Amazon Music gatekeeping my library and "forgetting" how to play in my order
I am so done with Amazon Music. I have a custom library of over 700 songs that I built manually, but whenever I ask Alexa to play it or turn off shuffle, I constantly get hit with a glitchy "sorry about that."
We all know it’s not an accident. Amazon’s algorithm is clearly prioritizing songs based on what costs them the least to stream, not what I actually want to hear. There are literally hundreds of tracks in my own library that Amazon has never once shuffled into rotation. It feels like they are actively hiding the music I pay to access just to protect their bottom line.
To make matters worse, I tried searching for user-created "community playlists" to find real, human-curated music away from their corporate algorithms. Guess what? It’s completely impossible. Despite what their support pages claim, Amazon doesn't actually let you search for user profiles or public community playlists in the app. Every single search result is an Amazon-owned, algorithmically pushed product. They have built a complete closed sandbox to control exactly what we hear and maximize their own payouts.
I would gladly jump ship to Spotify or another platform, but Amazon has me trapped through their hardware. I have 9 Echo and similar Alexa devices around my house. Platforms like Spotify limit multi-room playback configurations or simultaneous streams to fewer devices, making it impossible to stream everywhere at once without paying a fortune or fighting restrictions. Amazon purposefully rigs the system so their hardware forces you to stay on their controlled software.
Has anyone else noticed Alexa "conveniently" glitching out when you try to play your own custom order? Also, if anyone has found an external forum where real people actually share direct links to their Amazon playlists, please drop them below. I’m tired of being held hostage by this ecosystem.
