General The U of S has the worst toilet paper in the city
This is debatable but not entirely untrue. What are your thoughts?

Hi Saskatoon,
I'm currently an out of province student (Alberta) here and received a city of saskatoon parking ticket. Normally I would just move on and pay the ticket but the ticket has my license plate entered wrong (one digit off) and the province is wrong (listed as SK, but it's an AB plate). From reading this sub it sounds like this ticket is not worth the paper it's printed on? I called into the phone number on the ticket (trying to save the city time) and told a worker the plate number was wrong on the ticket. He informed me that they had taken a picture of my plate. When he went to verify the plate he said he couldn't verify it from the picture and asked for the proper plate number and he could send a dispute to parking services which could be approved or denied. I told him the onus is on them to record the proper plate number, and that if I ever receive anything in the mail I will dispute the ticket at that point. AITAH? Should I have just given him my proper plate number?

Soooo long story short, my car was making a really weird sound when I was driving, started as a thumping in the front driver side wheel. I became concerned of the safety of my car, so I booked an appointment with Canadian tire as they were the ones who put the tires on initially.
After taking my car to there service department, I waited about an hour to be told to come back and pick it up. Upon returning I was handed a 0 dollar bill as they reported nothing wrong with the tire and to just book in a brake and suspension check at a later date. I asked the man who gave me my bill 3 times if the car was safe to drive as I need to take it to Moose Jaw to be swapped out for my parents Escape. He ensured to me that the vehicle was 100% safe to drive.
Well, the problem persisted, didn’t sound like it was getting worse by any means but I took their word and continued to drive for the last few days, avoiding circle as I still had some concern that something was wrong and planned to get it in to a service station in Moose Jaw.
Saturday evening when leaving work, I pulled out of the back alley and my entire tire fell off, 4 lug nuts completely busted and was hanging on by one. Luckily I have CAA and was able to get it towed to a mechanic that evening.
My question here is if Canadian Tire can be held responsible at all for the lack of care in regard to my safety. Had I been on the highway, I likely would’ve lost control of my vehicle and could have been injured. I understand car things are on me as the owner however I feel I was completely misled and disregarded.
If anyone has any info that would be great!
Thanks for your time Stoon.

Edit to add: I KNOW THE WAIT TIMES ARE YEARS. I’m well aware of the state of things in this province. I’m 30 and been in and out of treatment/ hospital for 15 years. Im willing to wait, I’m in this for the long haul. I’m looking for a specific name I can be referred to.
Has anyone had luck with a good psychiatrist in Saskatoon? I’ve had a string of negative experiences with my current. Specifically someone who’s good at managing bipolar 1. I will get a new referral but want a good doctor this time. I know this is a big ask and not too hopeful lol.

So this might be a bit of a long shot but I’m trying to find the owners of a roughly 30 year old roll of film. The back story is that my mom, who is in her late 60s, got some film developed that were shot in the 80s and 90s. She had never got around to it and so it was fun to see some photos from the family that we hadn’t ever seen. Me and my brothers as kids, holidays with the family, that sort of thing.
But there was one roll we didn’t recognize. A bunch of young people (maybe early 20s?) partying on a camping trip, and another group having dinner out somewhere and a few other random shots. My guess on the time of the photos is late 90s. I assumed one of my brothers would recognize the people as friends or acquaintances but neither of them did. So we have about 20 photos of a group of people that no one in my family knows at all. I’m wondering if anyone might recognize someone in one of the photos. I thought if I can get a lead on someone then they might appreciate getting them back and seeing a lost batch of photos from their youth.
We have no idea how my mom might have gotten this roll of film. She has no idea either. She had a large number of unprocessed rolls that she held onto since the 80s and moved several residences so we thought maybe this other roll was found somewhere and put with the others.
In any case, does anyone here recognize any of these people? The only real detail to go on is that there is a banner with the words Saintstock ‘98 in one of the photos and it looks to be a camping/concert type thing but it looks pretty small and googling it brought up nothing.
I know Saskatoon isn’t as small as it used to be but maybe with a little luck someone will be recognized and I’ll have a lead to go on so I can send them their photos!

I was looking at grain to glass out of Winnipeg but it’s $20 shipping under $100. Is there a fb group or someone doing bulk orders? Or somewhere in Saskatoon for beer making supplies?

They already have a ticket but I know my neighbor makes frequent trips to the hospital and she needs the space to get in and out with a wheelchair.
At one point does the city actually tow these vehicles?
EDIT: well the truck is gone now. Not sure if it was towed or they actually moved it but I hope the people downvoting this post never need assistance and are always able bodied.

Hello, I (34F) am looking for someone who has fitness goals in 2027 and would like to buddy up to achieve them. I will be due to give birth in January and would like to stay on top of my workout routine to meet a major target activity that I am signed up to participate in in September 2027. So I’m looking for this buddy from March to September.
I would prefer a female buddy.
I plan to walk 10k steps and attend PF classes three rimes a week. I know my body would be different postpartum and I know we may desire to work out different parts of our bodies at each session, and that’s okay. I’m looking for someone I can buddy up with to do the 10k steps (at our different conveniences, meet up at the gym, do exercises (we can do our own thing) and then repeat.
Any one also looking for a fitness buddy?

I am new to the city and looking to get my winter tires changed but they’re not on rims. I would really appreciate recommendations on a reliable and reasonably priced place. Thanks so much!

Do the Legions in town sell poppy center pins? I'd rather support their poppy campaign and online legion website is a wait.

Has anyone in Saskatoon had Door Dash deliver groceries? I tried to find out who delivers for Superstore but they wouldn't say. If I get them delivered through the Superstore app, I can only tip the driver $15. That's the highest amount allowed. I live in a highrise and need someone with a cart to bring the groceries to my door. So I feel it deserves a higher tip amount. So I guess I'm wondering if door dash delivers and if I can tip the driver or do they have a set amount as well? I tried getting more information on the Door Dash site but didn't have information about tips.
Not sure why Superstore won't let you give a higher tip.

Hi all, I’ve been trying to locate where in the city I could buy these fidget slugs and large pop tubes (you pull them and they make sound). A family member of mine with profound autism adores them. They both used to be sold at Dollarama, but aren’t anymore.
Amazon only sells the small versions, or the regular sized at an absurd price.
Has anyone seen these around?
Thank you

Driving down college today and the Emmanuel and St. Chad building has all of its windows boarded up and what looks to be a visibly and pronounced leaning roof - does anyone know if the university has a plan to save this one as one of the original campus buildings?
Between this, the Stone Barn being in real danger, and the loss of the two Lutheran seminary buildings last year, it seems the University of Saskatchewan has done little planning to protect and preserve its built heritage?
The university hasn’t built any new buildings in years (decades?), and the Sask Poly build that ‘broke ground’ in 2024 has not progressed at all - the plan for that campus has been reduced to one single new building that is much smaller than originally announced. All of this on top of hundreds of layoffs at Sask Polytech and dozens of layoffs at USask (while management salaries continue to shoot up).
What’s going on over there?

I’m booking a wheelchair taxi and trying to make plans - is the Saskatoon Sunday Farmers’ Market by the airport as good as the Saturday one (just as many vendors)? I’m hoping for a bowl of pozole for lunch. Thanks!

Long story short, the ECU from my 90s vehicle needs a couple new capacitors replaced and soldered on the motherboard. I'm not sure who to go to 🫠

My FIL has been in the hospital for a while. It would be nice to give him some grooming comforts.
The SHA made a recommendation but the phone number is disconnected.
Could anyone recommend a service that travels to hospitals for haircuts?
