Advice Wanted professor suddenly doubled our workload with less than 3 weeks left in the semester...
i’m taking a 10 week accelerated intro to psychology course online, and i’m honestly so confused and frustrated with how my professor is handling the last few weeks 🙃
since the beginning of the semester, we’ve been completing one chapter per week. each chapter requires a 500-word essay with apa formatting and peer reviewed sources, a 250-word discussion post, two 50-word replies to classmates, and a quiz. the professor also kept future chapters locked until sunday each week, so we literally couldn’t work ahead even if we wanted to. (there were a few times where he forgot to unlock the following week, last week he didnt unlock it until tuesday even after I emailed him Monday morning lol)
we’ve spent the last 6 weeks completing 6 chapters, and now, with only 19 days left until the class ends on november 15.......he suddenly unlocked all the remaining chapters and announced that we’re required to complete chapters 1-12 by the end of the semester....
so basically... we had 6 weeks to complete the first 6 chapters, and now we’re expected to complete another 6 chapters in less than 3 weeks!!??? that’s 6 essays, 6 discussions, 12 replies, and 6 quizzes, on top of all the reading and research in 19 days....
i know the syllabus usually subject to change, but it only lists assignments through chapter 10. chapters 11 and 12 aren’t mentioned anywhere in the course schedule, but he’s now saying they’re required.
in his announcement, he also said that if any student becomes overwhelmed or experiences anxiety, he’ll immediately go back to one chapter per week. but how would that even work when everything is due november 15??
i understand that accelerated courses are supposed to be more demanding and i have no problem doing the work. i’ve kept up with every assignment so far and have a 98 in the class. i’m just frustrated because we weren’t given the opportunity to pace ourselves or work ahead, and now half the course’s workload is being crammed into the last 19 days lmao wtf
i’m also taking other classes so this is a pretty significant change to my workload
am i being unreasonable for thinking this is unfair? should i email the professor or is this just something i have to deal with? i’ve never been in this situation before and genuinely don’t know what to do.
( attached is the announcement saying he's unlocking the rest of the course + the syllabus )

Funny Nice logo change guys, have you considered not being completely atrocious to use in literally every other regard?
This literally does nothing to fix how terrible blackboard is and it still manages to look like something straight out of Y2K. Blackboard seriously fucking sucks ass and I’m shocked they’ve done nothing to address these issues or fix them.

Discussion InQuizitive kinda sucks.
This isn’t to say the tool is terrible, there’s certainly worse options out there, but the system is inherently flawed. Before your criticisms begin, yes I use their confidence system. I’m trying to use this tool effectively.
Almost all professors I’ve met that grade pieces of paper give partial credit for answers that fall short or don’t fully grasp the answer/question AND they give feedback on what you got wrong. InQuizitive does not account for that. It instead marks a full multi-part question wrong or not giving you advice or course correction other than ‘read this section over’. More often than not the section is an entire passage that has only one sentence related to the one mistake, yet another side effect of grading the whole multi-faceted question off of said mistake.
It’s nice to give your professors an insight into either what you’re able to learn or what they’re teaching effectively, but ultimately wastes more time than just doing individual flash cards that help not only quickly learn, but can be individualized better for what you need reinforcement with.

No advice wanted (Vent) Wtf is wrong with me
I feel like an absolute bum.
I can succeed, I've not put full effort into my classes and it either has me scrambling each quarter or withdrawing.
I need this education so I can support my kids. There's no other options. Yet, I find myself doing anything but what im supposed to. I don't want to give up but this is getting ridiculous. My time framefor graduation is so off because of my issues getting started and sticking to it and creating a routine. Yeah, I have adhd. I've gone thru like 4 meds and nothing has helped. Yes, I know its not a cure all.
I'm just so baffled with myself and the inability to get shit done. I don't want to be working just over minimum wage or 2 jobs or stay on welfare. I really don't. But I'm putting myself in this situation and I feel like there's something genuinely wrong with me.

