How to Grow? I got sick of getting trapped in useless AI chatbot loops, so I built a public Hall of Shame to rank the worst ones.

Post image
• Upvotes

Every company recently rushed to replace human customer service with AI bots that can't solve basic problems, hallucinate policies, or hand you off to a human. I am having the worst time with this AI slop, too. Just recently, I paid for something, and it didn't work. The amount of work I went through to get a refund is crazy. Even worse, I still haven't gotten my money back; I have to wait 21 days to see if I get it back at all. I was so pissed off I built this project: a place to rank your worst AI customer experiences, share your story, and publicly shame what is bad.

You can check it out and see if you want to share your story and rank the AI you want. There might be bugs and all, which I would be grateful if you could tell me if you guys find them. Heads up: Since this is an early side project, it's hosted on Render's free tier, so the first load might take ~30–45s to wake up if the server is asleep!

It’s live now with no fake seeded reviews. Would love your feedback.

How to Grow? Me and My founder have started to create a new oral toothpaste brand which is called Mouth first.

• Upvotes

My co-founder and I are building an oral care brand in Hyderabad called Mouth First.

We started it because almost every toothpaste is sold on the same things: cleaning, whitening, killing germs. Almost nobody talks about how your mouth actually feels. Burning from strong mint, a dry mouth, taste getting overpowered after brushing. We think clean is the minimum, not the goal.

Our first two products are Reset (freshness without taking over your taste) and Balance (for a mouth that needs a moisture feel).

But before we go further, I want to understand how people actually think about this:

  1. Apart from cavities and bad breath, do you ever think about your oral health?
  2. Have you heard the idea that the mouth is connected to the rest of the body’s health? What do you think of it?
  3. Is there anything about your current toothpaste you dislike, like too strong, burning, or a dry feeling?

Honest answers welcome, including “never thought about it”.

Case Study Skin brightening on Amazon India sells ₹309.9 crore a year. Glutathione takes 34%, and one product is a third of that.

impuls8 tracks consumer markets. We read who sells, at what price, on which platform.

Glutathione is everywhere in Indian skin care right now: pills, serums, soaps, face washes. We wanted to know how much of the brightening money the ingredient actually takes. We read every product Amazon India shows for four glutathione searches and two brightening searches: 740 listings. We opened every one that shows sales.

Our measure: Amazon's "bought in past month" figure at its lower bound, times the price, times twelve. Read on 22 October, during the festive sale and before Diwali.

Skin brightening on Amazon India sells at least ₹309.9 crore a year. Listings that name glutathione take ₹105.1 crore, 33.9%.

One ingredient, two shelves

Skin products Pills and powders Total
Names glutathione ₹67.2 crore ₹38.0 crore
Does not ₹204.7 crore none
All ₹271.9 crore ₹38.0 crore

Most glutathione money is in skin products, not pills: 63.9% against 36.1%. Every pill on the shelf names glutathione. On the skin side it is one active among many, and takes 24.7%.

One listing carries the ingredient

Brand Owner Form Sales a year Share of glutathione money
NICONI Indian independent Skin products ₹33.3 crore 31.7%
Vaseline Multinational Skin products ₹8.2 crore 7.8%
Carbamide Forte Indian independent Pills and powders ₹6.9 crore 6.6%
HK Vitals Indian D2C Pills and powders ₹6.0 crore 5.7%
Pilgrim Indian D2C Skin products ₹3.8 crore 3.6%
Wellbeing Nutrition Acquired D2C Pills and powders ₹3.3 crore 3.1%

NICONI's Tan Vanish Gluta-Kojic Skin Polish sells 20,000+ a month at ₹1,389. That is ₹33.3 crore a year: 31.7% of all glutathione money, on one listing. NICONI is made by Sun Chem (India), a Mumbai company in business since 1985.

Take that one listing out and Indian D2C brands lead the glutathione money, with 40.0% of it.

