Marathon season's in full swing, the days are getting shorter, and someone in your feed did something worth celebrating this month, maybe it was you. A fall race PR, a comeback after time off, a costume 5K you actually trained for, a friend who finally hit their goal. Post it here (activity must be public). Some of these end up on Strava's Stories and socials.
Link the public activity or describe it, add a line on why it matters, and tag the athlete if it's not you (only if they'd be into it).
Own effort or someone else's, both count. Whatever you're chasing next, there'll be a place for it here.
The name of ‘Hellevoetsluis’ has been changed to ‘Kazashtan’ for almost two months now. Is it better to ask Strava to change it back or start a petition to change the name of Hellevoetsluis?
hi! i've been running on a lifefitness treadmill that has an apple watch integration. i noticed that the pace average shown on my strava doesnt match the data on the treadmill and apple watch fitness app.
for today's run, i was running between 11-12kph on the treadmill today, of which should average to between a 5:00-5:27 pace so the 5:19 pace looks about right. the apple fitness app also shows similar statistics. but the "splits" section on the strava app shows something slower, and even cuts short my distance ran.
Hi. I am using a Sony Xperia 5 II (Android 12). Recently, after update, strava login always shows server error while trying to login using email. For a cross check, in my Iphone 12 mini (IOS 26), Its working just fine.
So, according to strava, i tried the following troubleshooting and fixes:
Clearing Data and Cache, restarting the phone
Clearing data and cache, switching to mobile data from wifi
reinstalling multiple times
tried the interval mechanism like after 1 hour, agter 24 hrs, even after 48hrs
None of these worked. Please help me by mentioning the issue and how it can be fixed. Thank you in advance
Why all of a sudden is it showing Google Health as my device instead of Google pixel watch 2 when it's still connected, (it's always said pixel watch 2) and I'm recording the run on my watch. It's not a like a huge deal but I kind of like it better when it says pw2
For a while I had been having trouble with Strava syncing my rides with Apple Health and Fitness after getting a new phone and a new watch. I tried all kinds of fixes and workarounds, nothing seemed to fix the issue. The ride would not sync to Apple. Strava knew about it, but Health and Fitness didn't get it. I finally tried the following and now Strava updates almost instantaneously to Health and Fitness.
Make sure all your rides are showing in Strava on the web.
Logout of Strava on the web.
Uninstall the app from your Apple Watch.
Logout and Uninstall the app from your iPhone.
Delete any Data that Health and Fitness has from Strava. Don't worry Strava on the web has it backed up.
Restart Watch and iPhone.
Reinstall Sträva on your iPhone. Don't worry about the watch right now.
Follow the setup process to logon to Strava and setup the connect to Health and Fitness. Your data will re-sync to health and fitness once Strava has the information from Strava on the web.
When asked, sync all data.
Add your Watch in Strava, this will install it on your watch.
Once done, restart both devices.
This seemed to have worked for me. My rides sync almost instantaneously, to Health and Fitness, once I save it in Strava. I'm thinking there might have been corrupt data or something between the Health and Fitness apps and Strava. By deleting all the data, reinstalling, and reconnecting Strava corrected the issue.
Might try just logging out of Strava, disconnecting it from Health and Fitness and deleting the data. Then reconnecting Strava to Health and fitness and see if that corrects the issue.
I recently replaced my Forerunner 245 with a new Forerunner 70..I really like the new watch.
But, I have an issue with the elevation gain on my runs now on Strava that I didn't have with the 245.
When I complete my runs, I see some wildly wrong elevation gains, like well over a 1,000 feet when it should be under 100 feet, for example.
I know that there is a feature to adjust the elevation after the run. But, it's annoying to this after every run. Does anyone know of a fix for this, please?
Seems silly? A lot of times in a kudos frenzy I’ll kudos an activity that doesn’t deserve kudos. For example “ 80m walk to the takeaway shop”. Let us have the option to remove it. Thanks
Strava's weather on an activity gives you the wind speed and direction at one moment. It doesn't tell you what that wind did to the ride. A 12 mph wind is a disaster on an out-and-back into it and almost nothing on a loop.
So my rides now get a short note appended to the Strava description (below anything I write myself):
On Strava it gets cut off after four lines; the whole note is:
🌬️ Wind: 8 mph from the NNE
⏱️ Wind cost you about 5 min (3% slower)
🌡️ 59–67°F · ☀️ Clear
🧭 Headwind 23% · Tailwind 27% · Crosswind 50%
💨 Toughest headwind: mi 30–33, 9 mph in your face
⛰️ Terrain: Hilly · 53 ft/mi
On this ride half of it was crosswind, which most wind tools ignore. It still cost me about 5 minutes.
