Finally walked the Walnut Street Bridge today

Randomly decided I was tired of sitting on the couch after work today and told my girlfriend throw some decent clothes on, we’re going for a walk. Parked at Ross’ Landing, took the riverwalk to the bridge, and was just in time to catch this stunning sunset.

Now why would you think that?

This is really funny to me. If it’s not a troll, why would a parent not look up what events you’re sending your kid to?

Halloween and trick & treaters

I love giving out sweets to the kiddos but this year I will be preparing for an event and will not have the time to answer the door to hand out sweeties. Im from the UK and relatively new to the community. Is it proper to set up a table with a bowl of candy in my yard for the kids to help themselves or would that be looked down upon? Should I just go dark and not participate this year?

Things To Do Rocky Horror

I took my pretty stranger to Barking Legs Theater to see the production of Rocky Horror Picture Show Friday night and we had a blast! They have two or three more nights this coming weekend, so if you’re looking for something fun to do with a happy crowd I strongly suggest you look into it. No spoilers but they really went all out!

Any other info? I admittedly learned this listening to another conversation at the doctor's office. Is it all Crust? Is it just moving somewhere? I thought signal mountain was hte only one that didn't have health inspection issues.

4 Bridges Review

This was my first year running the 4 bridges half marathon. I was curious what everyone else's thoughts were. There were a couple of things that surprised me... 1) Is it always that unorganized/hectic the morning of the race? The bathroom and drop bag lines were absurd. It definitely would have helped to have some lights brought in. 2) My Strava app said I ran 13.50 miles with an 8:55/mi pace and the official results said my pace was 9:09/mi. Is this normal for races to be a little longer than 13.1? 3) Luckily I did not have to use the restroom during the race but it seemed like I only saw 1 or 2 porta potties throughout the whole course. I couldn't imagine running the full. And last, I would have loved more signage to let us know what mile we are on, there were only a few. If I hadn't of been using Strava, I would have been wondering what mile I was on for a long time.

Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about because this is my first half marathon so wasn't sure what to expect. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and loved the amount of supporters that came out! However, likely wouldn't do this one again since I am from Chattanooga and so tired of running the Riverwalk.

My fiance and I are looking at getting married in 2028. We are trying to get an idea of what all our costs will be. Any suggestions for photographers with packages under $2k? I am struggling to find options.

Discussion *Legendary* Woven Treescape in Red Bank?

I can't find anything anywhere, (which nearly leads me to assume I've just made this up), but I'm fairly certain I read an article, possibly in the pulse, circa 2010-2015 about this elderly man, who (maybe) lived in the trees somewhere near the intersection of signal mountain blvd and mountain creek road.

He had created this shelter/ artistic expression out of weaving branches of trees in these woods over some extraordinary amount of years, and I remember in photos it seeming so magical, but also just not really much more than the trees themselves- so it was hidden well enough that it wasn't obvious from the outside.

I'm assuming they've clearcut the area by now, or at least torn it down, and also that the man has passed on by now, but I'm not even sure what to call it to look for it online; all my searches come up empty.

Please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about!

I'm thinking whatever I saw mentioned it was near the Laundromat there near la alteña and the old .. k mart? Whatever was there before tractor supply.

ETA- Maybe around when they were doing the nature kindergarten at RBES near there, for some reason I'm remembering those two close in both location & chronological proximity.

Jobs New grad CST pay in Chattanooga?

Hi all, I'm graduating soon as a surgical tech and looking at jobs in the Chattanooga area. For those working as CSTs here:

What's the typical starting hourly rate for a new grad?

Does it differ much between hospitals (Erlanger, CHI Memorial, Parkridge, etc.) and outpatient surgery centers?

Are there sign-on bonuses, shift differentials, or call pay I should ask about?

Any advice on negotiating as a new grad is welcome too. Thanks!
