Anyone need a friend?
All are welcome to message me.

Hello All,
Most people coming to this subreddit are looking to make some new friends and join a community, I've met nearly all of my adult friends in this subreddit and I hope everyone can find friends as well.
With that said, I do want to warn everyone to take caution in meeting strangers from the internet alone. We've had reports of an abusive and dangerous user and just want to warn everyone here about that. We are still on the internet and anyone could be at the other end.
Here are some tips to help keep people safe.
If anyone has any more tips to stay safe while meeting new people IRL, please share them. I'll add any good tips to this post.
My intention isn't to scare people or discourage them from trying to post or make friends, I know it can be tough. All of us working together can create a safer space for everyone. This helped me at a very important time in my life and I really hope it can do the same for everyone here.

Hey everyone!
I’m looking to sign up for the CSSC winter badminton league starting on January 18th, and I'm hoping to find a partner to team up with for the open doubles recreational division!
It’s a 9-week season, and since CSSC doesn't match individuals by age, I figured I'd post here to find someone around my age group to play with. I'm just looking to keep it casual, have some fun, and get a bit of exercise. I'm 26M - have played badminton a little previously but not too much.
If you're down to play some rec badminton this winter and want to register together as a doubles team, drop a comment or send me a DM!

Based on these posts it seems really intimating and really hard to meet new people? Is it really that bad as someone who is moving from a different province?
Having a social group is soooo important and I’m worried it’ll be tough to meet other girls.

The weather is changing, so I'm not sure what I can do indoors to make friends. I live north of the city but don't mind driving downtown sometimes.
Edit: Adding more about my background. I work in healthcare. My interests are: running, gym, history, foreign cuisine, tech, and doom scrolling. The last one is a joke btw.

Hey all ✌️
I'm a 37M looking to make some new friends around the city. Been here a few years now, AB for 15 years, originally from Ontario. I'm self employed, fairly introverted. Alot of my time is spent in the gym, gaming, making music and recently ive been getting into pickleball! I dont go as much as I used to but still do the odd rave and show. I think grabbing coffee or hitting some game cafes would be kinda cool. Figured I would try to meet some people here since I never go out 😅
I should also add I'm sober!
Feel free to comment or DM 🙂

🫶 Looking for a Real Bromance — Affection, Adventures & a Little Bit of Home ❤️
Calgary | Looking for my person to do life with
I’m a 37-year-old guy who believes that life is better when you have someone special to share it with. I’m looking for a younger, affectionate, caring guy who values closeness, loyalty, family, and building a genuine connection.
I’m a naturally caring person. I love cooking for someone, making sure they’ve eaten, spending quiet evenings together, going on spontaneous drives, travelling, discovering new places, and making memories that actually mean something. Honestly, one of my favourite things would be having someone to come home to, cook for, share a meal with, cuddle up beside, and just enjoy the comfort of each other’s company.
I’m looking for that proper bromance — a close bond where we’re comfortable being affectionate, physically close, and emotionally open with each other. Someone who enjoys hugs, cuddles, falling asleep beside each other, sharing a bed when we travel, and being present in each other’s lives. Someone who isn’t afraid of intimacy, whether that means emotional vulnerability, physical affection, or simply letting another guy know he matters to you.
I want us to be able to go out and have adventures, but also be perfectly happy staying in, cooking something delicious, watching a movie, talking about life, or doing absolutely nothing together. The kind of friendship where you can be silly, soft, protective, supportive, and completely yourself.
A little about me: I love cooking, travelling, exploring Calgary, scenic drives, good food, and discovering new experiences. I’m also a proud dog dad, so being comfortable around dogs is a must. 🐾
I value kindness, loyalty, affection, family values, and consistency. I’m not looking for someone who disappears after a couple of conversations. I’d love to find someone who genuinely wants to build something meaningful over time.
If you’re a younger guy who also craves that kind of closeness and connection, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Just be caring, affectionate, open-minded, and willing to let a genuine connection grow naturally.
Let’s cook together, travel together, make memories, look out for each other, and create our own little world of comfort and companionship.
Tell me a little about yourself when you message. What does your ideal bromance look like? ❤️

Hi!
I am moving to Calgary within a few months to attend the MBA program starting in January. I am recovering from social anxiety and longtime isolation so I need to learn to have a convo FAST within a short time frame since this program would require a lot of networking and socialization. I wanna come into the program with at least the confidence to start a convo and to connect with another person.
Would anyone be open to 30-60 minute “coffee chats” while we play some video games? I am also open to 15 minute virtual and in-person regular coffee chats, so please do let me know what you prefer!
I would also like to document my progress going from a shy introvert to someone who can hold a whole conversation, so I would like to record some of the gameplay convos if you’re comfortable with that, it is totally optional! And if I ever post it anywhere I will check with you first. This is first and foremost a personal project :)
I have a gaming pc, PS5 and an Xbox. I am open to any co-op/multiplayer games. Personally, I love shooters - COD and Overwatch but those might be too chaotic for meaningful conversation. My target would be people who want to share their career path and what their work entails but I am open to any convos! Please reach out if you're interested.

As the question says, I'm curious to learn from everyone on how they find things to do around the city and/or if it'll be worth it to build something that helps find things easier?
I am already working on something along those lines and would love everyone's feedback on it!

