Other How come spanish speaking Caribbean nations don't speak a spanish-based creole?
Why is that? My prediction is that Latin-speaking European powers (Portugal, Spain, kinda France) didn't have racial segregation but only racial Hierarchy.
Thpugh, Haiti might be a bit unique since the french actually emposed strict racial segregation due to the mulatto population. Therefore haitian speak a french creole.
In contrast to the germanic speaking European powers (the English and the Dutch ) where racial segration and racial was rigid and stricter, that's why majority english and dutch speaking Caribbean nations speak a creole.
I could be wrong tho.
