On my 2024 DR with 10000miles I’ve noticed a couple of oil leaks around the engine recently. I found the one by the spark plugs first and cleaned the area to see if i could tell where it’s coming from. The only thing in that area that i’ve taken off is the valve covers to check/adjust valves and it doesn’t seem to be coming from there. The second is at the cam chain tensioner. What could be causing these small leaks and which gasket or o ring do i need to replace? And how do I prevent this happening again in the future, I plan on keeping the bike for as long as possible.

Does anyone have their old dog bones/suspension links? This one was lowered, and I need to get ahold of some oem length ones (I’ve already raised it up again, those dog bones are the last thing)

Also, from reading up in the forums I’m guessing racetech and cogent are the go-tos for suspension? I’ll be changing the springs front and rear (along with a rear shock rebuild) for my weight

Had this bike a few months. She's an old girl, 2001, with almost 30,000 miles. First couple months bike started up every time. Now the past month or so I have been having some problems starting the bike. First time was after not riding for about two weeks. Now it seems to be most mornings. The rest of the day it starts after I've ridden to school in the morning. I crank it for a while and it usually eventually starts after maybe 5-10 minutes. Choke and priming doesn't help. I've done some work since I had it and had a mechanic check it out when I bought it. Cleaned and rebuilt carb at the beginning of the summer and only use ethanol free fuel so I doubt it is the carb. The battery was old and when I replaced it the bike started right up faster than ever. Then the next morning it had a lot of trouble starting. Checked spark this morning after it would not start and seems fine but I am going to replace the plug anyways. It started up after I put the plug back in. Any ideas?

Hey guys, I think I know the answer but just in case there's something weird with these things... are anyone else's drain plug threads flattened? I bought this bike from the dealer, first owner, and I noticed it the first time I took the plug out. I had to ratchet it until the very last thread. I thought maybe it was because of the funny u-shaped crush washer, it sealed, and I moved on for 11k km without issue. if it shipped without oil (do they?), and the dealer put it in, I guess it would've been on them but it's too late for that more. Mow that I've done a few oil changes I'm starting to worry about it. I guess I can drill/tap or timesheet it if it gets really bad, I'm just curious if anyone's seen this on their bike.

So, I have a 2026 SUZUKI DR650. I do my own maintenance. I am having trouble finding feeler gauges.

Measurements for Intake: .08-.13mm
Exhaust: .17-22mm

I am in WA and can’t seem to find metric.

How does everyone else adjust their valves???

Fucking love this thing, stock tires are trash though

Hey everyone. Just got my first flat tire on the DR. I’m running waypoints with the original tubes. Had to ride on it a short distance to get home. Thinking I should replace the tire now in addition to the tube. Is anyone doing tubeless conversions on these bikes or should I stick with a inner tube? Also, if so should I get a heavy duty tube now? I do 50-50 riding for the most part.

Bit of a long shot I guess but you never know.

Just bought a used DR that came with a low Seat Concepts as well as the stock seat. I'm 6'4 so the low version isn't much good.

If anyone happens to be in the opposite situation and wants to swap, let me know!

Hey guys just updating on my 2016 dr650 that wasn’t running from an earlier post. The bike now idles perfectly but when I took it for a short ride it bogs under basically any throttle but sounds fine when the clutch is pulled in and revved. When accelerating it’s the same joltiness feeling as running out of fuel so I was wondering if you guys reckon the carb is getting starved of fuel.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

-changed long range tank back to stock
-got a gravity fed petcock for tank as the long distance petcock leaked on the stock tank(replaced with a raptor 660)
-new battery
-carb clean however the pilot jet was stripped so I just sprayed it with carb cleaner and air without taking it out
-compression test (150 psi)
-new spark plugs

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Having decision paralysis! I need a top rack to strap my milk crate to. I know there are lots of options out there for top racks, better ones I’m sure (personally I think the B&B Off-road one is the sleekest, but is outside my budget). These two, the Precision Motorcycle rack and the NiceCNC top rack are both affordable options. Leaning towards one of these, just can’t seem to make a final decision! Just curious if anyone has them and has any thoughts, or insight into why one might be better over the other. Thanks everyone!
