[Xbox Series X] Should I buy middle earth ?

So I have been trying to find games on sale or bundles so I can get them and play them long term on my Xbox and 100 percent them
So while I was looking I found tomb raider ( survivor triology ) for in my currency equal to 5 dollars which is pretty good
And I have more 5 to spend and I found middle earth bundle
It contains :
1- middle earth : shadow of Mordor ( GOTY) edition
2- middle earth : shadow of war ( definitive edition )

Basically the whole thing
But I am actually curios should I try it or not
I have absolutely no idea about the game , what is the story , but from minimal search or I just wrote its name on YouTube and I found the ratings videos and it says that the game is a masterpiece or a great game atleast
But I don’t know
I played rdr2 ,a plague tale sequel , re series , ( basically I love and play story games )
But I am just conflicted about the game play / graphics
Do you recommend it ?
Thanks for reading

[PS5] SIB Blood of the dawnwalker or Wolverine

I'm torn between getting Blood of the dawnwalker and wolverine. I love witcher 3 so the idea of a witcher like game with for honor combat and a vampire system intrigues me. However I am a comic nerd and have to get my hands on all comic media plus wolverine is one of my favorite marvel characters of all time. I know I'm going to get both eventually but the idea is I get one now and wait on a sale.

Update Thank you guys I decided to go with dawnwalker

[PS5] Help me find this game

I want a game that is immersive and cosy like KCD2, Alan wake 2, RDR2 and Witcher 3 etc where I can roam around in a rainy day and go inside a cosy cabin while I hear the wind blowing outside. Something super atmospheric. Ideally something that has combat / stakes and is a good single player experience. I’ve got ps5 pro and switch 2.

Appreciate Alan wake 2 isn’t considered cosy but I find the environments so cosy especially bright falls at night when it’s spitting with rain

[PC] Borderlands 4 or Cyberpunk DLC.

• Upvotes

I bought cyberpunk back when it came out, and haven't played much since. I know the game has been massively improved and only heard good things about the DLC. I'm willing to give it another shot. Borderlands 4 I've also heard its gotten better over time and its on sale for just about the same price.

Cyberpunk seems like a fun open world game where I can lose myself in the story but Borderlands seems like silly fun to where I can watch a show or movie while playing with friends or solo.

[PS5] What Final Fantasy game should I play first?

Hi all!

I’m looking for some good (non-spoiler) feedback on what Final Fantasy game would be good for me, as I am endlessly indecisive.

I’ve played and loved FFXIV, which pretty much my only experience with the series. I also played 7 Remake, liked it, but bounced off Rebirth pretty hard (so many systems and tutorials and Chadley yapping).

I like pretty much all types of combat, so that is not a deal breaker for me. What I’m really looking for is a great story - ideally with some mysterious aspects (think Mass Effect 1 with the reapers or Horizon Zero Dawn with the Faro plague). I’d like for the main cast to be not too childish and caricature-ish, as sometimes tends to happen in JRPG’s. Also ideally the setting would be intriguing and enjoyable to explore and discover. I’m also not a stickler about graphics.

Hope that helps narrow it down a bit. Looking forward to reading your responses :)

[PS4] Amnesia Collection Sale

Hey everyone,

All of the amnesia games are on sale this month and i'm thinking about picking them up. I could get all of them for a little over $20 USD. I've been on a horror kick lately and i remember when the first one came out but never played any of them. I love scary and tense games like Outlast or ones that have deep space horror kind of like Dead Space and Alien Isolation. Are these up my alley?

[PC] PS5 or Xbox Series X for GTAVI

• Upvotes

Hey there,
I need to buy a current gen console for GTAVI after about a decade of gaming exclusively on PC. I'm torn on whether that should be a PS5 or Series X.

I have the most history with Xbox, having a substantial Xbox 360 library both physically and digitally, as well as a preference for the ergonomics of their controller, as well as exclusive features like play anywhere (particularly tempting given my gaming pc).

