Official Megathread Roommate Finder 2026-2027 [Megathread]

Thumbnail m.facebook.com
2 Upvotes

Hi all,

We’ve been getting a lot of roommate search posts so we are making a megathread. Please exercise caution when searching for a roommate. Always be careful vetting every person you talk to. Also strongly encourage users to check out the Facebook thread. Keep in mind. We are not mods in the Facebook thread, we are unaffiliated with them, but they have a lot more experience helping people find roommates. As an alumni, I can vouch for them, I found every roommate I had during my time at CSULB through the Facebook thread. There are a few other Facebook threads if you just search “CSULB roommate” but the most popular one is the one that’s linked.

Again please exercise caution talking with people on Reddit and be careful what personal information you share, but as requested by popular demand we have made a megathread.

Mod News Minimum Account Age to Post

Due to the recent spike in 1-day accounts, we have decided to set an automod 10-day account age minimum for posts and comments in the subreddit. This should help to reduce the amount of bot and troll activity in the subreddit, and hopefully make it a more enjoyable experience for all of you. Any account that is younger than 10 days will have their post removed until we can verify it's legitimate. At most, there may be a suspension or a ban from the subreddit, depending on user activity.

Transfer Student Question Application Withdrawn

Post image
50 Upvotes

Yesterday I got this email saying my application for spring 2027 had been withdrawn for not completing a separate application process with my intended major’s department. I am genuinely devastated and so confused about this. I did everything I needed to do, such as completing the supplemental application. And according to the school’s website, the portfolio submission for the industrial design program was optional, so I didn’t submit one.

I already have an appointment with an admissions counselor scheduled for tomorrow, but it’s hard not to freak out about this. I also already sent an email to the industrial design program coordinator. I don’t understand what I did or could’ve missed. I cannot afford not to go to school next semester.

Curious if anyone’s taken this class before, if so how was it? The prof only has like one review online and it’s not for this class so that’s sorta iffy on the idea of the workload and grading since it’s an honors course.

Transfer Student Question illustration portfolio question

transfer student here--i applied to the BFA in illustration and got deferred into studio art. i have nothing against studio, but i already have a degree in it and a degree in art history.

question those who were in a similar situation to me but managed to get in: could i see some examples from your portfolio ? i tried to include plenty of observation and creative work. and is it possible for me to still take illustration focused classes even if i'm not in the BFA ?

tldr; i really want to lock in on illustration, not studio, but i didn't get into the illustration BFA.

Major Related Question Who do I talk to or email to get permission to enroll in a class?

I am a Liberal Studies major and I am looking at my course schedule for the spring 2027 semester and I was seeing if I meet all of the requirements for my classes. The classes i'm confused about are L/ST 404 and L/ST 471. They both say there is a potential problem enrolling but I have taken the prerequisites for the classes. For L/ST 404 I think the problem may be that I am still currently enrolled in the pre-req class L/ST 211. Is there someone that I am able to email or talk to before enrolling in them? Is it best to talk to a counselor or email the department head? I haven't had this problem before so I am a bit confused on what to do. Thanks for any help!

Question Process of taking a gap semester?

Hello everyone, this is my first semester at LB as a transfer student. I am looking into taking a gap semester this spring but I have no idea how to start the process or if it’s even possible. I got a concussion in January with persistent symptoms, the major one being chronic dizziness. I get dizzy every single day from basically anything such as standing, walking, sitting in class, a lot of movement and bright lights etc. This makes it extremely difficult to fully grasp the lectures and study for exams/quizzes or even do homework. For this reason, I have seen multiple doctors but my next appointment which will be a “balance test” is February 25,2027 and I believe after that appointment I will be put in some sort of therapy. I believe a gap semester would be the best option for me but is this even a valid reason to take a gap semester? Who do I even talk to about this?

Hello! I’m a CSULB alumni and I’m looking to sell this tablet I bought to a fellow CSULB student for a lower price than I’m listing it on FB marketplace ($190.) It’s the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version. Barely used, I just missed the return window. Comes with the tablet, pen, and folio case pictured. DM me if you’re interested! Willing to meet at a public place nearby campus to hand off.

Transfer Student Question Thinking of dropping a class

I’m currently taking 5 classes and in 3 sub classes because they’re rehearsals at my college. I’m thinking of dropping one of them because it’s just so mentally draining and turns out it’s not even in the curriculum for EE at Long Beach. I got conditionally accepted and I already accepted my offer. I’ve also already submitted all the transcripts but I was wondering if dropping this class would ruin my acceptance? It’s differential equations.

I checked the curriculum and taking differential equations isn’t even necessary. Should I just talk to one of the admissions counselors?

Question Anyone interested in a Smorgasport Shirt? (Size: Small)

Thumbnail

CONTEXT: I attended Smorgasport and originally got myself the shirt in a Large. However, during the event, somehow my shirt got mixed up with someone else’s and I didn’t realize until after I left the event.

Since the shirt doesn’t fit me, I thought I might as well give it to anyone that doesn’t have it or if anyone has a Large Smorgasport Shirt and wants one in a small size.

Please DM if interested.