Who takes the whole shelf

Owner group Share of sales
Indian D2C 34.8%
Multinational 19.6%
Indian independent 13.0%
D2C, now owned by a larger company 10.3%
Korean 9.2%
Indian corporate 7.5%
Owner unconfirmed 5.5%

Indian D2C brands take 34.8%, up to 40.4% if every brand whose owner we have not confirmed is D2C. D2C brands that a larger company has bought take another 10.3%: Minimalist and OZiva (HUL), Plix (Marico), Wellbeing Nutrition (USV), Dermatouch (Wipro).

Counted as one company, HUL is the largest seller, at 10.9%, through Lakme, Minimalist, OZiva, Pond's, Vaseline.

The price

Median listing price
Names glutathione
Does not name it
Glutathione skin product
Glutathione pill or powder

A glutathione skin product costs less than one without it. It sells in soaps, lotions and face washes at mass prices. The pill sells at a supplement price.

What share of each company's sales this is

Company Reported revenue On this shelf Share
Minimalist (FY26) ₹690 crore ₹20.1 crore 2.9%
Pilgrim (FY25) ₹408 crore ₹12.6 crore 3.1%
Deconstruct (FY25) ₹130 crore ₹8.3 crore 6.4%
Dermatouch (FY26) ₹131 crore ₹4.2 crore 3.2%

We wrote down 8 predictions first

3 of 8 held. These did not:

  • We said: The shelf sells ₹80 to ₹250 crore a year. We found: ₹309.9 crore.
  • We said: Pills take over half of the glutathione money. We found: 36.1%.
  • We said: Indian D2C brands take over 40% of the shelf. We found: 34.8%, or 45.1% with acquired D2C.
  • We said: The largest glutathione brand is an Indian supplement brand. We found: NICONI, skin products.
  • We said: The top three brands take over 35% of the shelf. We found: 22.1%.

If you are building in skin care or supplements

We can read this shelf on Nykaa, Flipkart, quick commerce and your competitors' own sites, and read it again to show what moved.

Other D2C folks, what conversion would you expect from scratch-card offers shown to 1.5 lakh+ daily cab users?

• Upvotes

Thought experiment, tbh curious what people think. Say 15 D2C brands, some well known, some regular, put their offers on scratch cards that go to 1.5 lakh+ cab users every day, for 30 days. What conversion would you expect, 0.25%, 1%, 5%? At 1% that is roughly 1,500 orders a day, about 100 a day per brand. How do you think that splits between the strong and regular brands, 50:50, 70:30, 20:80? And as a smaller brand, would you try it if you only paid per net sale, with no upfront spend? Would love real numbers if anyone has run something similar.

Case Study How I chose between MongoDB and Postgres for a multi-tenant education SaaS- AttendEase

I've been building AttendEase a multi-tenant SaaS for colleges (attendance, timetables, exams, fees). One of the earliest decisions I had to make was the database. I went back and forth for a while, so sharing what I landed on and why, in case it helps anyone building something similar.

The context:
Multi-tenant educational platform. Each college is its own tenant. Core data: students, teachers, courses, branches, semesters, attendance records, timetable slots, exam schedules, fee transactions. Plus flexible per-tenant configuration branding, exam structure, custom roles, plan feature flags.

Why I considered MongoDB first:
The flexible configuration part scared me. Every college has slightly different exam structures, different branding, different role definitions. With a relational DB, that's a lot of schema changes or awkward key-value tables. MongoDB's document model handles that naturally just store the config as a JSON document per tenant.

Why I moved toward Postgres for the core:
The more I thought about actual queries, the more relational the core data looked. Attendance reports are "all students in section X, for subject Y, in semester Z, between two dates." Exam conflict detection is "any two exams in the same section on the same date with overlapping time." Fee reports are joins across students, courses, and transactions. These are exactly the queries relational databases are built for. In MongoDB, these become aggregation pipelines that are harder to write, harder to debug, and slower to iterate on.