On the other hand, PS5 seems like the console with the most longevity and support, and has a deeper well of exclusives that I havent already played on PC - and the "plays best on PS5" marketing does get to me.

The PS5 is also about $100 cheaper than the Xbox, but cost isnt a major factor. I would get a PS5 Pro for the best experience if it was available, but they have been sold out in Australia for months and it seems unlikely to be available before the game is released.

What would you do in my situation? Any recommendations for someone who would prefer they released it on PC day one? And why don't they do console bundles anymore, used to be you got some games when you bought a console?

cheers

[Xbox Series X] Dying light 2

It’s £11.99 on Xbox rn. Lots of people say that dying light 1 is better but I’m looking for good gameplay and not too scary. For some reason dying light 1’s setting petrifies me. Dying light 2’s parkour and combat seems to be generally liked by most people.

Does the gameplay loop get boring?
Is the story so bad that it ruins the game?

My other option is cyberpunk 2077 which is 14.99 on Xbox rn. Is the story and gameplay engaging?

Help me decide what to buy: Hellraiser: Revival or Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy?

Hi huys

I'm ready to buy a new game but I'm completely torn between Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I know they are totally different genres, but I'm interested in both.

Hellraiser is $39.99 and Resonance is $59.99 (though I know it's on Game Pass, but I might just buy it flat out).

Before I drop the cash, I wanted to get your honest opinions:

• Which game gives you better value for your money in terms of length and replayability?

• Is Hellraiser's horror actually good, or does it just rely on jump scares and gore?

• Is Resonance worth the full $60 price tag if I loved the main Plague Tale games, or should I wait for a sale?

Which one would you recommend buying right now? Thanks for the help

[PC] Confused about what to buy

Dying Light vs. Tomb Raider vs. Rise of the Tomb Raider

( Sale is LIVE)

The timer is ticking down, the discount tags are glowing green, and my shopping cart is giving me a full-blown existential crisis. I have narrowed my options down to three distinct titles—Dying Light, Tomb Raider (2013), and Rise of the Tomb Raider—and I am utterly paralyzed. Every time I convince myself to hit "Purchase," another voice in my head tears the logic apart.

On one hand, Dying Light offers unmatched parkour mechanics, visceral first-person melee combat, and the sheer terror of hearing a Volatile scream behind you the second the sun sets. Running across rooftops across Harran sounds thrilling, but do I really want an open-world grind right now? What if I crave tight narrative pacing instead?

That pulls me toward Tomb Raider. The 2013 reboot is legendary for its cinematic survival drama, brutal set pieces, and Lara Croft’s gripping origin story. Yet immediately, Rise of the Tomb Raider enters the ring, bragging about vastly superior stealth, expansive Siberian environments, and deeper challenge tombs that fix every single flaw of its predecessor. If I pick Rise, am I doing myself a disservice by skipping 2013? But if I buy 2013, will I regret not experiencing the richer mechanics and graphical polish of the sequel?

Or... should I just close the client and buy nothing? Maybe I should pick up an entirely different indie gem, or finally tackle the unplayed games gathering dust in my existing library.

I clearly cannot trust my own judgment anymore. Random strangers of the internet, settle this for me: parkour terror, gritty survival origin, snowy tomb raiding, or should I walk away entirely?

Used AI for framing

[PS5] Deciding between these three

Hi everyone. I'm planning to get either one of the following games:

- ACE Combat 8

- The Blood of Dawnwalker

- Control Resonant

I have never played an AC game before. Though, I find it really interesting. Is it more like a flight simulator kind of game? If so, it might be up my alley. As for The Blood of Dawnwalker, with the latest patch out now, how are things with it? Did they add enemy variety? Control Resonant is shaping up to be one of 2026 best games to! Big fan of Remedy! Currently playing through Alan Wake II and loving it! What is everyone's thoughts on these games? 🙂

