Long Story Short- I rented a stall (4'x10') in the lobby of a ~10 story large corporate building that used to have a small coffee shop in there and placed 2 Vending machines out front of it (seems like I'll have the vending machines paid off in 3-4 years) after that I'll profit~2k a year. Basically a nice hobby.
The interesting part is there is a large metal curtain that I keep closed behind the vending machines where I have access to 7 outlets (1 used by vending machines) and two taps/sinks and the buildings internet. None of which I pay for, I just pay my $200 a month. Its an old building and I highly doubt they have the ability check power/water use per unit (about 20 units in the building, mine is obviously the smallest in the lobby). The unit was empty for years and the buildings management are just happy to have something there.
I've been speculating in Bitcoin for ~2 years, increasing my position from 1% of my investments to ~10% of my investments in July as i have gone further and further down the rabbit hole.
I want to start a small mining operation and grow it slowly over time. There is a chance i continue renting this space for 10+ years. Potentially starting with a ~2500$ investment. I am thinking a hydro bitmain miner s21e because i have access to water and I cant be too loud in the lobby, although I've read some sketchy things on here about bitmain customer service.
I am going through YouTube videos like Red Fox Crypto and Crypto Mining Lab. But there isn't a lot to go off from beginning to end and not much here on Reddit that I can find. Mostly people saying unless you have zero cost electricity its not worth it.
Is there a good hydro miner for beginners tutorial somewhere that I have missed?
Do i need to test the outlets to see if they can handle the power? I good part of this building is it has a massive generator out back, so the power never stops, even in an outage.
Besides getting caught and me being a beginner does anyone see any red flags why this will not work?
What software is generally used when mining? I have an old laptop that can be used.
Any reputable companies that offer assistance in starting out a small mining operation? I'd pay for a consultation or a few hours of support.
Although i am new to this space, i am a technologist and can usually pick things up fairly quickly
