Unsolicited Advice (i am giving advice to fellow students) [MOD POST] Please have your university admission acceptance results before asking.

There has been an uptick of submissions related to "Should I go to this university" and similarly worded questions when OP has NOT YET received their admission acceptance results.

Thank you.

General Admission Question First time wearing uniforms po, advices pls

• Upvotes

Hello guys! Freshman (M) student here po. Gusto ko po sana humingi ng advices po and masagot yung mga tanong ko regarding school uniforms po. Since elem kasi white tshirt lang sinusuot namin sa school since hindi naman sila strict sa uniform. This is my first time actually na nagsuot ng formal school uniform hehe

How do u guys make sure na malinis and mabango pa rin uniforms nyo? 1 piece lang kasi ang kaya ko mabili now kaya I'd have to wear that for 1 week po for the meantime except on Wednesdays for wash days.

Ano din ginagamit nyong undershirt? Pawisin akong tao eh kaya mainit na nyan since 2 layers isusuot ko.

Lastly po, recommend black shoes pls.

Drop your other advices din pls hehe

Anong mas okay na university to transfer from BSBA FM program? Bumagsak ako sa old school kasi hindi ako mahilig sa Math. I want to shift to Art programs, okay lang kahit back to 1st year. I feel like I'll be happier here. ❤️🎨🖌️

General Admission Question College is about a year away and I want to know how college applications work! And general college stuff a newbie would want to know about

Hi, I, 16F am looking for advice on college applications. And general college stuff a newbie should know about.

Some background on my situation, you can skip to where the font is big if you want.

I'm currently in Grade 11 about to turn 12 in a few months and I'm worrying about College, it's a really big expectation my mother has. I wanna pick the college I want to go to but don't really think I have a choice, my mother is threatening to transfer me back to my home town if my grades aren't all 90's the picture I added is of my grades for the first term, she says if I don't at least have all 90's she'll transfer me back to my home town's highschool to finish there and I'll be going to a local college close to home.

It just feels really unfair to me that I don't get to choose what college I attend, even though she will most likely be paying for it, I have gotten decent grades all through grade's 7-10 all atleast above 91, I even got with high honors when I graduated (?) From Grade 10. Though I don't really have any specific colleges I want to go to, I just want the right to choose what I want for once. I'm looking to study IT and a course I found suitable is BSIT which I found through online searches, there are some schools I found suitable but that is still up for debate with my mother.

My main point:

I have zero idea how college applications actually work, if I can apply to more than one college, if I receive the results through email, what are the requirements, etc.

I want to see what my options are for schools as well but have zero people to talk about it with, my mother will most likely scold me for asking that, I'm not really close with any relatives, and I don't have any friends who aren't in the same grade as me.

Some main questions I have about applying to college:

• Is there a preset for a college application form or is there a spefic form each school gives their applicants?

• Can the results of whether I got in or not be seen through and email the school sends or is there just an announcement on their website of who got in?

• Can I apply for more than one school as a safety net incase the initial school I applied to rejects me?

• Is there a sort of, college entrance exam for all colleges?

• Once I actually get accepted into a college can a parent forcefully transfer me into a different one?

• Is a laptop a requirement to have for college? (I'm an IT course if you didn't read the first part)

That is all the questions I have for now! And thank you if you answered any of my questions!

(I tried posting this on r/studentsph but the MOD bot told me that my post might not fit with the sun Reddit so it redirected me onto here! I didn't want to make a mistake on where to post. But I just don't really know which sub reddits I could ask, sorry if my post doesn't fit!)

CETs How do you study for abstract, logical, and verbal reasoning?

I've got a major entrance exam coming up next year (incoming SHS). There’s no definite date yet, but it’ll most likely be around January or February pa. I have two months to figure out how to study abstract, logical, and verbal reasoning.

