With the FIA WEC’s penultimate race meeting of 2026 in Barcelona now completed, there’s plenty to establish about the state of play for new and revised Hypercar efforts for 2027.

The addition of a pair of Heart of Racing-entered Aston Martins for the coming Asian Le Mans Series marks another expansion of the team’s ACO racing programmes after the introduction of the Valkyrie into Hypercar and a doubling up of their commitment to the WEC’s LMGT3 class.

Or maybe it’s just the Peugeot‘s general uncompetitiveness.

Ford Racing driver Frankie Muniz is exploring a potential step up to the Ford Mustang GT3 EVO, confirming that discussions are already underway for a possible move as early as next year.

For its first half-century, Maserati was one of the biggest names in motorsport. The Italian brand has been far less relevant on that stage in the six decades that have followed, but that has begun to change with new lower-level GT racing programs. That said, Maserati still does not race in the global standard GT3 class, does not compete in prototype racing, and has no known plans to race anywhere above the GT2 and GT4 categories.

Out of curiosity, what were people’s thoughts of the paddock and pitlane access in Barcelona (or any of the other races)? Was it any good / worth it? I’m only asking as to whether to do it next year at Silverstone