Advice Wanted I HATE C++!!!
This is partially a vent and partially me desperately seeking advice for my brain's inability to comprehend C++.
TL;DR: Most other coding languages come easily to me. C++ is not one of them, and I need to learn it for a class I'm taking lest I fail it for a second time and set my grad date back by another year.
I'm a chemical engineering major. The last half of my degree, give or take, is very coding/simulation heavy. I expected this. I know coding is a huge part of engineering application these days.
Prior to the class that I'm in right now, I learned how to code in Excel and Matlab in a prior class. I taught myself SQL, DAX, and Python for internship/work purposes. I can write code in those languages all day with minimal outside assistance. I'm able to "translate" what I'm doing from the English in my brain to the language I'm coding in. Those languages are a lot more straightforward for me. But for some stupid reason, my brain REFUSES to do the same with C++.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "Why don't you just code in a different language if you know so many different ones?" Well, my friend, the problem is that the first 3/4 of my semester's course is solely based in C++. I just took my third exam out of 5 (4 in class and 1 final), and I absolutely bombed it. I don't know what my problem is. I genuinely sat and studied for hours every day over the course of a week, and yet when I sat to take the exam this morning, it was like I hadn't studied at all! I'm just so frustrated with all of it.
I know part of the problem is that my professor assumes we've had classes before this one that teach us the "fundamentals" of the statistical and analytical methods we use C++ for in addition to knowing the basics of the language in the first place. The degree path used to be structured such that the majority of our theory based classes would come before this one, but within the last 2 years, the degree path has changed so much that we now have a whole semester after this one that is pretty much all theory surrounding advanced thermodynamics, separations and reactors, process control systems, etc., and the majority of my class has had to seek an enormous amount of help outside of class to be able to keep up.
The problem for me seeking my professor's help is that my professor's office hours conveniently sit right in the middle of my work schedule. I work full time in addition to going to school, and I do this so I can pay my freakin bills and afford to eat. I don't have a choice. So I've had to go to the tutoring center in between classes and try to catch up using online C++ learning resources. None of that has helped me.
So, here I am. Venting and asking for advice for getting my brain to comprehend what I'm being taught. I need this class to move on with my degree path, and since it's only offered once a year, I run the risk of pushing my degree back by another year. I already failed the class once last year, and I had hoped that I would do far better this time around. I am not.
HELP. ME. PLEASE. 😭😭😭

Advice Wanted Team makes me Anxious, What Should I Do?
I am a student athlete. I have a degree already and decided to go back to school this semester and BOY was this a LEARNING EXPERIENCE. I decided to join the track team and I have been training with them since the summer. When I tell you the amount of rudeness and backstabbing I have experienced while being on this team. A few weeks ago I fell and got injured. As I was sitting waiting for my coach to help me, he spent the next twenty minutes talking about the championships while my knee was bleeding out. After the meeting was over, he wrapped it and told me I'm stronger than my body. It hurt so I took myself to the hospital, and they checked it and told me to take off running for a few days. This was on a Wednesday, and I took Thursday and Friday off because I was limping. Saturday there was a race, and multiple people from the girls team were making rude comments to me before during and after the race. I assumed they were mad that I was slow because I got injured. I felt very bad because I wasn't expecting such nastiness from my teammates. There was another race after that which I did successfully, but my knee still hurt. Ever since they were rude to me a about three weeks ago, I have felt uneasy around them. Last week I tell the manager of the team my feelings in confidentiality, and she promised she wouldn't tell the coach about my panic attacks or that I was starting therapy since I wasn't having panic attacks at practice. So what did she do? I found out the next day she told the coach that night I assume everything I told her, even though she promised she wouldn't. I only found out because he sent a message to our groupchat about people staying strong and being loyal. When I asked her what she told him, she told me she didn't have to tell me what was said in a private conversation. I said I wanted to know what was said about me since I was talked about and I revealed some things to her that I wasn't comfortable talking about with the coach. She told me she is "logging out of this conversation" and "have a good day." This happened on Friday. That same day I spoke with the coach for around an hour and he said he was understanding and it was up to me what I did. I haven't been to practice since because of my anxiety about this whole situation. Yesterday was Monday I tried to show up but was having a hard day so I drove off. I wanted to show up today but the coach sent a message to the groupchat saying basically from a video he found on facebook that he only has respect for people who show up for him and if people don't show respect to him then he loses respect for them. I could be taking things personally but I find it too coincidental that he would send a message like that, so I felt like he was offhandedly talking about me. I want to go back to practice to finish the season strong but it makes me physically anxious to be around them. What should I do?

