Why is my post being deleted? Part II

There was a discrepancy between how rules were being displayed on old vs new Reddit (i.e. they were completely different).

Rule 2 is (and has been):

Due to an influx of spam posts, we have set AutoModerator to automatically remove a post/comment if an account is brand new or has less than 25 karma. There are no exceptions to this rule. We will not approve your post if you do not meet the account age (2 days) or karma (25) thresholds.

Hopefully this is better reflected now and should be visible on new Reddit.

Current students at Noorda

I just got the A to Noorda and it’s one of my top choices! I was just wondering if any current students had any insights on what they like or don’t like about the school and just overall what your experiences have been?

For context, I submitted my secondaries mostly in July. Theres a big blob of schools I have yet to hear any news. But now Im seeing people who submitted in September or October getting IIs. Like I know they looked at my app. Stop leaving me hanging. Either give me an II or reject me. Like please I can take it I just think waiting is so gross

I received a call from ICOM asking for more information from me, want to check what does the phone call really mean? Anything positive to be happy about or is it even a real call? Colleges normally call folks like this?

ACOM vs PCOM vs OCOM vs DUQ-NCOM??

• Upvotes

I am fortunate and grateful to receive A’s from all four of these schools, but I am now tasked with deciding. For reference I am a PA native and want to go into OB/GYN. Any advice?

I also have an interview lined up at NYITCOM in Long Island and I am wondering if I should cancel. I have cancelled interviews at multiple other schools because I would choose one of my A’s over those schools.

PCOM interview

Hello guys!

I am fortunate enough to receive an II from Pcom Philly! I was wondering what the interview vibe is? if it is blind or open book? Also, I was wondering what types of questions they ask. Thanks in advance!

ACOM Interview Questions??

I got my first II to ACOM. I’m really nervous about interviewing and want to know a lot about the interview. What’s the temperature of the interview? What specific questions do they ask (other than ‘why medicine?’)? I feel like I’m a nervous wreck about it already and I’m not good at hiding that. Any input would be great!

Got into a well established DO but I hate the area

• Upvotes

I’ve applied MD/DO- 5 IIs > 1A, all others TBD. Only one is an MD. 2MD Rs, 2 MD pre interview waitlists.

I got into one DO that is one of the “top five.” The problem is, I went there in person for the first time and I absolutely hate the location. It is extremely rural and I honestly think I’d be depressed and isolated there much more than what I realized when applying. I also have little interest in rural medicine and see myself living small town/suburban/city as an attending. I know that it’s early in the cycle still, but I’m really concerned that this might be my only A. Out of the DOs I’ve interviewed at, it is the most established and I feel like I’d be a fool choose other options based on prestige, but I’m really concerned about living there for two difficult years of my life. The deposit for this school is coming up in December so I need to make up my mind before then because I’m poor. Any advice for this situation?

Michigan med schools question

Do you guys think that MSUCOM is ranked higher than their MD school and higher than CMU? Websites seem to say that its not but those are years old and AI says MSUCOM matches into more surgical specialties. Im curious what u guys think.

Am I crazy for choosing Burrell-FL over RVU Montana?

Burrell is about 15 min drive from home, where I get to stay with parents and close to friends and other support system. Especially that Burrell and RVUMCOM has pretty similar tuition...

Canadian Pharmacist with a 2.97 GPA — Realistic Shot at DO Schools with a 510 MCAT?

Hey everyone!

I’m a 27-year-old Canadian citizen and currently a licensed pharmacist in Ontario. I’m looking to pursue medicine in the US, preferably through the DO route, and wanted some honest feedback on my chances.
My background:
Completed a 4-year Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree at the University of Sunderland in the UK.
WES-evaluated undergraduate GPA: 2.97
Graduate GPA: 3.00
Currently working full-time as a licensed pharmacist in Canada.
Strong clinical background in pharmacology, therapeutics, physiology, and patient care.
Planning to take the MCAT in February/March 2027, aiming for 510+.
I understand my GPA is my biggest weakness, especially because it’s below the 3.0 cutoff at some schools. However, I’m hoping my professional background, clinical experience, and potentially strong MCAT score can help compensate for it.
I’m particularly interested in Rocky Vista University (RVU), but I’m open to other DO schools that accept Canadian applicants.
My questions:
Assuming I score 510+ on the MCAT, would I have a realistic chance of getting accepted into a US DO program with my GPA?
Would being a licensed pharmacist with several years of clinical experience meaningfully strengthen my application?
Are there any DO schools known to be more holistic in their admissions process, particularly for applicants with lower GPAs?

Thanks!

MSUCOM Waitlist

Everyday is anxiety for me right now. 503 MCAT 3.79 GPA 3.9 cGPA. ~ 550+ clinical hours. In state- went to undergrad at MSU with 2 LOR from DO’s who teach at the medical school and a strong mission fit. Interview invite on 9-18 and waitlist offer 10/15. I heard MSUCOM has a 70-75% -ish acceptance rate post interview and I’m hoping the early interview is a good sign they like me enough to take me off the waitlist come spring. It’s been radio silence from other DO programs. Any advice on dealing with the anxiety/ stories of success?

Just submitted case study, when and how to update schools?

I just submitted a first authored case study to a tier Q1 journal and expect it to be accepted. So far, I have been waitlisted at KCU, have an interview at my state MD program next week, have had crickets from everyone else (8 or so programs), and one pre secondary rejection from Baptist (weird).

What are everyone’s thoughts on how and when to update? Should I wait until it’s accepted (could be a month or more) or send a copy of the manuscript now?

My goal would be the Md program in state (didn’t think I would get the ii, let alone an early one) and KCU is my second choice (no other school would be near it preference wise).

PCOM VS. PCOM GA?

Hey guys! I was fortunate enough to receive an early acceptance to PCOM Georgia, and I was really excited about it. However, I’ve been hearing a lot of negative things about the Georgia campus, especially in comparison to the Philadelphia campus. For example, people around me have said that "when people talk about how good PCOM is, they’re usually referring to the Philadelphia campus, not Georgia."

As a Georgia resident, I only applied to PCOM Georgia, and I’ve been pretty committed to attending. However, after hearing these opinions, I’m starting to have second thoughts.

I’m trying to make an informed decision, especially since applying to the Philadelphia campus would mean spending extra money (and i'm a little late in the cycle), and I’d really appreciate hearing some honest opinions from current students and alumni of both locations. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I was recently accepted to both VCOM Auburn and NSU KPCOM. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two and was wondering if anyone had useful information or could share their personal experience with either school.