Hey there! I’m a 26 year old guy who has lived in Calgary for all my life. I moved to Australia for about two years and have recently moved back after many travels. I have a small core friend group but many are either also moving to Australia or have drifted apart over the years I was gone.
I would love to meet some cool likeminded people! I’m very much so a yes man so if anyone has any fun ideas for activities or hangout ideas I’m all in.
I’m extroverted but genuinely feel like I get along with pretty much anyone. A few things about me include: I love traveling, skiing, hockey, being outside in general. I also love a good drink or dinner out as I have worked hospitality for many years. I’m also currently working on getting my sommelier diploma/wine expert courses finished. I also would love to try and get a D&D group together (that being said I’ve never done one before).
Would love to hear from anyone looking to make some new friends!!!!

Heya I’m 22M and I’m moving to Calgary for grad school, I live in a dif continent so safe to say, it’s a big move, I don’t know anyone in Calgary, but would love to meet people, make some great friends, and honestly just learn about the seemingly beautiful city I’ll be calling home for 2 years.
A lil about me, I’m quite nerdy in the sense of games, anime, mythology, books and shows, I love football (soccer) and I’m always down for an adventure, yes that includes a hike tho I will run out of stamina before you.
I’m on and off in the gym, I’m 6’ so I def need it to not look lanky, love music and honestly trying anything, if I don’t already like smth I’d try it and probs at least enjoy it if with friends.
Oh I’m an introvert that’s also social ? If that makes sense.
Ig I just want to meet people, like me or not, as long as you’re not a bigot, please hmu, and let’s chat.
P.S any cool facts I should know ? And how’s the Christmas vibe since I’ll be arriving around then

Hello everyone
I am a 28M (white) and I have always had an appreciation for Asian culture. I enjoy anime and will often go to Asian restaurants.
I have a group of friends but as is the case life gets busy and it can be hard to regularly meet up with people so having more people to talk with and meetup with would be nice.
I am currently just starting to get back into working out, I like to game (mostly console) and enjoy watching sports as well.
Happy to talk anytime and meetup if we vibe.
Feel free to DM if interested

For the first time in maybe 6 years, I've not bought the FIFA / FC series on release day. Does anyone here play? Give me a reason to buy!

My partner and I are in our early-mid 20s. My partner identifies as bi-gender and I am female. We are finding it difficult to find safe spaces in Calgary and area, and its hard to make friends.
Any advice for how to make queer/ally friends in our area? We aren't too much into clubbing. We enjoy playing video games, board games, tcg pokemon, dnd and more.
Feel free to reach out and chat!

Hi I 28F am currently in BC. I’m planning to move in the next few years, as I went to Calgary a few years ago and fell in love. I’d love to get to know people currently in Calgary or surrounding areas. I am spiritual, don’t drink too often or smoke weed too often. I love having girls nights, going thrifting, poetry, photography and love cozy video games. Haha :) thank you 😊 I am in ADHD girlie too and I am very open minded and love having deep talks! :)

Hello my fellow Calgarians. I (34m) just moved into Kensington after a separation and am wondering what the good spots are for some late night activities. I know Hayden Block has half off meats after 10 and has a good bar. I'll definitely be going there. I'm a big cocktail guy. I've seen Pali Room on Google. For the cocktail people here, is that somewhere I should check out? Or is it worth just training into downtown for Proof etc.
Kind of looking for somewhere I can go enjoy a drink/little food by myself, maaayybeeee talk to people if I'm feeling bold. Actually talking to people feels a little crazy though. Let me know your thoughts!

Really need to make more friends here in Calgary! I love hiking, snowboarding, gaming, sports, reading, and just hanging out doing whatever. I’m only looking for other girls to be friends with so please ignore this if you are a guy

As the title says. I actually have plenty of friends that I see often but I’m always open to more friends. I often host parties and game nights, try new restaurants, take road trips and look for new things to do around the city.
If you’re interested in any of these hit me up:
- board game nights
- themed house parties
- filming TikTok Challenges or just filming social media content
- new restaurants and bars
- clubbing (I go maybe once a month and sometimes I don’t even drink. I’m just there for music and to drive my friends home safely)
- dance classes
- kpop
- hikes
- concerts
- festivals, musicals, theatre performances
- going to the movies
- going to the gym. I’m on a cut right now and anyone who wants to work hard and get shredded with me, please hit me up!
- shopping
- Netflix binges at my house or yours
- Asian culture in general
- road trips to the mountains or Edmonton
- bubble tea dates
Any age and race welcome but I do get along better with 25 to 40 year olds. I tend to a bring a young energy to me. I’ll introduce you to my friends too so you can build a community here. I also really like people who just moved to Canada and are here to work temporary! I have made many friends who aren’t citizens yet!
Edit: I work remotely so I tend to travel and work a lot. Anyone who wants to take international trips to Asia with me or just like traveling too, I’m up for it!

I moved to Calgary from BC about a month and a half ago and would love to make some new friends! I’m introverted but want to challenge myself to put myself out there more.
I’m also a Christian, and my faith is important to me, so I’d love to meet like-minded people, but I’m open to connecting with anyone as long as we respect each other beliefs.
For fun I love to go to the cinema, or try out new places, read books and hike. I thought I would give this a try and hope for the best.

Hey YYC gang, I’m a late 30M who moved here early 2018. Was into Tech Consulting and now transitioning to active stock/options trading and Investing. I’m almost done quitting the 9-5 race and am getting into the FIRE(financial independence and retire early) lifestyle. I’d like to meet people of similar interest for coffee meets or hang out downtown clubs/bars/restaurants..
