hiring more foreign guest workers due to existing demographic concerns (such a lower birth rates or emigration just to name a few).

P.S. I have heard that Belarus, despite reputation as the "North Korea of Europe", is now ironically safer than Russia, where the number one concern for men my age is being deceived or coerced into joining that country's army in its Ukraine War.

Despite legal protections, the Belarusian state is building a sprawling academy complex for the KGB on the grounds of a historic Catholic cemetery in the heart of Minsk, RFE/RL’s Belarus Service has found. Plans call for a swimming pool, a shooting gallery, and office suites for senior officials.

Hello all,

Does anybody know the best way to transfer money from Belarus to UK online?

Thank you

How would Belarus' position change if this was the reality tomorrow?

hi everyone! ♡
i’m 17, i’m from belarus, and i recently moved to minsk! i’m looking to make new friends, especially international people who currently live here!
i know moving to a new country can be difficult, and it can be pretty lonely when everything around you is unfamiliar. i thought it would be nice to meet people who might understand that feeling and would like to make some friends too.
i’d love to chat, get to know each other, hang out, explore the city, go for walks, get some coffee or just spend time together! i’m open to both online friendships and meeting up irl if we get along.
i’m also happy to meet belarusians who are looking for new friends! everyone is welcome.
my english isn’t perfect, but i’ll do my best! 🙂‍↕️ i might make mistakes sometimes, so please be patient with me haha.
if you’re interested, feel free to leave a comment or send me a dm! tell me a little about yourself. i’d love to get to know you :)

Hi there. I was curious about how you guys invest in Belarus.

I live in Spain and here we have access to the European stock market, the US stock market, and others. Most people keep their money in Euro and try to get 5 to 10% gain per year, if not a bit more, on their savings with mixed strategies of investment. The idea is to counteract inflation on flats which is around 10% per year (a lot).

Do you have access to invest in a normal way in Belarus or do you have to risk with other things such as crypto? Can you invest in your local stock market? is it good enough to give you 5 to 10% per year in Euro?

Hi, I got a bit of a silly question.

So I been visiting Belarus for the last 2 years to visit my partner's family in Babruisk and in Minsk.

I was looking for some cheesy souvenirs with Lukaschenkos face on it, like maybe a coffee mug or a t-shirt or something.

I thought something like this would be easy to find since in my homecountry of Luxembourg it's really common to find these kind of souvenirs with the Grand-Duke on them. But for now I haven't found anything similar in the souvenir shops.

Does anybody know a shop in Minsk or maybe Babruisk where I can find something like that?

Hi everyone,

Are there similar limitations for foreigners (tourist) to buy physical sim cards in Belarus atm like in Russia?

What about using visa card- is it like Russia that you need to bring cash or open a local bank account? And do I need a VPN for Whatsapp etc.?

Also, any recommended provider for esim?

Thanks!
