Hello, and welcome to our monthly music discussion thread!
These threads are a great place to discuss other music you've been listening to, music you've found/created that you think other Muse fans would like, or just general discussion about whatever you'd like that is not Muse related.
Rules 1 and 3 will be relaxed, but please keep in mind that all other rules remain standing.

So pleased with how these turned out. And I know someone will say “vinyls are for playing” - don’t worry, I bought multiples so I could play them. This album is so special I just had to get it displayed. A masterpiece IMO.

Took my son to their first Muse concert this summer. He became, and is, obsessed with the band after that experience. He said he wanted to be “the Will of the People guy” for Halloween. So, a few hours of 3D printing and some very annoying metallic tape later, here we are.
Thought you’d all appreciate it.

So. We finally did it.
The end of the road.
This game was an absolute blast for me to play, and I hope it was for you too. I know for some of you it really wasn't, and boy did you let me know. But, after 26 daily parts over nearly a month, we finally built the worst possible Muse setlist.
As a reminder: No variations of songs were allowed. No "this song but...", no twists that make ok songs unlistenable, only real Muse songs, in the worst order possible to make the experience as unpleasant as possible. This was not a ‘worst song’ ranking or a ‘put shit songs together’ list. It was a list where songs wouldn’t transition well and sound out of place if played live.
Additionally: No repeated songs or remixes
And now, after all this hard work and multiple different ideas fighting for control, here is what we settled on:
1) Intro
2) (JFK)
3) Interlude
4) Get Up And Fight
5) Something Human
6) Knights Of Cydonia
7) Man With A Harmonica
8) Drones
9) Execution Commentary
10) Will Of The People
11) The 2nd Law: Isolated System
12) Overdue
13) Dig Down
14) Compliance
15) (Drill Sergeant)
16) Explorers
17) Who Knows Who
18) Propaganda
19) Falling Away With You
20) Psycho
21) Ghosts (How Can I Move On)
22) Feeling Good
23) Soldier's Poem
Encore
1) Save Me 2) We Are Fucking Fucked 3) Prelude
Total length: 1 hour 24 minutes
Now I know what you're thinking: "Damn, this setlist sucks. I wish I could listen to a playlist of it right now". Well guess what? You can! Kinda
I have compiled this whole list into a single Spotify playlist which you can listen to right here. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the song Who Knows Who isn't actually available on Spotify. I've replaced it with a different song from The Streets from around the same time and with the same length of 3 minutes and 24 seconds, and that is unfortunately the best I could do.
For those of you who might be thinking: "But, why is that song I like in the setlist? Why is that song I hate not on the setlist?", I have a short answer and a long answer. The short answer is that you either didn't submit a comment when you had the time or didn't get enough upvotes to get added to the setlist, and for that I'm sorry. But the long answer is, the real worst Muse setlist was inside our hearts all along. This is only one version of the worst Muse setlist, and if you think you can make a better version, that is noble, and just as legitimate as this one. In the end, we are all the worst Muse setlist possible, but no variations of songs are allowed. And isn't that a beautiful world to live in?
TL;DR Here's the spotify link for the playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6KaGOeTWHpO4yAOQgfJ2l6?si=SCpkCO5jS3eHuO8J_HqD6Q

I'm scared Hexagons is not getting the love it deserves and won't be in the EU setlist?
Am I paranoid? It's my favourite song from the album and it sounds SO MUCH like Muse, I had missed that. I really hope it will make it in the setlists.
What do you think?