What I actually did:
Hybrid. Core relational data students, attendance, timetables, exams, fees lives in Postgres with proper foreign keys and indexes. Flexible per-tenant configuration branding colors, exam structure, feature flags lives in JSONB columns on the tenant table. Postgres handles both. JSONB gives me document flexibility where I need it, without giving up relational guarantees on the parts that matter.

The lesson:
Don't pick a database because it's "easier to start with." Pick it based on what your queries will look like a year from now, when you have 50 tenants and 500,000 attendance records. The schema flexibility of a document store feels great on day one, but the moment you need cross-entity reporting or conflict detection, you'll wish you had joins.

When I'd still pick MongoDB:
If the data is genuinely document-shaped content, logs, event streams, user-generated JSON Mongo is fine. But if you find yourself writing aggregation pipelines that look like SQL joins, that's your sign.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's making a similar call or stuck on multi-tenant schema design.

Case Study I've spent 5 years fixing customer experience at Verizon, Chime, Instacart, and Clipboard Health. Now I'm applying the same systems thinking to small businesses - here's what I found.

Every company I've worked with — Verizon, Chime, Instacart, and most recently Clipboard Health (YC-backed) — had one thing in common.

They understood that growth doesn't end when you acquire a customer. That's where it begins.

They obsessed over the entire customer journey: acquisition, activation, retention, referrals, and revenue. Every stage was an opportunity to improve the customer experience and build a more sustainable business.

But here's what I've noticed while speaking with business owners across industries:

Most businesses focus heavily on acquiring customers and leave the rest to chance.

Whether it's a gym, dental clinic, coaching institute, wedding photography business, D2C brand, SaaS company, or professional services firm, the symptoms often look surprisingly similar:

→ Spending thousands on ads without knowing which channels actually drive paying customers.

→ Acquiring customers but having no structured onboarding or activation process.

→ Watching customers disappear without understanding why they left.

→ Having no systematic way to generate referrals, repeat purchases, or re-engagement.

→ Competing on price because they haven't built a compelling reason for customers to stay.

These aren't always marketing problems. Often, they're customer lifecycle problems disguised as marketing problems.

A gym losing half its members every 90 days doesn't necessarily need more leads. It might need a better retention system.

A dental clinic with hundreds of inactive patients might not need a bigger advertising budget. It might need a structured reactivation strategy.

An online business with healthy traffic but poor conversions might not need more visitors. It might need to fix what's happening between the first click and the first purchase.

Different businesses. Different challenges. The same underlying question:

Where are you losing customers, revenue, and growth opportunities — and what can you do about it?

That's why I started Kova Growth Systems.

The goal is simple: help businesses build structured, measurable growth systems across the entire customer journey.

From acquisition and activation to retention, referrals, and revenue — identifying the gaps, prioritising what matters, and building practical systems to close them.

Not more marketing for the sake of marketing. Not vanity metrics. Not growth hacks that stop working in a month.

Just a more systematic way to grow.

I'm opening up a few slots for a free 20-minute Growth Audit.

You'll get a one-page scorecard highlighting potential growth leaks in your customer journey, the areas worth investigating first, and practical next steps tailored to your business.

No obligation. No hard pitch. Just a fresh perspective on your growth.

If you're building a business and feel like you're working hard to acquire customers but not getting enough value from them, let's talk.

Startup help Building Enroll IQ — an AI-powered School Growth + ERP platform for India. 15 schools already enrolled for the upcoming financial year. Looking for early-stage investors / strategic partners.

Hi everyone,

I’m the founder of Enroll IQ, an AI-powered education growth and management platform built for schools and educational institutions in India.

We have already started validating the product directly with the market, and 15 schools have enrolled with Enroll IQ for the upcoming financial year, while we continue discussions with additional institutions.

The problem we identified is simple: many schools currently depend on multiple disconnected platforms for admissions, student management, communication, academics, transport, marketing, and reporting.

Enroll IQ brings these functions together into one connected ecosystem.

