Welcome to Week 5 of our community series!
We've spent the past month discovering some of the best coffee shops, hidden gems, and budget eats around the city. Now it's time to settle one of Iloilo's biggest food debates.
Who serves the best Batchoy in Iloilo?
La Paz Batchoy is one of Iloilo's most iconic dishes and a source of pride for many Ilonggos. Every local seems to have a favorite, whether it's a famous institution that's been around for decades or a small neighborhood shop that deserves more recognition.
So, where should everyone go for their next bowl?
Happy eating! 🍜

Hi, just released an android app called "Lugar Lang" that aims to answer the question: "Ano nga jeep sakyan ko?"
I think this is something a lot of us commuters deal with, especially kung di ka pa familiar sa ruta sang mga jeep.
The app is simple: you pin your destination, and it suggests the best jeepney route and guides you step by step until you get there.
It’s still very early, so there may be bugs, incomplete route data, or route suggestions that aren’t fully accurate yet. That’s also why the app includes community voting, so users can upvote or downvote routes, and submit their own if they know a better route or notice one that’s still missing.
Everything is free without annoying ads.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thank you

Kaka miscarriage ko lang two weeks ago tapos another problem na naman.
I really need your help. I am not sure diin pwede kapamangkot or sino may idea. Na heart attack si father and gindala siya sa Guimbal hospital. Hambal sang staff didto na duwa lang options ya which is Western or TMC.. sa western kuno na accept na iya case but wala pa daw available and then TMC nalang ang other option.
Nagask ako kagina if diin siya pwede dal-on like sa iban na hospital na private like doctors or mission pero hambal nila na wala kuno stat? lab.
Nakakapang lumo.

Please help us find our cat, Mochi.
Last seen siya around Eon Centennial Homes area man just this morning.
If anyone has seen him, please please send me a DM. He is very sickly and has maintenance medication; he even needs prescription cat food so we are very worried that he is out on his own.
Appearance: Small black cat, hair is a bit long

I recently applied and had an initial interview with Sagility. Planning to apply kasi sa bpo in Iloilo, but according to the interviewer the starting salary for no exp like me is 15k + 3k allowances, tapos gy shift pa.
I’m from outside iloilo and im planning to move there and rent, so a 15k salary might be too tight for me. Any reco na bpo company na good for no exp/fresh grad? Di na siguro ko mag attend sa final interview ng sagility kay hindi negotiable ang basic salary nila

Last Saturday, our book club talked about books that had Religion or Spirituality as a theme. Each member spoke about a book of their choice. Here are some of titles we talked about:
Pasyon and Revolution by Reynaldo Clemena Ileto
The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky
Paradise Lost by John Milton
The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
Jerusalem: The Biography by Simon Sebag Montefiore
The Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
The Plague by Albert Camus
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Laurus by Eugene Vodolazkin
Why I Am Not a Christian by Bertrand Russell
We had a spirited and enjoyable discussion! There were lots of great perspectives and meaningful questions were asked.
Next month’s pick was selected from a poll of technology-themed titles. We’re going to talk about Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World. Send me a message if you wish to join the conversation.

Hello everyone! I would like to ask for some advice on how to process a request for financial assistance here in Iloilo City.
I’m hoping to get some financial help for personal career-related expenses, particularly for application purposes that may require me to travel to Manila. It’s not necessarily healthcare-related assistance, so I’m not sure which office or program I should approach.
I’ve heard that I can inquire through our congresswoman’s office or DSWD, but I’m not really familiar with the process, requirements, or whether my situation would qualify.
For those who have tried applying for assistance before, could you share where I should start, what documents I might need, and which office I should visit first?
I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance. Thank you!

This is a post from a runner whom I assume after stalking is an MD married to another runner MD.
Isn’t it troubling that such physical activity is manned by people not equipped for such events?
Kadamo sang ga intra, both physically fit and casual joiners, kadako sang gina bayad, but then, amo lang ni ang quality sang medical team nga gina kwa nila?
The OP even stated na may mga DJs every KM sa funrun event nga ni. The organizers spend so much sa DJs, kits, medals and all pero sa safeguard sang mga participants, gina tipid?
Does the city oversee these events? If not, sino dapat ang ga oversee sini?
These events have become unsafe na both for the participants and sa mga non-participants nga gaka aksidente due to unprecedented road closures because of poor implementations by the organizers and the city.

Hello. My partner and I have been together for almost two years, and I've noticed a pattern in our relationship. He seems to have an avoidant attachment style, while I tend to have an anxious attachment style.
We are both only children. He was raised by his grandmother from the age of two months, and he has always told me that whenever he feels bad, he tends to go somewhere no one can find him. He may isolate himself for hours or even days and return when he feels better. In our relationship, he tends to avoid difficult conversations.
On the other hand, I feel extremely anxious when he doesn't address our issues right away. I'm terrified that he might leave me at any moment.
He's a great man, and I believe we simply have differences that we need to understand and work through. I want to understand each other better, including our patterns, emotional responses, and personal histories, with professional guidance so we can build a healthy and lasting relationship.
Could you recommend a good therapist in the city and give me an idea of how much therapy usually costs? I want us to go both.

PLEASE RESPECT MY POST. MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS.
Hello everybody! Parecommend naman ng pinakadabest na psychologist dito sa iloilo. Madami kasi na mahal pero hindi naman maayos ang service. Idk, first time ko kasi and madami akong nakikita na parang hindi satisfied, kaya nga one of my friends sa cebu pa nagpapapsych. I asked him already and ayaw nya magrecommend. Pero sa province kasi kami so idk if dito sa iloilo city meron ba? Or if may nasa province man pwde nyo din isuggest. PWDE PO PA DROP NALANG DIN IF MAGKANO PO..SALAMAT.
This is for my 12 yo brother and nakakakita po ako ng signs of depression, i badly want to help him.
