FOOTBALL IS IN FULL SWING! But why not have even MORE football? Join the International Simulation Football League today!

Thank you to the Mods for approving this post!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! ITS CFB SEASON! And what better way to enjoy your football but with a side of more football?

The International Simulation Football League (ISFL) is a free (no pay elements at all), community run sim league where you create your own professional football player and guide their career from pre-draft hopeful to championship contender. Go through real drafts, join teams managed by real users, and fight for a chance to hoist the Ultimus Trophy. The league has been going strong since 2016, and the upcoming offseason is a great time to jump in as part of the next rookie class. A very bare bones way to describe our league is its a cross between an RPG and fantasy football, with a healthy serving of an online community.

What does that actually look like?

You'll start by creating a player on our portal; with 30+ position and archetype combinations available, there's a lot of room to build something that fits your style. Want to be a ball hawk safety? A receiving back? A strong legged kicker? Go for whatever sounds the most fun.

Once your player is created, GMs from our developmental league teams will start scouting you for the DSFL Draft. From there, your player competes in games simulated in Draft Day Sports Pro Football 2021 and streamed on our YouTube channel five nights a week, Monday through Friday, with live commentary on Discord. Each season runs about 6 weeks including playoffs, followed by a 2 week offseason capped off by the DSFL and ISFL drafts.

Over the course of your career, you'll earn skill points by spending about 15-30 minutes a week on optional activities; things like predicting game outcomes, responding to fun prompts, or mocking the first round of the draft. You can also earn league currency through your player's contracts or by creating content like articles, graphics, or podcasts. Use it to upgrade your player or collect trading cards of other ISFL players. The league is completely free; no pay-to-win, no hidden costs, nothing to unlock with real money.

What about the community?

With 22 teams across the developmental and pro leagues, the ISFL is home to an active, welcoming group of people who enjoy getting a bit nerdy about football. You'll form bonds with your teammates, dig into stats and league history on our wiki, play fantasy football with yours and others' players, and have a community to chat with daily. It's as much a hangout as it is a football league.

They might just win this one

That offense is damn good. Special teams playing mostly well and the defense has been making stops.

Does Hauss need a nickname?

If so, my dad suggested Hausstile Hejny. Cause he’s always threatening defenses.

What is The most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Colorado State fan? (Football)

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I guess for Colorado State, 1994 vs Utah.Throwing a game sealing 100 yard pick six in your own home stadium must sting.A bit of a reach but 2023 Colorado.A very hyped and anticipated game where CSU almost spoiled the glory of CU before ultimately falling short in OT.1996 “The Drive” Border war vs Wyoming when they drove 96 yards to score a game sealing touchdown.

“Hauss (Hejny) start Saturday” per Jim Mora

Despite saying the role won’t automatically be given back to Hejny after the game Thursday he said that he never wants a guy to “lose his job to injury” and unless something changes Hejny will start at home against the Aztecs.

Sad

I just want to watch my alma matar, who I love to death, compete once a week in football. I know we have big aspirations and are at serious risk of falling behind in the national scene, but I’ll just take a competitive football team at this point. I’m so sick of games being over in the first quarter. I’ll still watch every game until the end. See you all next weekend.

45 points given up in the first half…

Time to waive the white flag on this season. Firing Summers somehow made things worse, unbelievable. Maybe lucky to win 1 more game…

Should Colorado St. fire their DC?

Their defense looks really bad it might be time for a change. At least have someone else call the plays.

“He (Hejny) will be on the trip with us and he'll be suited up,” Mora told reporters after practice today. He added that his availability in the game “is 50-50 and we'll take that right now.”

Sports betting behavior and attitudes survey

Good evening! Posting this outreach has been pre-approved by the moderator team.

I work for the University of Denver and and my team, in partnership with the Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado, is conducting a study to better understand online sports betting behaviors among young men in Colorado. The topic of sports betting has been all over the local and national news lately — just a few examples are:

We are hoping that our online community can help spread the word about our work as we try to hear from as many people as possible who participate in online sports betting in any form. We are looking for men ages 21 to 34 who live in Colorado and have any experience with online sports betting in the past year. The study involves a confidential, voluntary survey that takes ~20 minutes to complete. That's it! The survey asks about attitudes towards sports betting, personal betting habits and perceptions of others' habits, and familiarity with and/or use of responsible gaming tools. The end goal is to help us inform programs and strategies to promote responsible gaming and reduce gambling-related harm in our state, helping people engage in gambling in a way that remains fun and safe!

You can access the survey here. We are reaching out to spaces where we know our target audience congregates like Reddit in the hopes of hearing from as many eligible Coloradans as possible in our efforts to understand this issue and unpack some of the black box of sports gambling. Please feel free to share with those you know who might be able to share their thoughts with us. Thanks in advance for helping us reach members of the greater Colorado sports community whose voices are important to inform this work!