Advice Wanted I love engineering but I hate my Gen ed classes
I'm a first-year Computer Engineering major, and lately I've been feeling completely overwhelmed. I took Calculus I and II in high school, so I expected Calculus III to be challenging, but I didn't think I would struggle this much. Between the workload of my classes and the significant time commitment required by Air Force ROTC, it feels like I barely have enough time to keep up with everything. Most days, I'm constantly busy, jumping from classes to studying to ROTC responsibilities, and it feels like there's never enough time to catch up.
My biggest concern right now is Calculus III. I've been having a hard time understanding the material, and I'm worried that I won't be able to raise my grade enough before the end of the semester. Part of the difficulty is that my professor has a very strong accent, which can make lectures difficult for me to follow at times. On top of that, the class often focuses on procedures and formulas without spending much time explaining the reasoning behind them. I frequently find myself knowing what steps to perform but not understanding why those steps work or what the concepts mean intuitively. Because of that, it's been much harder for me to build a strong foundation and keep up as the course moves forward.
Right now, I feel like I'm constantly trying to stay afloat. I'm putting in effort, but balancing a demanding engineering curriculum with ROTC has been more difficult than I anticipated. The combination of a heavy workload, limited free time, and struggles in Calculus III has left me feeling stressed and unsure about whether I can improve my grade before the semester ends.

Advice Wanted Counselor screwed me over - what do i do
Hello, as the title says, i am a freshman at a community college majoring in engineering science, wanting to transfer to a 4-year uni after I get my associate’s. When i applied in may of this year, i was told i didnt need a placement exam for any of my classes. I originally couldnt even meet with a counselor for my classes because the one they gave me was on maternity leave. After emailing 4 different people i finally got a new counselor and joined a zoom call with her to pick my classes. What i didnt realize was the math class she gave me was intermediate algebra. For engineering, you are expected to start in calculus 1, but i expected to start in pre-calc as i took algebra 1, 2, 3 and geometry in highschool and i passed them all. My friend who took the same exact classes as me and went to the same highschool as me went to njit and started with pre-calc and chemistry. I am taking int alg and 3 gen eds. I am devastated. For me to take calc 1, i now have to finish the class im in, take a semester of college algebra, then take pre calc, THEN take calc 1, which is where most students START.
I seriously dont know what to do, any advice at all helps.

No advice wanted (Vent) Feeling overwhelmed with my major (Biochem)
Hi, I’m a junior F19 in a biochemistry major, I feel like there is so much I’m doing at all times. My GPA is a 3.65 right now and im worried about my grades because I started organic chemistry and it is SO HARD. I have a 69.71% in the class right now after the first exam. I am so scared of how it will affect my GPA, since I’m in the honors program at my school. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to needing to retake the class. It sucks because I’m doing well in all of my other classes (all As) and it’s kind of discouraging. I started going to supplemental instruction hours but I’m just so nervous about the next exam. I feel like I’m a failure. I had to enlist into the Air Force just to afford going to school after my parents told me I needed to pay for all my own bills and expenses as well as all of my tuition out of pocket because they saw me as a financial burden after I turned 18. I worked all summer and I’m working now, and I’m doing an aerospace studies minor on top of it. Idk I just kind of feel like I’m drowning, does anyone else relate? Does it get better?

No advice wanted (Vent) Going to college was not what I thought.
I started college back in August and it's honestly been such a draining, tiring experience. Y'know all my life I thought college would be this wonderful experience and as soon as I went there all my problems would go away and id suddenly become this person that I honestly never was. I don't need to be told just how naive I was.
I think the biggest thing in struggling with at college is talking to people and fitting in because frankly I never feel like I'm in the right place, I do have friends but sometimes talking to them feels draining and I can't even reset at my room because our dorms are cooked and make use share a room with another guy so there's never any rpivacy. There's other issues like an extremely annoying roomate, how I've changed nothing about me and a spiralling self image.
I also have trouble speaking girls, it's not like I can't talk to them, I have a couple "girl" friends but I'm just intensely scared of talking to them and fucking it up. When I see other people with relationships and everything I just feel jealous.
I'm really only making this post to vent out my feelings and I hope that some people feeling the same way can relate to this, ik it's a depressing post but I just really wanted to let off steam about these feelings because I really can't talk about these problems to other people. I have been trying to be more confident and I have been getting better at talking to people and women but the problems don't go away like that and for as long as I'm like this i just wanna vent my feelings and maybe even talk to some other people feeling simmilarly.

