BOTulism

As many of you are aware, this subreddit has been overrun by bots lately. Moderators have implemented both automated and manual controls. We have also added a report category for AI/bots. If you think that you see a bot, please report it. If the bot is providing misinformation, please correct the misinformation.

Please do NOT call out the response as a bot. For one, it feels very un-excellent to real humans who get called out and that's not how we want to welcome new users. And more importantly, as someone who works extensively with LLMs (ethically, in a closed proprietary system) in my day job, when you call out a bot and explain why you think it's a bot, you are training that bot to better escape detection.

Posts with a certain number of reports will be automatically removed. Human moderators will review the rest. We['re sorry that this is happening. It's a sitewide problem and we're a big subreddit with a lot of text-based information, so bots love it.

Recommendations? Please help me with finding affordable but sturdy bras Spoiler

• Upvotes

All my bras are too big for me even if I do the swoop and scoop, I have one I ordered online I think that one was 38B and it fits me perfectly, however it's not sturdy and the underwire keeps making an attempt on my life.

I'm trying to look at the popular stores or even Amazon but gosh they are all in the 50+ range or they are not in my size. Can anyone suggest some stores for me, preferably in Canada with affordable bras? Thanks!

Thank You! [Thank You] After trial and error, found my fit! Spoiler

Hi all,

I posted on here about a month ago seeking advice in regard to getting a bra that fits. The calculator suggested 34G/H US, you guys suggested some other options, and after testing out some bras, I found that the Elomi Matilda in a 34H was the right fit for me. I have close-set breasts with a lot of upper fullness, so I am very happy with the plunge of it and the stretch lace. The wires are the right width and it has the right projection for my shape.

So, thank you very much. Now to return the ones that don’t fit!

Recommendations? Sports bra with padding for a 32DD/EE Spoiler

Measurements:

32 30.5 29 35.5 38.5 38

I got my size here a few days ago. The calculator says 32DD/EE. I have center fullness, kind of far apart, wide-ish roots.

I'm a mid-distance runner and I'm looking for a high-impact sports bra that's supportive and doesn't hurt my nipples when I run. And I don't mean chaffing, I mean internal ligament pain with every swing. Enough padding to conceal my nipples is a firm requirement, no pun intended, but it seems like the brands most often recommended here tend to have no padding. So I haven't found anything from potential discussions that seem like they'd work for me.

More details:

Before I found my new size, I was running in a 32C Third Love Kinetic bra that sprained my hand the first time I put it on, it was tight. But I liked my 32C1/2 bras from them I was wearing at the time, so I though it was supposed to be that hard to put on. It worked fine until about 8 months ago, when I think my body was changing and I started running more, then I got the same nipple pain I get if I try to run in a medium impact bra. I got a 32C Brooks Dare bra a few months ago and was instantly disappointed.

After I got my measurements, I went to a local store and bought a 32D Panache Endurance, size picked by the fitter there. Once I got home and tried it on again I hated it. Besides possible sizing issues, I don't understand how an underwire sports bra with no padding is supposed to keep a nipple from bouncing when there's 3+ inches of tissue between the underwire and the nipple...? I jumped around and did jumping jacks, and I definitely feel nipple ligament strain. It's not painful with those few jumps but I don't trust it at all for a 60-minute long run. I also hate the feeling-- it feels like I've just covered my boobs with plastic bags stapled to my sternum. And, of course, my nipples stick right out.

I have race photos where I can see my nipples though the padding of the (disappointing) Brooks bra and my race shirt. Because this whole topic gives me the low self esteem of myself at 14 years old, that's all I see when I look at those pictures. So. Good padding is a must.

I've never cared about uniboob.

I really want to love the SheFit Ultimate sports bra. It's adjustable, closes in the front, and has great practical padding. I got a small one week ago and it obviously doesn't fit right, but if I tighten everything down it stops the boob pain! It also digs into my shoulders, but right now that's preferable and it's the only bra I plan on running in until I find something better.

Thanks!

Edit: for the love of all that is holy, I'm on mobile and can't get the text formatting of the measurements list to not look weird!

Edit 2: I'm in the US. Yes, that's probably where some of my nipple self consciousness comes from.

