In the real world that would be wildly unsafe, and SR is still being calculated for as long as there are cars still completing the race, so it matters what happens after the finish. Completing an entire session with 0 incidents only to run in to the back of someone to get a x4 is frustrating as heck

iRacing, your netcode is shocking, somehow even worse then what some drivers are.

How is this going to be addressed?

Got my first podium yesterday, P 3 it was only rookie but I'm still proud, still new to the sport. Still have a lot to learn. But man was it a blast. Took me three months. Skipped the desk set up went right to profile rig from the beginning.

How do you make the choice personally?

I wish iRating was more nuanced from class to class. I am a lower split driver and my iRating usually floats between 1300-1600, but only if I stick to Rookie MX5 and GT4. But everytime I dip my toes into GT3 I find myself wayyyy off pace, I think at Mugello this week by BEST laps are about 4-5 seconds slower than the leaders in my given split. I know I just need to practice more and find my flow with new tracks but man does it hurt. 1400 SOF in GT4 and 1400 SOF in GT3 are waayyyyy different (at least to me).

How long did it take y’all to find pace in GT3? I love the cars but hot lapping in last place isn’t that fun and I’m sure my iRating will be below 1000 (again) very soon.

Every other time I try to get on and do some races this error or something similar pops up and no matter what I do it simply won’t let me join. Any fix to this?

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for listening to my very beginner question. I purchased iRacing yesterday and decided to run some laps on the current mx5 track okayama short course.

Over many laps of spinning out and getting a feel for the car, I started to actually get to know the track and I ended up putting getting a time of 1:01.240 (without driving lines). I think I felt fast, but I don't actually know if this is considered a good time. My question: is there a way I can see where my time stacks against other drivers (or maybe more importantly, other rookies)?

I think my next goal is to get consistency in my laps, even if my times are significantly worse than the one above. Then maybe AI racing and then the real thing?

I'm very excited to join this hobby!

Any other tips and tricks for a new player would be greatly appreciated!

So as the title says, I just reached D class for formula.

Ive been exclusively racing sports cars, mainly PCup, so formula is quite new for me.

I bought the F4 and im gonna run that for a bit.

Of course, seat time is going to be the biggest factor, but beyond that, for sake of discussion and words of wisdom for not only myself, but future sim racers as well, what tips/tricks, mindsets, perspectives etc etc has helped you guys improve your pace, car control, racecraft, accident avoidance etc for formula style driving/racing?

Any hints or tips or how to take the kerbs at the red bull ring in the fixed European series this week.

Sometimes it's fine other times I get sent off track or spin.

I have noticed gentler braking and almost lifting before turn in helps but unsure whether there is a very specific line to take or not ..

Can add a lap video if anyone needs it to show what I'm doing.

G29, 2-3 months of iRacing.

No gloves

1 hour a day, in 2-3 sessions.

I practice the gentle hands techniques, but still noticed my palms and pads of fingers are getting sore.

I work at a desk, and I'm used to all the repetitive injuries info, that's not a worry for me.. but I wondered if anyone else experienced this early on?

I'm just starting to use padded weight lifting gloves and bought bicycle grip tape, so help with grip.

Motorcyclist, play guitar, but have suffered with rsi before. No longer a youngin.

Just wanna be cautious. Maybe I'm over doing it?

Looking to see if anyone else has experienced this issue. This has happened numerous times to me so far. I am in the middle of a race, in this instance the beginning of a race, and the sim stutters once, then freezes, and boots me out of the sim with no error messages.

Note the quality bars in the upper left corner of the video. Latency and Quality are perfectly fine, yes I am wireless and 15 feet from my Fios router.

Running a GEForce RTX 5080ti with a AMD 9800x3D. I already reached out to iRacing, but curious what others have seen.

Passed the finish line with zero incidents, half way through turn one a car behind me slammed into me very intentionally, I end up with 4 incident points. This was my first time that I considered filing a protest but I did a bad job of making a video clip and it wasn’t the right section so no go on the protest. Seriously bummed that after crossing the line I still ended up with points. Next time I guess I just have to be extra aware and quit before something happens.

When it comes to aesthetics the 996 GT3 is one of my Porsche favourites and I would love to have an additional, maybe b-licensed PCup with this beauty.

I personally love these pure racing machines without driving aids. Could be an iconic series imo.

I had a break for a season, I comeback with this season, I know I had a break and car been update, but I find a car really difficult to drive after recent update. Is it just only me?
