USA Can’t seem to get back in

Hey all, recently left big4 for industry and I have big regrets. I left $98.9k in tax for $92.5 (plus 10% bonus) in industry, but only 3 weeks of time off and no parental leave or sick time (soon to be relevant).

In addition to that, the culture of this industry company is awful. I didn’t see it before hand but man it has me missing everyone I worked with at big4.

Background: 1.5 years of digital audit experience
2 years of speciality tax
1 year of private general tax (corporate and individual)
2 months of industry financial

Problem- i want to go back to the big4. I have contacted a senior manager I had at the big4 I left and they said there is not a need for me to come back at this point. Since I can’t get back there (tax), I’m hoping to target an actual audit position (for some reason this eluded me ever since college, despite core audit being what I applied for right out of college).

Any tips on how to get back in? I’ve applied to a few positions even at other big4’s but they have been declined within a day.

Sorry in advance if I’m unreasonable.

Deloitte Rejection after interview

Long story short i went thru two rounds of interviews for deloitte swe analyst position.

After waiting two weeks to hear back, i received a generic rejection letter. Even though i thought i did really well during the interviews.

I understand that there are so many variables behind the scene during recruitment (team preferences, better candidates, etc) but after so much anticipation just to get rejected. This is a let down.

Just want to vent here nothing else. Good luck to anyone who’s still in the process.

Canada Why do Big 4's hire so much in advance??

• Upvotes

I accepted an offer for an entry-level full-time position at EY starting in January 2028.

I feel so grateful and happy, but I honestly wonder why do Big 4's start their recruiting so much in advance?? September 30 was the deadline in Canada to apply for January 2028 full-time positions.

I would understand if they were recruiting 8-10 months in advance like they do for internships, but why does it make sense for a firm to hire 15 months in advance? Even if it's because they compete between themselves for talent, so much can happen in 15 months.

What guarantees the firm that I will still have the interest to work for them in 15 months? What if in the meantime I get a better offer at another firm? What if I don't like accounting in 15 months and I want to switch area?

Canada Canada East Big 4 Intership or Consulting Power Electrical engineering intern summer 2027?

Both interships are for summer 2027 and will be my third . Deloitte Infrastructure and Capital Analyst Intern worth taking over Big Engineering Consulting Firm in Low/Medium Voltage ? Deloitte pay is lower and can’t be credited for my P.eng liscensing time requirement as an EIT. However is the name worth it for long term ? I am pretty sure return offer for engineering consulting firm is around 80k+ bill by hours + overtime. but Deloitte has better ceiling no ? Will going with Deloitte cripple my career as an Electrical Power Engineer and pigeonhole me in consulting ?

Deloitte Deloitte Canada Internal Transfer Possibility?

I'm about to start my full-time role as a consultant within IT audit and assurance team. However, I have a much bigger interest in tech & transformation consulting. I'm thinking about maybe staying in my role for a year before seeking opportunities to transfer. If you're working at Deloitte Toronto,
- How easy do you think an internal transfer is?
- What should I do to maximize my chances, apart from networking with my desired team?

Appreciate anything you could share!

PwC PwC Risk & Regulatory Financial Services Risk Consulting intern interview: what was the case like?

Hi everyone, I have an interview coming up for PwC's Risk & Regulatory, Financial Services, Risk Consulting Summer 2027 intern role. I've never done a case interview before and I'm trying to understand more about what to expect.

For anyone who's done this interview: what was the case like? Was it interviewer-led? What kind of topic or risk area did it cover? Was there any market sizing or math involved? How much guidance did the interviewer give along the way? How long was the case portion?

Any tips for someone new to cases would be really appreciated. Thanks!

USA insight into Big4 resources for first year new hires

hi, I’m hoping to hear from those of you who can share what to reasonably expect as far as mentorship, guidance, and basically support for new hires. I keep hearing so many horror stories as to the high burnout rate for first years in Big4, and wondering if I should take advantage of the tax internship offer I have for this summer; or should I take an offer for a corporate tax position instead. ( I know- two totally different career paths) I am a hard worker and a quick study ( in tax at least) and am currently
maintaining a 4.0 and on track
to pass my CPA by the time i obtain my iMACC in May of ‘28. I certainly appreciate any insight here .

EY CBS SY Interview to Offer

Hi all. Currently in process for an internal assistant director role. I had a back to back interview for EY CBS position that lasted 30 min each with some associate directors on the team I’m interviewing for. The interviews took place on the 19th of Oct.

Before that, had another interview with a different associate director on the team. That interview concluded on 10/16.

Curious to hear when I should be hearing back about next steps. I keep seeing that people heard back the next day, but those seem more for internships and campus hires? The position I interviewed for was for an assistant director role.

The role is based in the United States

KPMG KPMG’s C&O summer 2027 internship

Wanted to create a thread for the role above. Doesn’t have to be CA based but would love to hear if anyone’s heard back from KPMG’s C&O summer 2027 internship.

For context, I interviewed on Tuesday and think I killed both rounds.

USA Audit Winter Internship

I just received an offer from EY for an audit winter internship. Looking for advice from anyone who has done a winter internship before. Do you get a lot of overtime from busy season, is the work a lot more, any experiences would be super helpful!

It’s also for their residency program so excited to see how that is!

KPMG EU Citizen with Non-EU Big 4 Audit Experience + C1 German: Why am I getting auto-rejected in Germany? CV

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some honest feedback and insights from people familiar with the German Big 4 / audit market.

Despite having Big 4 audit methodology experience, meeting the language requirement on paper, and not needing visa sponsorship, I keep getting straight-up rejections at the CV screening stage across Big 4 offices in Germany (for Associate / Assistant positions).

Here is my background:
Citizenship & Residency: EU citizen (full right to work, no visa sponsorship needed) and currently living in Germany.
Experience: Previous external audit experience at a Big 4 firm, but completed in a non-EU country.
Language: C1 German (plus fluent English) Plus, the most spoken non-EU language in Germany