Discussion I don’t like how properly fitted bras make my boobs look Spoiler

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I feel like it’s the only place I can.

I have very saggy projected boob. There’s probably four inches where my boob is rested against my chest. And I know that that is not a unique problem, but I just find that underwire bras make my boobs pointy. And they’re all so ugly. Every time I try to look up bras it feels like every listing is like “bra for saggy old woman boobs” and I feel like shit.

I want to feel pretty. But I can’t when I’m wearing granny bras.

It feels like my only solution is breast reduction, which would be a long way down the road for me.

I guess this is just a vent or me looking for encouragement that there’s a bra out there somewhere that has support and makes me feel good.

Question is there a bra that pushes breasts together rather than just up? Spoiler

i am looking for a bra that pushes your breasts together. I have breasts that are decently far apart so some push up bras don't really do much.

Question Need to know what new size to request in exchange (28DD band was too tight) Spoiler

Hi all,

I recently ordered this bra in the mail. I'm a big fan of simple, non-pushup, non-lace bras.

https://www.bravissimo.com/products/ultimate-comfort-bra-ln909/#blush-ln909bls

According to the calculator in this sub, I'm a 28DD, and indeed, when I tried on the bra, the cups themselves felt very comfortable. I actually looked smaller than I'm used to, didn't feel like I was falling out of my bra, and I didn't have to tighten the straps to the point of digging into my shoulders to achieve support. No gore riding up either, which is typical for me.

However, the band was way too tight! It dug into my ribs at even the widest hook, and really cut into the skin under my arms too. I felt like I was wearing a corset!

I'd like to exchange it for a 30 band of the same type. However, I'm not sure what that means for cup size. Do I ask for a 30DD? A 30D?

Thanks gang!

Store Review Nordstrom Is (Still) Trans Friendly Spoiler

https://imgur.com/a/vod8QRF

Some of you may remember my asking Is Nordstrom (Still) Trans Friendly? last week.

Thanks to another Redditor's help, I set aside all my anxiety (not really!) and made an appointment. And the outcome was quite different from what the ABTF calculator suggested. (To be fair, that could also be a measuring error on my part. It's more difficult to measure yourself, I think.)

Danielle was really great. Besides my clinician, she's the only stranger I've come out to. I even showed up in boymode because...Texas. And no amount of estrogen, makeup, and hairspray is going to allow me to pass without surgery.

She guided me to one of the quieter (but sadly, not entirely private) fitting rooms. With a voice that's about three octaves below sea level, I was so self-conscious about speaking that I eventually started whispering. There were definitely other women in there getting fitted, and I was a nervous fucking wreck. 😰

Given how busy it was, she did a good job balancing being pulled in several directions at once while remaining calm under pressure. She took two quick measurements rather than the six suggested by the calculator here: simply underbust and bust. And sadly, she did both with my clothes on.

That's weird to write, but I suspect she didn't realize I was wearing a cotton bralette under my polo when I arrived. When I started taking off my shirt, she stopped me and said to leave it on. I'm guessing (because she didn't say) that she thought I was about to be completely exposed. Either way, I'm not sure how accurate those measurements could have been.

Then she asked me what I had in mind.

Despite all the research I've done, and despite having a teenage daughter, I had no real idea what I wanted for myself. 🤷‍♀️

Also, it's weird how you can be perfectly calm and collected while bra shopping as your daughter's parent, but then allow nervousness, self-consciousness, and anxiety to completely wreck your logical brain when it's you on display.

Despite my being very little help to her, Danielle ran off to grab some options. We went through maybe 10 different bras before settling on three: a demi-cup push-up, a wireless, and a T-shirt bra, each from different brands: SKIMS, Natori, and Wacoal.

And as a bonus, they had the perfect colors...light blue, white, and pink! 🏳️‍⚧️

I do have two critiques of the experience.

First, I would have really, really, REALLY preferred a more private, one-on-one appointment. I probably would have been considerably less nervous and more capable of getting out of my own head if I hadn't been so conscious of the other women nearby. I know it's a department store, and I know I'm not the only customer, but having that little bit of privacy would have made an enormous difference. I'll likely shop online going forward, now that I (maybe) know my size. (Though online returns aren't particularly simple given where I live.)