Core platform

• AI-powered Admission CRM

• Lead capture from campaigns, websites and landing pages

• AI lead scoring and automated follow-ups

• Counselor pipeline and performance tracking

• WhatsApp broadcasts and communication workflows

• Student Information System (SIS)

• Attendance, fees, homework and announcements

• Exams and report cards

• Parent-school communication

• Live school bus / transport tracking

• Management dashboards and analytics

AI capabilities

We are also building AI directly into everyday school operations:

• AI Poster Generator – schools can create marketing and social media creatives directly within Enroll IQ using a credit-based generation system

• AI Exam Generator – teachers can generate question papers and academic assessments based on subject, class, syllabus, difficulty level and other requirements

• AI Admission Intelligence – lead scoring, follow-up recommendations and admission insights

• AI-powered reminders, reporting and management insights

Our vision is bigger than building another traditional school ERP.

We want Enroll IQ to become the operating system + growth engine for schools — helping institutions manage students while also improving admissions, parent communication, marketing and operational efficiency from a single platform.

Current traction

15 schools enrolled for the upcoming financial year

We are initially building our presence in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with plans to expand across India as the product and sales network scale.

We are looking for

We’re now interested in connecting with:

• Angel investors

• EdTech investors

• B2B SaaS investors

• Education industry entrepreneurs

• Strategic partners

Capital is important, but we are particularly interested in investors who can also contribute EdTech expertise, SaaS scaling experience, school networks or strategic market access.

Use of funds

Investment would primarily be deployed toward:

• Product & AI development

• Engineering team expansion

• Sales team expansion

• School onboarding

• AI infrastructure

• Third-party integrations

• Marketing & geographic expansion

If you're an investor, founder or operator interested in EdTech / B2B SaaS, I'd be happy to privately share our product demo, roadmap, business model and expansion plans.

Website: enrolliq.io

Email: nainisandeepreddy@gmail.com

Feedback from SaaS founders and education-sector professionals is also welcome.

Case Study why are founders still paying heavy money for SEO agencies? genuine question.

maybe I’m tripping, but the whole SEO agency model feels dead for early-stage startups. used to think you needed semrush + consultant just to figure out what to write. this week I tried hooking up search console to an AI agent (tested a bunch of stuff—claude MCPs, qelvra.in, custom scripts) and literally just asked "traffic kyun gira" and got the exact broken links + pages losing clicks in 30 seconds. even showed why perplexity/chatgpt was citing our competitor instead of us.

for founders still paying monthly agency retainers—what are they doing for you that automated AEO/SEO agents can't do right now? backlinks? or just peace of mind?

Business Ride Along We built a dating app with intent for people who actually want a relationship. Raising ₹10–20L via CCPS from serious investors. Hyderabad - IndiaStartup Ready

Most of you know me from my earlier posts here about dating app burnout. I said I was building something different. The app is now ready, and I’m raising a small round to launch it properly.

What we built

It’s a dating app with intent. It isn’t built for endless swiping or for collecting matches to feel good about yourself. It’s for people who want to meet someone and see where it goes.

  • Verified people only. We’re launching in Hyderabad with working professionals, verified through their work email. This cuts down fake profiles and low-effort users.
  • Limited, curated profiles. You get a small set of profiles once a day, not an infinite feed.
  • A hard cap on active conversations. You can talk to a maximum of 5 people at a time. Nobody can give real attention to 30 chats, and the cap pushes people to engage with the people they’ve chosen.
  • No countdown-clock anxiety. The app nudges you to respond without a ticking “your match expires in 3 hours” timer.

We’re starting with one city and one audience, getting retention and conversation quality right, and then expanding.

The raise

  • Amount: ₹10–20 lakhs
  • Structure: CCPS (Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares)
  • Use of funds: launch and user acquisition in Hyderabad, product iteration, and early team costs
  • Stage: The product is built and ready to launch.

Please reach out only if:

  • You’re an angel or individual investor who can invest ₹10–20L in this range.
  • You’re comfortable with CCPS and with early-stage risk, and understand this could go to zero.
  • You’re ready for a real conversation about terms, valuation, and diligence, and can back it with real capital.