For those who’ve taken an entrance exam with these topics, how did you prepare? Nakakalito talaga—I’d say I’m 50/50. Every time I take a mock exam, I usually get about half the questions right. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you so much! 🤍

i applied for the sls financial assistance grant here in dlsu. yung deadline was oct 15, and i submitted naman on the same day ng deadline

according to their posted table containing important dates, nung oct 22 sila nag evaluate ng scholarship applications. it’s oct 26 na and pending pa rin yung files na sinubmit ko

ganyan ba talaga, it takes time for it to be approved? or is emailing them necessary for a follow up?

Grad School NU Las Piñas or Perpetual Help Las Piñas for BSBA Marketing?

Hi! I'm currently choosing between NU Las Piñas and UPHSD Perpetual Help Las Piñas for BSBA Marketing, and I would really appreciate your insights!

I'm a transferee from Lyceum of Alabang and also a working student, so I'm looking for a university na good ang quality of education but also manageable pagsabayin with work.

If you're currently studying in either school or know someone who is, please share your experience! I'm open to both positive and negative feedback.

Thank you so much! 🥹

Hello! Just a quick question; Does CEU Malolos offer OD? If so, could I know what the curriculum is? Like, what subjects are there each year per semester? Thank you very much. :)

Arts and Design Anong thoughts nyo sa LCC Manila at PWU Manila?

I'm planning to transfer to one of those schools and take up Arts. Sa PWU Manila BFA Major in Painting and sa LCC naman BFA in Studio Arts.

I took up BSBA FM in my previous uni and I failed most of my subjects cause I'm really bad at math. Can I transfer to their art programs and just start fresh? Baka kasi hindi nila i-accept yung TOR ko. 🥺

Sa mga naka try na mag transfer, share naman experience nyo...

Others: Luzon Saan nga ba kukuha ng TOR, sa Registrar or College/Dean?

I graduated nung 2022 pa and now lang kukuha ng TOR. Isesend ba nila yun sa College ko then sa Dean ko na kukunin or go directly sa Registrar?

Nahihiya kasi ako sa Dean and Adviser ko kasi I ghosted them after graduation. I mean, di ako nagparamdam coz I was trying to figure out kung ano gagawin ko sa life and now need ko na kumuha ng TOR for employment.

Should I go sa registrar?

Course Dilemma - Help me decide! Deciding on whether should i take BSIE or BSIT

Hi! I'm currently a Grade 12 student deciding on whether I should take BS Industrial Engineering or BS Information Technology and i'm having a hard time which college program fits me well since both of them are my interests.

For those who have studied or worked in either field, I'd like to know how the two degrees compare in terms of college difficulty, actual job responsibilities, realistic starting salaries and salary growth after 3–10 years, and job availability. Which offers better long-term career growth, flexibility to switch industries, and opportunities in multinational companies? How do AI and automation affect their future, and what are the pros and cons? Thank you!

General Admission Question LCC or FCPC? Need advice from students/alumni

Hi! I'm currently a 2nd year BSBA Financial Management student and I'm planning to transfer sana this coming 2nd sem, pero I'm still torn between LCC and FCPC.

Sa mga students or alumni dito from either school, kamusta naman yung experience niyo? Especially sa BSBA FM, okay ba yung quality of education and professors? How about the tuition fees, environment, workload, and overall experience sa school?

I'm also wondering kung mahirap ba magpa-credit ng subjects kapag transferee, since ayoko rin sana na maraming subjects yung maulit ko.

I would really appreciate your honest opinions, kahit pros and cons ng both schools.

Thank you po sa mga sasagot! 🥹

Strand / SHS Question Can I still pursue BSBM if I’m from SSHS-STEM?

Hello! Can I still apply for BSBM (BS in Business Management) ba even if I’m from the SSHS STEM Engineering and Design pathway? Mahihirapan kaya ako?

I’m currently in STEM kasi because I find it more practical, especially when it comes to scholarship opportunities. Kaya I’m still unsure if I should shift to BE (former ABM) or stay in STEM for the second semester.

Whenever I research and assess myself, I always find myself leaning toward the business field. I’m just worried that staying in STEM might put me at a disadvantage when applying for business-related courses in college.

Should I shift na lang ba, or is it better to stay in STEM? I’d appreciate any advice, especially from those who have been in a similar situation. Thank you!