Second, I wish Danielle had been a little less passive and taken a more active role in teaching and guiding me. Almost like an older sister teaching her younger sister something she was never taught growing up.

Unfortunately, I'm probably twice her age. And I know that when I was in my 20s, I was considerably more deferential when interacting with someone twice my age. In this case, I would have preferred to be the deferential one. I didn't want to have to figure everything out or know which questions to ask. I wanted someone to teach me.

In hindsight, I should have said this when I arrived. I'm the older (and allegedly wiser) human here. I should have had the wherewithal to convey that preference, but I let my nerves get the better of me. So this critique is really more about me than her.

That said, none of that takes away from how kind and professional she was. I never felt judged or unwelcome, and given how terrified I was of the whole experience, that counts for quite a lot.

I think the part that's still sinking in is that I actually did it. I walked into a very crowded Nordstrom at what felt like the busiest mall in the entirety of the DFW metroplex on a Sunday afternoon, told a complete stranger I was transgender, and let her help me shop for bras. For myself. Not for my daughter, not for someone else, but for me.

And I walked out with three of them!

I'm 41 years old, I've been on HRT for 18 months, and I'm still figuring out things most women had someone teach them decades ago. It's a strange combination of being old enough to have raised a daughter and feeling like a completely clueless teenager when it comes to my own body.

Anyway, I don't know that I'd call the experience comfortable. LOL. But I'm glad I went, and I think if there's a next time, it will be a little easier.

And for anyone else wondering whether Nordstrom is still trans-friendly, at least at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, TX, my experience was a yes. An imperfect, anxiety-ridden, occasionally awkward yes, but a yes nonetheless. ❤️

P.S. I went in expecting a 34C based on my own measurements and the ABTF calculator, but I walked out with three 36As. 🤷‍♀️

I'm still a little confused about that. My cotton bralette compresses my breasts somewhat, so I was concerned that measuring me over both the bralette and my polo might have resulted in an underestimate. But Danielle saw me wearing just the bras numerous times and never once questioned the A cup. We even tried a B cup, and she pointed out that it was gapping a little.

What's weird is that I already own a $6 Walmart Joyspun bra in 34C, and it doesn't gap either.

That said, I couldn't stand wearing the Joyspun for more than a few hours. There's a little bit of reinforced stitching where the straps attach to the cups that kept digging into my chest. I assumed that was just what you get with a $6 bra, but now I'm wondering whether the size was part of the problem. 🤷‍♀️ Maybe both.

Soooo.... I'm now much less certain about my size. LOL. Is this just a matter of a $6 brand versus a $60 brand and different cup shapes fitting differently, or am I missing something?

Measurement Check 10G band too loose, cups too small, 8H band too tight and cups too big Spoiler

• Upvotes

I have no clue on what to do here, my 10G bras are way too loose around the band but im spilling in the tops of the cups, but my 8H bras feel too tight around the band and too big in the cups, they wrinkle at the tops,

My measurements (in inches)

Loose-29

Snug-28

Tight-27

Standing-37

Leaning-38.5

Laying-36

The calculator has given me 6HH/J, but im not sure on if thats correct? Wouldn't the cups be the same/slightly bigger then the 8H? Ive measured a couple times and have landed between 8H and 6HH/J, so maybe im off in my measurements? Im just so confused

I’m struggling to find a bra that doesn’t cause me pain

Hi everyone, I’m struggling to find a bra that fits properly that doesn’t make my pain worse. I have arthritis in my neck, mid back, and right rotator cuff, and I deal with constant neck, shoulder, and back pain. Every time I wear a bra or sports bra my pain and inflammation gets worse. I also get pinched nerves quite often. The only bra that I can somewhat tolerate is the medium impact SHEFIT sports bra but the straps are especially painful on my right shoulder due to where the tightening strap on the bras band sits on my back. Overall, I’m having a really hard time finding the right fit bra. If I get a band that fits properly around my ribs, my boobs spill out of the cups. But if I go up in size to fit my boobs, the band is too loose(causing me pinched nerves). My bra calculator suggested a 34H/I US or 36G/H, but I still haven’t found anything that fits right and feels comfortable. I’m constantly using pain patches and just want a bra that supports me properly without making my pain worse. Has anyone dealt with similar issues and found a bra that works for them? I’d really appreciate any recommendations! Thank you in advance:)

Loose underbust: 36 inches
Snug underbust: 34 inches
Tight underbust: 32 inches
Standing bust: 42 inches
Leaning bust: 45 inches
Lying bust: 43 inches
Suggested starting size: 34H/I
US Sister size: 36G/H US

Recommendations? So glad to have found this group, I need help finding new work sports/t-Shirt type bras Spoiler

I need help and I’m struggling to find the best bra recommendations. I work in a job that is either completely active and running around or sitting on Teams calls for hours. I prefer sports type bras, but I’m having a heck of a time finding good ones.