Please don’t reach out if:

  • You’re just curious, want to “pick my brain,” or want free advice.
  • You’re a service provider, agency, or freelancer pitching me.
  • You want guaranteed returns or aren’t comfortable with startup risk.

If this fits, DM me with a short intro: who you are, your investing background, and the ticket size you have in mind. I’ll reply to serious messages with the deck, the product demo, and the details. I’m happy to answer questions in the comments too, but please keep the investment discussion in DMs.

We’re looking for Social Media & Content Interns at GreenDeal Hub

Currently in college and interested in writing, social media, and sustainability? We’d like to hear from you.

GreenDeal Hub is a B2b sourcing agency who helps clients procure anything and everything sustainable. We mainly deal with large corporate institutions and high end brands.

  • Managing and planning social media content.
  • Writing captions, posts, and brand copy.
  • Researching relevant trends and bringing fresh content ideas.
  • Working closely with the founder to shape how GreenDeal Hub communicates.

You don’t need a long résumé. We’re looking for clear writing, curiosity, consistency, and the willingness to take ownership. An interest in nature and sustainability would make the work more meaningful for you.

A few things to know upfront:

The first two months will be a probation period, with no stipend, it would be given after 2 months . Performance-based payment may be offered during this period, with expectations and payment criteria agreed before you join.

The internship will be covered by a written formal agreement. There’s also potential to move into a full-time role, depending on your performance and the startup’s hiring needs.

Interested? DM me with a short introduction and a couple of writing samples, social media posts, or college projects you’ve worked on.

How do I? Roast my idea of starting a dips and dressings brand before I burn all my money

I love how much simple dips and dressings and elevate snacks, sandwiches, salads, wraps and in my opinion pretty much everything.

I want to take a more farm to table approach on this and keep is simple and clean ingredients with a more Indian flair.

Here are my questions:
1. How much do dips and dressings matter to you and how do you use it in a week?

  1. What’s the price range and quantity I should be looking at?

  2. What are your favourite flavours and brands?

Co-founder search Small business owners: what's one admin task that still requires too much manual work?

I’m a full-stack developer who builds custom AI tools and business automations.

I’m particularly interested in the unglamorous work that quietly eats up hours every week — moving data between spreadsheets, sorting documents, updating CRMs, preparing reports, or chasing customer responses.

I’m not looking to build another generic AI chatbot. I want to understand a real workflow, identify what can safely be automated, and build a practical solution around it.

If you run a small business, I’d be interested to know:

What task do you repeat every week?

Which tools are involved?

What still needs to be done manually?

Roughly how many hours does it cost you each month?

If there's a clear fit, I can explore a scoped custom solution. I'd rather solve one specific problem properly than promise to automate an entire business.

Genuine experiences and examples are appreciated.

Hey guys,

So, i have been following ganesh founder of think school from almost 7 years and recently he has started to market his masterclass of communications

So, thinking of taking that

Is it worth taking or just another workshop over the internet

What does he teach

Like communications in the sense the Grammer?😂(hopefully not)

Or is it the people's game like how to convince or get the other person into our perspective?

Co-founder search Building an "Open-World" Hyperlocal Marketplace for Tier 2/3 Towns in India

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey Reddit Family,

I am a 22-year-old recent college graduate. Instead of looking for a normal corporate office job, I want to start a business that helps small towns and villages in India.

Big apps like Zomato, Swiggy, and Dunzo only work in big cities. Small towns have no such systems. I want to build a local platform to change this.

🚀 How It Works

It is a simple online system that connects local people, workers, and shop owners together. We are just the middleman providing the technology.