Should I buy death stranding

Helloooo, this is probably a silly question, but currently death stranding directors cut is like $9 AUD from $95 AUD which is ridiculously cheap. I’m just not sure if it’s a game I’ll enjoy or not. I’ve not played a kojima game before but have heard rlly great things about them, especially death stranding. I think I’m slightly put off by the “walking simulator” comments lol.
I rlly enjoy games with good stories and atmosphere and at least a little bit of action to keep things a bit tense (sh2r is like the best game I’ve ever played, have loved heaps of the resident evil games, Zelda twilight princess, e.t.c)
Big fan of games that have some puzzles in them as well.
I guess I’m wondering if it’s actually worth the $9 for death stranding, again, I know it’s super cheap but is it worth the download and all that.
Any advice on this would be super appreciated!!

[PS5] Very tempted to buy Starfield’s Premium Edition but..

I’m unsure $41.99 is too steep for the lack of content or quality. I love Bethesda open world games and things alike. I received all Steam achievements for NV and have countless hours in FO4. Especially in its base building.

For those who played the premium edition, is it worth it at that price? Has character creation and the skill tree been reworked or expanded for overall QoL?

I’m mainly looking for a new open world fix with guns and snappy gameplay to keep me busy before GTA VI.

[Switch] Tomodachi Life or Rhythm Heaven Groove

I just beat Persona 5 recently after months of playing and 100 hours of playtime. Looking for something light and fun to play in the lead up to the Ocarina of Time Remake in a couple weeks. I missed out on the Tomodachi Life are Rhythm Heaven Groove craze earlier this year and am thinking if now is the right time to get them but can't decide on which one to get

Love Dead Space & TLOU gameplay loops, hate pure stealth. What should my next horror game be?

I’m looking to buy a new horror game during the current sale and could use some advice on which direction to go.

For context, my absolute favorite games are Dead Space and The Last of Us. I constantly find myself going back to them because I love their specific gameplay loop—meaty, aggressive combat mixed with resource management and an intriguing, high-stakes story, also really nice to look at graphics wise.

I want to try something fresh, but my biggest issue with a lot of modern horror games is that they rely too much on sneaking around, hiding in lockers, or having no way to fight back. And with little to no change in gameplay. Also, if I shoot a monster some limbs better be falling off or some papers flying from a desk if I shoot a shotgun nearby. I find pure stealth horror incredibly boring and tedious; I want an actual combat loop where I can defend myself.

Here are the sale options I'm looking at right now:

• Alan Wake 2 ($17.99) — Currently leaning heavily toward this. I hear the story is incredible and the gameplay leans more survival-horror. If I love it, I'll grab the first one before the sale ends.

• Alan Wake Remastered ($4.49)

• Silent Hill 2 Remake ($31.99)

• Silver Pines ($24.99)

• Silent Hill: Townfall ($49.99)

If all of these fail the vibe check, I'm probably just going to pivot genres entirely and pick up the Cuphead bundle here soon. What do you guys think?

Looking for unique indie/horror/psychedelic games

I love games with unique and "dirty" artstyles. With dirty I mean having certain uncanniness to them and having this kind of disturbing atmosphere even if its not explicitly a horror game. I also find the "PS1 graphics" really attractive. Some games I love are Fear and Hunger, Lucid Blocks, Cruelty Squad, Dusk... I've been looking for this kind of games(I know the description is rather generic, but any game genre could scratch the itch) and have found some mainstream games that fit the vibe really interesting, like Mouthwashing and No I'm Not A Human. I was wondering if any of you distinguished conossieurs could guide me into some recommendations. If its of any help, here's my wishlist/owned games so that u get the idea of what I'm into.
Also take in account this is my first time posting something like this on reddit and I may not have been precise enough, thanks in advance!

Resident evil Requiem or dragon's dogma 2 w/ dlc?

I am currently playing aion 2. But I realize I am not in my 20s anymore. I am 41 with a family. I just can't grind and put the hours into keep up like I used to.

So I am thinking of switching gears to something single player. My considerations are resident evil Requiem or dragon's dogma 2.

I know both are wildly different genre....