My current best fitting bra is a VS one that’s probably 20 years old now and the band has stretched sooo much. The one I bought a year later is supposedly the same exact bra and sizing but I have four boobs. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sizing: 34-36 depending on weight gain/loss. DD-ish also slightly dependent on weight and now age/deflation.

Needs: supportive, comfortable, and hides the fact that I’m almost always cold (no high beams). And a very supportive/absorptive band to help with the boob sweat. Athletic is very much more the style, functional and comfortable for the 100+ temps and still have some coverage for the “high beams” when I’m actually inside with AC.

The best I found so far was a Deluth type bra but I really prefer adjustable band and straps if I can find it. Help me find the best bras!!

Fit Check Still not a good fit and no support, need more suggestions please! Spoiler

Hi all,

This is the Panache Ana plunge in a 32FF - the gore is far too high and I had pain under my armpits just from trying it on.

Also neither of the bras I've tried so far have been in any way supportive - the lace is very pretty but isn't going to give me the support I need for a full day at work.

Can anyone help with any more suggestions??

Question Absolutely no gap between breast tissue after breast reduction? Spoiler

I had a breast reduction in May, from a 30J. I'm noticing now that there is breast tissue on top of my sternum, as in there is squishiness on top of it, and I can't imagine that any gore would feel comfortable as it would be poking into flesh. Are there any styles that could potentially work with that or am I screwed? Still wearing Macom post surgery bras presently, and my skin is VERY VERY SOFT which is why I don't feel comfortable going bra-less, which is really uncomfortable and makes me sad tbh. Being able to go bra-less was the main goal I shared with the surgeon. He thinks he made me "a B cup". Obviously, he didn't.

Loose underbust 31.8, Snug underbust 30, Tight underbust 28, Standing bust 39, Leaning bust 40, Lying bust 38. Definitely bottom full and centre full, wide flat shape.

Trying to transition to wired bras for the first time, advice? Spoiler

Hi all, first time posting because I need some advice.

For context, my mom has always shopped for bras for me ($15-$40 bras), and was always adamant I get nonwired bras because wired were "going to be uncomfortable" for me. We'd shop at places like Marshalls and Macys for bras, and as someone with a bigger bust I never really found the right bra or would always have to tighten the straps. The most comfortable I've worn was Maidenform's 'Women's Full Figure Beauty Back Smoother Wireless Bra 71380', and even then I hate how it rides up my back and I can feel my lower boob slip out sometimes.

Now as a 23 y/o and with some financial independence, I want to try wearing wired bras to give me support and not feel so saggy all the time. I believe I am a 38C. I have tried some VS lingerie (38D according to them) but the wire would hurt when I would sit down (is this normal?) and I feel like it fit tight, I would also have some slippage on the side. I see a lot about the Skims teardrop bra, and brands like Chantelle and Panache. Also would love to know if anyone has gone through a similar upbringing, I always felt left out in locker rooms with my cheap bras. Thanks!

EDIT: Just did the calculator and holy crap I'm a 32E...

Recommendations? Need Recommendations, 38DD Wide/Short Cups Spoiler

Hiya! I am having a rough time finding the right bra for me. The calculator here recommended 38DD/DDD. I've tried a handful of styles, and the best fit was the Skarlett Blue Rouse Full Coverage Balconette in a 38D. The cups were a bit too narrow, but otherwise the shape seemed good. I tried a 38DD, which fit width-wise, but the cups had a bunch of empty space at the top.

