Sonic: "Well if it isn't saucy Sage, just a little too late as usual"

Sage: "Hedgehog?! Impressive speed powers you've got there but your plan ends here"

Sonic: "Hahaha Idiot, you're not ending our plan, you're expanding it, checked the internet lately"

Sage: "Pfft the story leaked early...? Then Sonic's plan is ruined. But the King was saved...?"

Sonic: "And yet Mobian blood was spilled"

Sage: "By Mobians! Besides, a few dozen royal guards is tragic, but nothing to start a major war over."

Sonic: "That's just the spark, kid, the excuse we've been waiting for, Mobius' wanted this war for years. The Black Arms they knew destroying Earth was good for the economy. Years later their legacy lingers on..."

Sage: "The memes..."

Sonic: "They left us their great ideas! Conquest! Mass murder! Vore! Welcome maxims for those with no faith without guiding principles of their own, give yourself up to the whole, no need to better yourself, you're Mobian! You're number one! Then the only value left is the golden ring value, the economy, so we'll do whatever it takes to keep it humming along. Even war. Especially war"

Sage: "Bullshit"

Sonic: "The Black Arms planted the seed we don't need them around to filter and foster their Conquests any longer; we're spreading them just fine ourselves, every Mobian Man, Women, and Child... We're all sons of the Black Arms now! We just need something to jump start the economy out of this funk. This recession it's been stuck in since the death of Black Doom."

Sage: "And the military costs? Wasting billions is going to help the economy?"

Sonic: "Serial killers, Vore artists... Job creators, Sage! All those workers spending money, paying taxes... Trust me, a little war can work wonders"

Sage: "So grease the gears with some innocent blood, is that it?"

Sonic: "Relax, Sage. It's a "war on technology." We're not out to kill civilians. Robots! Traitors! Eggman! Of course that would have to include you; Wouldn't want any eyewitness reports complicating the message"

Sonic: "Slippery little Bastard; I don't have time for this"

Sage: "Oh you've gotta be kidding me!"

Sonic: "Let's go!"

Sage: "The hell are you thinking..."

Sonic punches sage knocking her back he then grabs hold of her head

Sonic: "raced back in the day, ya know"

Sage: "In some cushy ivy league Grand Prix"

Sonic grabs Sage by the throat

Sonic: "Try the local Mobotropolis race track. Coulda gone pro if i hadn't joined the resistance. I'm not one of those Station Square pansies. I could break the King in two with my bare hands"

Sonic then throws sage in the air and kicks her

Sonic: "Don't fuck with this Hedgehog!"

Sage: "What the hell are you...?"

Sonic: "Why don't you stick around and find out?"

Another battle later

Sage: "What?"

Sonic: "Nice computer powers..."

Sonic punches Sage, throwing her several feet back

Sage: "Typical Hedgehog super speed, but all talk"

Sonic: "What?"

Sage: "Jump-start the economy"? "What a load of bullshit! All you care about is stuffing your stomach full with fast food! That, and gulping down sugary drinks! You've got no principles, just like all the rest! If Mobius's gone to shit you're just another maggot crawling in the pile!"

Sonic: "All right, the truth then, You're right about one thing... I do need fast food and sugary drinks, Wanna know why? "I have a dream"

Sage: "What...?"

Sonic: "That one day every Mobian on this planet will control their OWN destiny; a land of the TRULY free, Dammit! A nation of action, not words; ruled by STRENGTH, Not Crown! Where the law changes to suit the individual, not the other way around! Where power and justice are back where they belong: in the hands of the people! Where every man is free to think to act for himself! Fuck all these limp-Dick lawyers and Chicken Shit bureaucrats! Fuck this 24/7 internet spew of trivia and celebrity bullshit! Fuck "Mobian pride" Fuck the media! Fuck all of it! Mobius is diseased, rotten to the core; there's no saving it, we need to pull it out by the roots, Wipe the slate clean, BURN IT DOWN! And from the ashes a new Mobius will be born, Evolved, but untamed! The Robots will be purged, and the Mobians will thrive free to live as they see fit, they'll make Mobius great again!"

Sage: "What the hell are you talking about..."

Sonic: "You still don't get it. I'm using vore as a business to get crowned so I can end vore as a business! In my new Mobius Mobians will die and kill for what they BELIEVE! Not for money! Not for oil! Not for what they're told is right, every Mobian will be free to fight his own wars! So what do you think?"

Sage: "How the hell did you get put in charge of the resistance..."

Sonic: "Well I don't write my own speeches, you should try fighting for what you believe in sometime, Sage; not for a company, or a nation, or for anyone else"

Sage: "Maybe I was wrong about you..."

Sonic: "Am I finally getting through? I'll rid this world of pointless wars, Sage"

Sage: "I was wrong; you're not greedy, you're bat-shit insane!"