What it works out, point by point along the GPS track:
how much of the ride was headwind / tailwind / crosswind
the toughest headwind stretch (where, how long)
roughly how many minutes the wind cost (or gave) you overall
a one-line terrain summary (how hilly the ride was)
One thing people will notice: the wind speed is often higher than Strava's weather panel. Strava shows a ground-level reading; this uses the weather model's 10 m wind, which is the standard forecast height. Same direction, bigger number. The time estimate is what matters, and that comes from a physics model, not the raw speed.
Questions for this sub:
Do you adjust for wind when you look at segment times or PRs, or just accept it as noise?
Would you want this in your description, or does it clutter the feed? (It goes below your own text and never replaces it.)
Disclosure: I built this. It's called CycleLytic Wind & Weather, a web app you connect with Strava's official sign-in. It only adds the wind note to new rides; it doesn't change anything else on your activities. First 10 rides are free, then it's $9.99/yr (it asks for a card up front). Link in the comments if anyone wants to try it. Mostly I'm curious how others here think about wind.
Tried a pr on 5k and managed to run 5.13k in 24:50 min, however my strava said my new pr was 5k in 25:50 mins, i didn't even run for that long? Happened again today with my 10k.
Why does this happen?
Edit:
My earbuds flipped out so i paused my watch, the pr on strava measures elapsed time, not moving time
Hello, I do a lot of alpine skiing and am looking for a watch that can track my skiing speed and total downhill distance, excluding the distance covered while riding chairlifts or other uphill lifts. Which watch would you recommend for this purpose? Thank you for your advice!
I recently updated from an iPhone 12 on iOS 18.7.8 to an iPhone 18 Pro on iOS 27.0.1, and now when I "Analyze Effort" on a segment, and drag my finger to the right to move the vertical selection bar through the data, the screen keeps thinking I'm trying to swipe the whole screen to the right, instead of just moving the vertical selection bar through the graphs. So I repeatedly have to lift my finger to stop the screen from swiping right. It's only a problem when I drag right; dragging left works smoothly, the way it does in both directions on my old iPhone. The Strava app version is 479.00 (r54814) on both the old and new phones, so it seems like it might be an Apple problem, but I haven't spotted any similar problems in other apps. Anyone else notice this behavior?
I am in the best shape of my life (several months of PRs) and have some of the worst fitness score on Strava. I learnt to ignore it - just wondering why Strava only pushes the hard efforts and punishes recovery. Again, I learnt to live without it but am just wondering.
Every Strava story I see looks the same: same orange line, same three stats. So I built Beautiful GPX, a kind of Photoshop for GPX files: a free web tool that turns your Strava activity (or any GPX file) into a fully custom route image.
The video shows the whole flow on one of my trail runs: import from Strava, restyle the route, pick the stats, add a start/finish flag, then export a transparent PNG.
What you can customize:
Route: any color or gradient, thickness, outline, dashed or “gravel” lines
Stats: choose what to show (distance, elevation, time, pace/speed, elevation profile), in miles or km, with or without a background, sized and placed where you want
Markers & labels: start/finish flag, summits, aid stations, towns, ..., with icons and fonts
Background: a map (including poster-style maps), your own photo, or transparent for Instagram stories and video overlays
Multi-day trips: merge several activities into one map
Strava import uses Strava’s official sign-in (OAuth): you log in on strava.com, the tool never sees your password, it only gets read access to your activities, and you can revoke it anytime in your Strava settings. You can also just drop a GPX file.
It’s free, with no account needed, and everything runs in your browser: your tracks never leave your device.
I see quite a few segment leaderboards with sprinting faster than the world record. Now most recently I saw a winner of a segment running 1:33 min/km while the world record being 1:48 min/km.
Wouldn’t it be easy not to accept these results as they are due to GPS glitches or pulse watches recording wrongly?
Has anyone had issues with Strava not working properly on an iPad lately? I can’t make it rotate to landscape, how it used to. This has been happening for about 2 days now. I also for some reason can’t paste ride info onto instagram pics anymore. Is it my iPad?
Hi!! I have questions about runna app. I just finished my first plan - new to running and it was free, now I created new plan and I can only see week one, other weeks are unlocked behund premium :(( so if I buy the premium for one month and my plan lasts for example 3 months, will the weeks lock again when my premium ends? Or how does it work please? And another question - is there any time of the year when you can buy the premium for less? Some discount? (I cant use free 14 days from strava bsc I already used it)
Thank you!

I tried to log in using Google, using an email, it just keeps looping the home screen of the login page and doesn't let me log in into the app, the site works just fine, tried downloading an apk, tried clearing the cache/data, tried downgrading the app, nothing seems to work
Is anyone else on WatchOS 27.2 and the Strava widget is showing as a “—“. This happened on my Ultra2 since updating to 27.2RC. Tried editing to replace and doesn’t seem to fix it.