So I think I need something with cups that are wide but short, if that makes sense. I have very little fullness on the top, so I fill most DD/DDD cups only partially, even if the underwire fits (yes, I do scoop and swoop). My breasts are also pretty close together. Here are the styles I've tried so far, and none of them has fit right:

  • Skarlett Blue Minx Unlined Balconette
  • Skarlett Blue Entice Unlined Balconette
  • Skarlett Blue Rouse Full Coverage Balconette
  • Natori Feathers Contour Plunge
  • Freya Flirt Padded Half Cup
  • b.tempt'd Untamed Unlined Demi
  • b.tempt'd Ciao Bella Lightly Padded Balconette

I have no idea what to try next. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Help me order bras from Poland aaaaaa Spoiler

Okay guys, after a truly horrific gauntlet of trying bras for the past three months, I have finally figured out that my particular gauntlet of being extremely petite/narrow shouldered plus very close set/extremely projected breasts (30gg per the calculator, but in Comexim i ended up being like 65J, and I basically have all my breast tissue projected, none under the arms, etc, pendulous) means it's Polish bras or nothing. Every other bra (especially UK ones) are just too wide in the wire, and either end up somewhere in my armpit or just across my ribcage. I've tried two polish brands, Comexim and Ewa Michalek, and Comexim was the only one that I felt really suited, and only (for some reason) the unlined balconette kind of style (the miriam).

The problem is that the comexim unlined bras seem to only be available in the US in dark teal and like... black and red, and I would like to wear white shirts sometimes. I'm giving the lined one another chance and sizing up in the cup again in hopes I can get the gore to lie flat (it keeps floating, but I suspect this has more to do with how close set my breasts are and the shape of them than the actual cup size) but if that doesn't work, I have basically resigned myself to ordering at least one custom bra from Comexim in a color that I can wear under white shirts.

Has anyone ever done this before? Opening the website was a little overwhelming-- I couldn't even tell what was padded/unpadded, though I've gathered kind of that the balconettes are mostly unpadded, and that there are no style/colorway kind of thing, but each bra is basically unique.

So--

1: Is there any way to tell which bras are padded vs. unpadded other than squinting at the pictures on my laptop?

2: Which non-black, non-parrot colored unlined bras exist in the Comexim brand? And if they don't, then is there any flexibility with asking for color customization? I know I can ask for lower wings and moving the straps in (which I plan to do). I live in a humid, tropical place, and the lined ones seem to disagree with my boobs and not want to lie flat with the gore.

Help with bra fitting - weird gaps, show through Spoiler

I have been trying to find a comfortable bra that fits and am coming up short after trying many! I find a fuller coverage cut more comfortable but am open to any options. The main problems I am having are:

  1. gapping in the cups, midway between the gore and the top of the cup, despite the actual edge of the cup fitting against my skin. Its almost like there is a tiny air pocket where tissue should be. This causes irritation as breast tissue moves around.
  2. armpits cut way too high, so any time I flex my pec forward the bra moves around and gaps
  3. insufficient nipple coverage, every molded, lined, tshirt, etc bra shows through when cold
  4. straps set too wide, center pull is most comfortable

I’e love to find a full coverage, not pushup but heavily lined/padded bra that covers the girls without gapping. So far the best fit I’ve found is the b.tempt’d future foundation contour but it is too see through. Natori feather lites fit well except armpits are too tall and also too see through. I would be grateful for recommendations and/or strategies to determine if shape will fit before ordering.

I’m currently wearing 32d based on Nordstrom measurements which seems to match ABTF calculator.

Hi everyone! I need some bra help! Trying on bras makes me really anxious because I've never found any that fit. So I need something that's easy to order online and has simple/easy return policy. Also, I have been wearing wireless bras per my doctor's recommendation, but now I'm wondering if it wasn't the wire that was an issue, if it was the sizing that was cutting off my lymph nodes.

I'd love a check on my size and some recommendations.

Location: United States

Measurements (inches):

Underbust, loose: 33

Underbust, snug: 32

Underbust, tight: 31

Bust, standing: 42

Bust, leaning: 44

Bust, lying down: 40

Calculator results:

UK: 32H/HH

US/Canada: 32K/L

My shape (as best I can tell):

Not shallow. I fill my cups

Full on bottom

Center full

Thank you!!