  • For Workers: Total freedom. If you have 1 free hour, you can open our simple website or scan a QR code. Look for a quick delivery or small job nearby, finish it, and earn money immediately. You work only when you want to. No strict hours.
  • For Shop Owners (like Pizza shops or Grocery stores): Total control. If you have your own delivery boy, use him. But if your delivery boy is busy or absent, you can click a button to send the order to our network. Any free local worker can pick it up and deliver it for you.
  • All-in-One Website: People hate downloading too many apps. You won't need separate apps for food, groceries, or electricians. Everything will be inside one simple webpage. You can open it easily through WhatsApp or by scanning a QR code at local shops.

🏡 Why I Am Doing This (The "Bharat" Dream)

Many young people leave villages to work in big cities. In big cities, they get everything delivered instantly with a phone click. But when they come back home to their village, there is nothing. I want our small towns to have the same technology. This will help local shops grow and keep money inside our own villages.

⚠️ My Big Challenges (I Need Advice)

I am a bit nervous because managing this will be a big challenge:

  1. Trust & Safety: Since anyone can sign up to work, safety is very important. I plan to do physical home visits and check ID cards of workers before letting them join to make sure everyone is safe.
  2. Tech Costs: Building official smartphone apps and getting official WhatsApp systems can be very expensive. I want to build a simple, lightweight mobile website instead to save costs.

💬 Let's Talk!

  • To Business Owners & Founders: Do you think this plan will work in small Indian towns? What problems might I face?
  • To Software Developers: I have the complete business plan ready, but I need a tech partner. If you know how to build websites and want to build something real for India's small towns, please message me!

What do you think about my idea? Let's discuss in the comments! 👇

How do I? Is company registration in a week realistic in 2026?

I work on Rize, so I'm biased, and I'm after real numbers rather than quoted ones. DSCs, name approval and MCA processing seem to decide it. For those who incorporated recently, how many working days did yours take, and which step was slowest?

Co-founder search Help Build the Next Generation of AI-Powered Governance — Chaos AI Labs Is Expanding Its Founding Team

What if government teams had the AI tools they needed to coordinate faster, respond to citizens more effectively, and make better-informed decisions?
That is the problem we are working to solve at Chaos AI Labs.
We are an early-stage technology venture building practical AI solutions for real-world challenges across governance, public administration, healthcare, and agriculture.
Our key initiative, Dharma Setu, is an AI-powered administrative support platform designed to help government officers:
Coordinate across departments
Manage and track citizen grievances
Allocate tasks efficiently
Monitor government schemes
Improve collaboration and accountability
Make faster, better-informed decisions
We already have a team working on the venture, and we are currently in discussions with several state governments regarding potential collaborations and pilot opportunities. As the opportunity develops, we are expanding our founding team and connecting with investors and strategic partners who believe AI can play a meaningful role in public-sector transformation.
This is not a concept being developed in isolation. Our product direction is taking shape, our team is already active, and conversations with government stakeholders are helping us understand real administrative needs and potential deployment opportunities.
We are looking for people who want more than a conventional role—people who are ready to take ownership, solve complex problems, and help build products with measurable real-world impact.
Areas where we’d love to connect:
AI/ML Engineers — LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and applied machine learning
Full-Stack Developers — React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and scalable web applications
AI Researchers and Architects — system design, evaluation, reliability, and responsible AI
Product and UX Designers — transforming complex administrative workflows into intuitive products
Public Policy and Governance Professionals — government processes, institutional requirements, and public-sector implementation
Business Development and Strategy Professionals — partnerships, pilots, stakeholder engagement, and go-to-market planning
Investors and Strategic Partners — supporting AI-driven governance and public-sector innovation
We are open to conversations with people interested in:
Joining the founding team
Full-time roles
Part-time collaboration
Strategic partnerships
Investment opportunities
The right opportunity will depend on mutual fit, experience, commitment, and the value each person can bring to the mission.
If this resonates with you, comment below or send me a DM with:
A brief introduction
Your core skills, experience, or investment focus
The role or type of collaboration you are interested in
How you believe you could contribute to Chaos AI Labs
If you know someone who should be part of this conversation, please share this post with them.
We are building AI for problems that matter—and we are looking for the people who want to help build it.