Just seeing if anyone have played both of them before and which one you recommend getting over the other?

Thanks!

[PS5] SIB: Triangle Strategy, FF Tactics, Octopath 1+2

TLDR: Better music, combat, art, and story.

Hey everyone, I'm currently trying to decide between these three. I'm currently feeling something with a tactical feel, that has gorgeous pixel art and good music. I'd prefer something with a more serious story, but if none of these have that it's alright.

Lately I've been finding myself getting impatient and frustrated with long winded dialog and slower starts with getting things rolling. Which is silly because this genre is know for having tons of exposition. I'm not annoyed by it when it's good and juicy writing, but if it's essentially small talk I get bored.

A lot of the stuff I enjoy is kinda unrelated, but not fully. Some of my favorites are CrossCode, Jak and Daxter, TW3, Stalker 2, and the Resident Evil series. I also really enjoyed Sea of Stars, Chained Echoes, Stardew, BG3, and FE Sacred Stones.

There's sales on TS, FFT, and Octopath 2, but if I scoop O2 I might as well get the bundle.

I played FFT a bit when I was a kid, but I was too young and dumb to appreciate FF as a series. But I've heard it's one of the better ones. FF usually seems to have great characters and good stories that touch on some brooding topics sometimes. How is the job system? I'm not looking for anything that is super complex, but just complex enough if I want to min max.

Triangle Strategy looks like it's got beautiful art, and from my understanding requires multiple playthroughs to get the full story, which I'm not opposed to if it's worth it.

Octopath I've heard mixed things about, but the pixel art looks really good. And I can potentially get multiple games, which would be cool and push me more towards it.

I didn't like Unicorn Overlord, and I'm not really into RTS style games. I'm also leaning towards something with a battle grid style similar to the Fire Emblem series. Mainly because I plan to eventually get FF Resonance and I don't want to burn myself out with a traditional turn based combat system. I also dislike Dragon Quest. Finally, preferably no random encounters if possible but if these have it that's chill.

I'm also open to suggestions, especially if you've got a turn based game with mechs. I really dig mecs and just wish I could play Into the Breach on my ps5.

[PC] WSIP: Where Winds Meet, Once Human or Aion 2, another MMO? - Which deserves my time?

Hello everyone, I'm interested in playing an mmo on and off between my story games on the side. I have played many in my time including FF14, GW2, Warframe and Soulframe to name a few. I have played a couple of hours of Aion 2 and about an hour of WWM so I do have minimal experience with both.

In short, I love a good mmo that doesn't force me to play with others, but it's also important to me that it draws me in. I'm not against paying for things, but I kind of want to know what the general consensus is around these 3 specifically but I am open to other suggestions. Especially if they offer a F2P model.

I've always in my head seen MMOs as games where if I put enough time in, then I can justify paying for stuff in them, which is important to consider.

Cheers all!

[Xbox Series X] SIB Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria?

Hey folks! I've been on a bit of a Lord of the Rings kick lately, and as part of that I'm looking into getting the survival game that I listed in the title of this post. I'm not sure if I'd be able to get any friends of mine to play it with me, due to it not being on Xbox Game Pass, but if the game is A) fun enough on it's own and B) has an active community that's welcoming for beginners, I may be willing to get it.

I like the concept of playing a survival game where my character has a role in a larger group, such as being the main blacksmith or regularly providing some other resource. I had hoped I'd get that feeling in a Vintage Story multiplayer server, but with most of its servers being modded to heck and back I didn't feel like I was playing the same game anymore.

So yeah, if Return to Moria is worth the price and has an active community, let me know! If it doesn't, let me know as well!

[PC] SIB Mass effect Andromeda?

After hearing what happened to Bioware, I'm tempted to close the knot on the games I played by it. I didn't like playing Kotor, Baldurs Gate or Jade Empire but Mass effect had a special place for me. I asked about playing it on the r/mass effect sub reddit but it occurred to me it might be a bit biased at the moment due to the collective moment of sadness so I shall ask here instead.