Sonic: "Making the mother of all Chili Dogs here, Sage; can't fret over every shred of cheese"

Sage: "Not when you're "purging the Robots," right? What do you know about "the Robots"? You weren't born poor, you've never been hungry, you don't know what it's like to fight and steal and kill just to survive..."

Sonic: "But you did survive! Through sheer force of will, following your own set of rules; with your own two hands you took back your life!'

Sage: "And now I'll take yours"

Sage: "Why won't you die?!"

Sonic: "Chaos Emeralds, kid; they power up in response to attacks from an outside force. You can't hurt me, Sage"

Sage punches Sonic in the face and Sonic doesn't budge

Sonic: "What did I just say?"

Sonic knocks Sage to the ground

Sonic: "Time to end this"

Sonic begins to beat Sage into the ground eventually causing a huge explosion

Sonic: "Die! Die! Die, you piece of shit!"

Sonic "All right, I think we're about done here..."

Sonic: “Well done, Sage…”

Sage: “ Your dream dies with you”

Sonic: “ Maybe not… You’ve guaranteed that the status quo will go on, for a while longer at least… War… will continue as an institution. As an industry. Men will fight for reasons they don’t understand, causes they don’t believe in… But at least I’ll leave a worthy successor… You, Sage. You carve your own path, use whatever methods you see fit… You don’t let legal bullshit get in the way. And if it costs a few lives? So be it…”

Over the 35 years of sonic the hedgehog we have been introduced to many beautiful female sonic characters with amazing designs and amazing stories today I am on a mission to find out who’s the most beautiful or who’s the best and who would make as an amazing partner so tell me in the comments who’s the best of the best

So, with this recent PS5 jailbreak stuff, I’ve been able to play Sonic Unleashed natively on a console for the first time since I was a kid, and it’s almost gotten me emotional over the last couple of days. This was the game that won me over for the series and Sonic as a character, back when I was a wee little guy, and man I just have so many thoughts that I wanna share here. I’ll do my best not to repeat what I’ve already heard a lot of.

Firstly, wow it’s literally unbelievable that this game came out almost 20 years ago. I don’t know if any other Sonic game tops SU’s visuals to me. I know Adabat is pointed at a lot, and I absolutely know why, though EVERY location in this game looks stellar in its own right. The only exception I could point to is Empire City, but even then it doesn’t look bad. Regardless, the art direction brings so much cohesion to every part of the world, Sonic included.

Secondly, I love the day and night stages equally. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I like the length and style of the werehog levels! The combat can get repetitive, though I find that leaning into the combo system and memorizing different skills brings intention that makes the hack-n-slash more engaging. I also am playing recompiled which lets you turn off the battle music which I am SUCH a fan of. I cannot defend the og on that front.
It’s going to be hard to explain why I enjoy how long the stages are. Sonic Unleashed feels so cinematic and grand to me. Like, we’re flying across the planet, exploring these huge real-world locations for massive gaia temples, and I think the scale of the levels matters a lot in making you feel that. The daytime stages can do this pretty quickly because of how fast Sonic is; there’s just so much ground to cover and you see a lot in that time. But the Werehog stages don’t have that luxury, so I think that’s where the long level design comes from. I also think the different lengths/gameplay work together to give some contrast. It makes the daytime stages feel faster and the nighttime stages feel like a break from the intensive pace. I usually spend 15-30 minutes on the werehog stages, mainly because I like to hunt for all the collectables. It’s because of this playstyle that I haven’t ever been walled off by medal requirements, which I know is a big gripe that others have with this game, which is fair. I wish they acted as more of an “extra” collectible for completionists.
I don’t know what to say about Sonic’s daytime stages other than they all look and feel amazing. I have no gripes! I feel like Sonic has so much weight and momentum in this game. He is so fun to control.

I also just love Sonic’s personality in this game. He’s still a snarky hero but not overly sarcastic like how Sonic Colors felt. The cast is small too, which is one of my favorite things about this game. I also like that Sonic is set in a human world, aand how they stylized the people. He didn’t feel out of place anywhere.

I touched on this above, but the story of this game truly is a cinematic experience. You’re literally putting the planet back together, and I feel like the weight of that isn’t ever lost. Every other person you meet has something to say about the events unfolding, and the final boss fight is just so awesome. And man, THE CUTSCENES. They’re animated so well and just look so fucking amazing. More than we could expect from any sonic movie, though that would be my dream.
And the music. The music is just phenomenal.

All of this to say, I don’t feel like any Sonic game afterwards hit all of the same marks, or even functionally equivalent ones. Maybe Generations comes close?Though the focus of this post isn’t to make a comparison, just appreciation! It could very well be my nostalgic love for Sonic Unleashed, but this game feels like the best game Sonic’s ever gotten.