Measurement Check Marks and pain from the end of underwire Spoiler

snug underbust: 72.5cm

tight underbust: 72cm

standing: 87.5cm

leaning: 91cm

lying: 88cm

Suggest size is a UK 30E or Aus 8E

have tried Freya Love Crush and Lounge TShirt styles. Both looked good, first time gore has sat flush against my chest so I was very happy however on the Freya it is rubbing between my chest and armpit and it’s really sore where the underwire ends.

previously I wore a 12B in wireless styles but have not found anything like that in the recommended style. Can anyone give any pointers or can tell me sister sizes so I might find something comfortable? Thank you 🌸

Measurement Check Measurement check—30D and recommendations on brands Spoiler

My measurements are:
30.5
30
28.5
32.75
35
33

Which puts me at a 30D (or 32C)

I recently lost weight, about 20 lbs, but I have been wearing a 32D for years

I’m wondering what brands would be a good place to start? I’m 46 years old and I nursed 2 babies for a combined 5 years. I prefer to buy locally but my options are very limited—just target and Kohls. Am I better off just ordering online?

Measurement Check Don’t know where to look after confusing abtf size Spoiler

If any of you guys who really understand sizing could help me out that would be amazing. I have spent SO much money and time trying to find a bra that fits with no success. I put my measurements into the calculator and got 30F UK. Im American but the only place I could find with similar sizes was ASOS so I ordered their 30F and 30FF UK. They were too small. So I’m thinking I could be a 30G UK/ 30I US?

Im ordering their 30G UK and I’m keeping an eye on HSIA on Amazon which seems to be promising but the only color they have left in US 30 I is neon green.

If anyone has size or store recommendations that would be greatly appreciated. I am feeling very lost.

My measurements from a bra that fits if helpful:

Loose Underbust: 30
Snug Underbust: 29
Tight Underbust: 28
Standing Bust: 36
Leaning Bust: 37
Lying Bust: 36

Size: 30F UK, 30G US

Also, I am starting to think my breasts are closer together and more top weighted than normal. Not sure if there’s more legitimate terminology I’ve missed.

Measurement Check [Measurement check] 32G vs. 34F vs. 34FF Spoiler

Okay team, I remeasured more carefully and ended up with these measurements:

Loose 33in

Snug 32.5in

Tight 32in

Standing 39in

Leaning 43in

Lying 39.5in

The calculator originally gave me a recommendation of 32G, but now it's recommending 34F. I tried the Freya Starlight in both sizes and in the 32G, the cup was too tall and wide- it gaped at the corner part of the cup that attaches to the straps, but dug into my armpits. The 34F seems slightly too small in the cup. The gore sat flush on both but made my sternum ache. So should I try cut the difference and try the 34FF or just go to a different style?

I also tried the Freya Deco Plunge in 34F because my breasts are very close together and the gore hurts on a lot of bras or just doesn't sit flush. The cups on that were almost too small and gave me crazy cleavage. Good for date night but uncomfortable.

The problem I'm having with a lot of recommendations is that my skin is really sensitive to lace, so I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations of styles that may work that don't have lace.

Thanks!

I finally found a bra that fits me super well. The Elomi Morgan in a 40G is the first bra I’ve ever had where the gore feels exactly perfect against my chest and the cups are exactly right. The straps don’t slip and it’s comfortable.

But it has very clear seams and is unlined. This is fine under some clothes, but not everything. The seams show through some of my shirts and hit at weird spots on the shirt patterns, so it can look pretty bad. And I have pretty projected breasts with nipples that stick out pretty far and obviously at the slightest chill. Also, the lace can show through on occasion, it’s just not smooth and flat.

I have some t shirt bras of varying brands and none are quite right. If it’s a plunge, the gore twists and my boobs fall out of the cup towards the middle. Some fit really well at the band and the underwires feel fine, but the top of the molded cup is either empty or sometimes flips outwards. Demi cups tend to be an issue and my boobs pop right out of the top.

Does anyone have similar issues, or fit well in the Elomi Morgan, and have a good molded smooth cup option? I would love to not look borderline 50’s bullet bra style if at all possible.

My current bra i would even say feels kinda tight? Like if I wear it all day, i will find indents on my skin. So I'm really nervous to commit to a size 32, especially since they are a bit pricey 😓
