First try at a waterfall!!

Made a post here a couple of days ago asking about how to build a waterfall and took what i got and made something. The finishing touches are not done yet and the terrain around needs another go, but otherwise im quite proud for this being a first. Would love to hear opinions about how it looks and what i could improve.

Btw what pictures/shaders look the best? (It goes complementary, BSL, photon and on the second photo/view angle photon, complementary, BSL) Because none of them really gives it justice so any recommendations for other shaders are appreciated!!

I built a Mayor's Residence for my Minecraft city, but Im not sure what to do with the roof.

What kind of roof would fit this building and which blocks would you recommend using? Im open to completely different ideas as well!

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Help! House Aquarium

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello,

I wanted to build an aquarium in my basement of my house. I am having some issues that is making me come here for advice…

  1. The glass separation is hard to hide

  2. Fish only swim near bottom making it harder to see them without kissing the glass, and the depth and height aspect of the aquarium is useless?

  3. Axolotls don’t actually swim? Making the top part a failure? It looks odd with them just crawling on glass…

If you guys could offer any tips to improve this (could be anything from small adjustments to doing it over completely) it would be greatly appreciated!

How to make this look less repetitive

This is only one Section of a Big Survival base I’m making, this is the industry section where I’ll put smith, wood/stone carver, etc

I tried add a few variation like moss, salmon, the wood in water being darker and eventually try to put some more flora in the water (if I can put it on stone) but idk wjat to do with the walls, sure I made 2nd floor spruce and 3rd oak but it’s very plain, and the roof is more repetitive but Idk how to improve on it.

And the Lighting, I didn’t want to put all those lamps and lights everywhere but it gets super dark.

Also the salmon keep migrating to one area

(Feel free to ask for different angles)

What to put here?

I want something nice enough to be the "village center" but small enough not to cover up surrounding areas.

The space is relatively small and i think putting a tower or a house would make the whole town overcrowded + it blocks my main vantage point i have which is on top of the little cave on the cliff.

Was thinking a small market, especially now when we got the wool slabs and stairs? But on the other hand that feels just too basic.

First large scale build

Ignore the bridge. I have all sorts of issues with that and wish I did it differently.

My issue is the repetitiveness of the “windows”. They are all the same on all 4 sides.

I’m also still working on terraforming and the building foundation. I was planning on having a path going from the end of the bridge to the right, and have it go around the side of the mountain to the back where it’s flat. Then have the upper tier where the wheat is be brought further down to the right, with the retaining wall.

Any thoughts are welcome. Not sure if I 100% like the wood retaining wall also.

Sewers Update(2nd Photo for Old Reference)

Thumbnail

Just to clarify, I build for realism and I only build in vanilla survival no cheats)

The main problems I'm still having are lighting and water levels (see the last photo for reference). The water level is basically the same inside and outside the sewer, so there's barely any height difference for the water to flow. The new design looks better, but the shape makes it seem less functional. Raising the entire sewer by a block isn't possible since it's built directly underneath other rooms.

Aside from those issues, is there anything else I should change to improve the design? These sewers will connect throughout my megabase, so I'll be building them alongside the rest of the base.

need some advice on building a castle here as a beginner

i randomly found this giant mountain range 10k blocks out of my base and my base 750 days of playing is just a wood box

the reason why i am posting this before even making a design is bc i have no castle references and i completely suck at building and id like this to be as perfect as it can be

i am planning to destroy a part of the front of this mountain range since i think it would be a nice entrance and add my castle facing that side,

it honestly doesn't have to be a castle i just want a nice looking base

Any Ideas for my build?

The concept is a mountain ruin with a massive chest room inside for my forever world. Need some idea's or tips to make it stand out more, for example some pillars to add to the entrance and just make the overall build standout more. NOTE: I take a lot of inspiration for my builds online.