Some days ago I posted this at A Perfect Circle reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/aperfectcircle/s/2je50H64bX
And I thought I'd learn a lesson so I started avoiding options like APC, Steven Wilson and many others that could cause him to cry again by hearing melodic and melancholic music.
This doesn't mean I have full control of what he's listening all day long, just when I'm in the car with him going for example to buy freshly baked bread or some ice cream after a long hot day.
But this time I didn't saw it coming... Buckle up it's a long story
We were going on a trip to get some stuff I bought for our house but it was a long drive, an hour and half away maybe. So I figure it out, let's listen some Muse on shuffle and won't affect him deeply that could drive him to tears. (Who's getting the reference?)
How...wrong... was...I!
I was pending of him by the rearview mirror and saw him air drumming to Knights of Cydonia, The Dark Forest, Uprising, New Born...those kinds of songs that has that galloping rhythm you know... He was having a blast and absolutely happy and that lasted like 10-15 songs.
But then Blackout started to play, unlucky for me I was very focus on the route because of Waze and all that stuff so I sort of knew that song was playing but not focused enough to realize that's a melodic, melancholic and soulful song.
After some minutes into the Blackout I saw him with his face facing down and covering his eyes and not moving that much, he was very still after so many air drumming from before, and then saw him weeping but like it was being hurt by a bite of a bug or that it could be something sharp bother him in his car seat.
I ask him, is it the song that's making you sad? And he replied.
Daddy this song it's beautiful.
I couldn't take it...and made me cried a little. His response was straight forward and he didn't add anything else just... this song it's beautiful.
Had to park someplace to wipe and clean his face and my face, hugged him, said to him I love him very much and tell him if he's ever feel sad again with another song I will do anything for him to help him out to go through his emotions.
He's only 5 yrs old and all his knowledge about English is still on the basics. Which makes it even more heartbreaking in a good sense to see him react like this to music.
I shouldn't but I love that he reacts like that to music. Because I'm also like that but don't know if this is right to put him through emotions like this at so young age.
Fans, moms, dads...what would you do in this case? I truly want to know, I have a gut feeling of what to do but also a advice could be well received.
Anyway, that's our story.

One of my friend's husband went to pick up their son from a birthday party at another family's house.
My friend is well off, so they live in a nice neighbourhood in the uk, big houses all around.
The dad opens the door, they introduce themselves. "Hello, I'm Paul." "Hi, I'm Chris."
They make small talk, and at some point the husband asks: "So what do you do for a living?"
Chris: "Oh, I play guitar."
The husband, with a slight smile: "Ah, playing the local town hall and stuff like that?"
Chris: "Wembley."
That's it. Legend.
The best part is imagining the slow realisation afterwards. The husband spent the whole pickup thinking he was politely talking down to a weekend guitarist, and it was Chris Wolstenholme the whole time.

What can I say? 10 albums all the way to Sunburn! Who knows who he has influenced all these years. All I know is. He is a legend to me, whether he knows it or not. To me he is a ROCK GOD! His influence goes from the whole planet and back. I was 6 when I seen that red glitter guitar. Who doesn’t wanna be Matt Bellamy? He’s the definition of being a rock star and BEYOND! Best front man ever!

Should we add an encore? If so, what would be the worst song to start it?

I often come across comparisons to Muse and Biffy Clyro due to their prog adjacent sound. I mean Biffy Clyro is more rooted in post-hardcore and heavy alt rock as Muse are more electronic rock, space rock, glam rock and heavy metal. What do you think??, are they similar?

And what other songs would you add on here?
I made this graph right now just so I could link it on a post asking for sexy rock song recommendations

How many tribute bands are out there. I would love to listen to some old stuff like showbiz or origin of symmetry live and i highly doubt that muse is gonna do a tour singing all and just their first albums. If there are some tribute bands i would like to know them. If possible, it would be better if those bands are from America.
And sorry for the grammar, im not a native speaker.

Still missing ST and WOTP and haven’t obtained the singles I wanted, been digging into other bands recently, especially Dead Poet Society

In the original the chorus guitar is drowned out by the bass and drums too much so I made it louder, also slightly louder in the verse

Do you really think that they will change their setlist for the upcoming European tour? Somehow I feel that they barely listen to their suppoters and that the setlist is going to be the same as in the US tour.

The 2nd picture is the older one
Took me a bit longer than 6 months to update

Instead they have like maybe 3-4 items from their latest albums. Just seems like a horrible strategy.
I could only afford these 3 items when I went to the show back in August. They had awesome tour merch but this is all I could afford at the time.

Q Magazine
November 2000
They're painfully young and painfully thin.
They're into angst, catharsis and destruction.
And if they weren't in a band, they'd be in jail.
Meet Muse - standing up for good old dysfunctional rock'n'roll values. Just don't mention Radiohead.
