Vancouver => Jasper => Banff => Vancouver 7 days road trip
Thanks in advance to all people here. I have gone through the discussions here and based on that came up with a plan to visit both Jasper and Banff.
Mid May 2027
Saturday morning start from Vancouver and stay somewhere on the way to Jasper
Sunday and Monday nights in Jasper
Tuesday and Wednesday nights in Banff/Canmore
Thursday night stay in Revelstoke
Friday evening reach back in Vancouver
This is the route I am considering:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/7rjZzwGkmSPXNcMX8
We need to be back in Vancouver by Friday evening.
We don't mind long distance driving and not looking at doing a lot of hiking.
One way car rentals from Calgary or Edmonton to Vancouver are way too much expensive and I have discarded that.
Based on what I read on this group, Moraine lake will not be open and few other attractions may not be open, however as long as roads are safe to drive, we should be ok.
We are a family of 4, with two teens and renting a car from Vancouver Airport.
Any feedback/suggestions/recommendations, please let me know.

Banff honeymoon
thoughts on the best months for Banff. we don't mind colder weather (or a little bit of snow), and less crowds are great, so open to any month where its unlikely that there will be a lot of snow to where it would prevent us from hiking, driving, etc. Thank you!

Question Winter Golf
Are any of the golf courses open during the winter?
There are a couple of courses here in Lethbridge that are not officially open but if the weather is decent you can walk on and play on the course. You just can’t play off the green and the flag is planted in front of it.
Question Has anyone had eyes on the Legacy Trail today?
Trying to find out the current conditions of the trail, I wanna bike it tomorrow around 2pm when its about +6°c, hoping that the snowfall of last night will clear by then. Not sure though if the road is currently still bikeable.

Worried about my Rimrock booking!
I have a trip planned for my family of 5 (two adults, three teenagers) to Banff for the week after Christmas. Online reviews of the Rimrock are very mixed. I'm seeing people post as of a few days ago that things are still under construction, but then others say it's all done. Also seeing lots of complaints about the service. Would love feedback from someone who has been there within the last few weeks!
I have a day to cancel. Should I consider hotel Canoe? Peaks? Or an Airbnb in Canmore? Our trip will be a couple days of skiing, dog sledding, sleigh ride, ice skating, maybe tubing, and just enjoying Banff. Really appreciate your feedback! TIA.

Visiting later this week - driving conditions?
I’m visiting with a toddler and baby later this week. We rented a minivan but I’m wondering how are current driving conditions? Trying to decide if I should look into a tour or shuttle service to drive us into Banff National Park and other areas, or if we should be ok driving ourselves in a rental

Rimrock vs Banff Springs
We are looking to book a stay in December. We have stayed at both the Rimrock (before renovations) and Banff Springs in the past. We have enjoyed them both for different reasons.
We are wondering if anyone has stayed at Rimrock since the new makeover? If so, how was the stay? Are the major renovations over? How was the food?

Question Trick or Treating in Banff?
I will be visiting Banff next weekend for a conference, and my kiddo is tagging along for the trip to beautiful Banff! Any tips for trick or treating routes? I just have a 7year old, so we’re not going hard, but still want to have a Halloween 🎃 Thanks for any suggestions!

October at Fairmont Banff Springs
Was skeptical about the room rate… but I’ve never stayed in such a nice hotel! The staff and facilities were amazing for a family of 4 (kids 5 & 8).
I recognize it’s mid October and not the “busy season,” so we got in on a lower room rate than other times of the year… but it was so worth it (with US exchange rate).
Highly recommend this hotel and Banff in October… weather was chilly, but sunny. We packed warm clothes and didn’t have any crowds around town, on trails or at Lake Louise. The hotel provided plenty of included activities (scavenger hunts, games, family bingo, outdoor heated pools, wildlife tours, and more!). We will be back!

Looking for recommendations for November!
Hi all! My future husband and I will be coming to Banff in late November for our honeymoon. We are looking for recommendations for things to do/hikes/restaurants/local events/etc! We are also traveling from south US and have never experienced snow/icy roads before, so what are some packing essentials we need to bring? We are coming for 5 days! Thanks in advance!

Photos/Videos Peyto Lake on a gloomy day.
First trip to Banff. We traveled the Icefields Parkway up to Athabasca Glacier on October 2 in gloomy weather and were met with this amazing rainbow and break in the clouds when we arrived at Peyto Lake. Truly unforgettable and I can’t wait to go back to the park. Happy to share more if you all like my editing style!

Question Restaurant recommendations
HI all. I’ve asked a few questions regarding my trip coming up from Christmas Day through 12/30 and gotten lots of great input. I’m sure a lot of these questions get repetitive and annoying but I searched and didn’t see a thread like this in the past few months and things can change so fast in the restaurant world.
I’m a career foodservice guy so when I travel picking the right places to eat is very important to me. We like all cuisines so fire away. Just from some research I’ve done here’s a short list of places on my radar:
Waldhaus
GRAPES
Beer Street Tavern
Block Kitchen and Bar
Anejo
The Eddie l
Toolouslous
Ramen Arashi
Rinse bar
Banff Ave Brewing
Three Bears Brewing
Thoughts on these? What am I missing?