Advice Wanted Advice for someone who is 'different' and is going to Uni who might deal with toxic people. (Some vent here)
I can be awkward and from personal experience people might find me to have weird traits.
.
So I know for sure some people will be snarky and stay away from me.
.
Now fyi, I have not been diagnosed with any neurodivergent disorders, But I'm just aware that I'm different.
.
I'm 17F going to China soon. I can be a very expensive person to someone close, but I do have some moments where I'm just chill. And I CAN MANAGE and chill out in important moments. I can be bubbly, but that doesn't mean I'm never serious.
.
Some people don't like my traits, one example being me jumping a little and pouting as a silly reaction just this morning, then a group of guys from behind started to mock me about it thinking I didn't notice (whats with people mocking right behind us thinking we wouldn't notice that's honestly so stupid and shameless lmfao)
I don't blame them and I understand that they found it cringe, it just that they aren't in the conversation, I did it as a silly reaction, and these are the same people that scream in class so loudly during recess over a game and are misogynistic asf.
.
Girls treat me the same too, most of them put double standards on me. Someone even Lied about their mistake and pinned it on me (lol I still kept their literal chat telling a friend of mines to lie and take her side)
My classmates are low key exclusive and toxic.
.
But those are the kind of people I'm talking about here. Hypocritic, shameless, snarky and self centered (or too comfortable in their bubble) people.
.
Don't get me started on peer pressure. There might be respectful people adopting the same bad habits because they are close to them and is in their circle. It will be too late for me to find them. They probably won't choose this side either.
.
Now What if these are the people that will be my dorm mates?
I can try to fake my personality and act differently but unless it is for the better good (in terms of being rude and disturbing or not) it's going to drown me.
.
if I stay true to myself, you can imagine the feeling of being treated like an insect that people don't even want to get close to you, even putting a target at you and blaming everything at you simply because 3 of them agreed they don't like me.
.
I can try to change dorms, but I might deal with the same people in other dorms. And, chances are they can't even move me.
.
Further more, later my boyfriend will come, and he is unattractive let me tell you. I don't like people that will ask things like why I choose such an ugly partner and 'weird' partner (and I don't think it's their business anyway) then tell me to break up or pick others. Or, simply label me from that alone (which I know they will).
.
I know how rude and careless people can be because they think it's cool. And there will only be more because people are afraid to be treated like I do and it's better to join the other side. And with people like this, they can easily put dirt on my name quickly and it's hard to change that.
.
Despite me knowing all of this, I still want to keep my uni life as peaceful as possible. I don't like drama, but at the same time I can't really make the right choices socially. I want to make friends, but at the same time I'm not in the mood to because of these issues.
.
Any suggestions on what I can do later in college?

No advice wanted (Vent) I’m so f*cking stupid
I try so hard to focus on my school work; I’m taking OFFAD 105, PSYCH 100 and BUSS 100. I already failed these class’s spring quarter and am currently taking them again. I haven’t done ANY work and it’s already half way through the school year. I quit my job because I wanted to put all my effort into school (I’m 19 btw) and I obviously live with my parents. I had a really bad falling out with all of my friends, so I’m always alone at home and I’ve started gaining sooo much weight cause all I do is eat at home to pass the time (117 lbs —> 136lbs). Thankfully I have the support from my family (I always go back to reading my manhuas, manhwas, mangas and playing Minecraft… ugh I’m such a chud).

Advice Wanted The only person causing myself to fall behind is myself. How do I fix it?
I go to McGill University, a place that operates with very little support from management. And yet, for the first month of my freshman year, I felt like I was going to thrive here. I was on top of all my reading (even ahead at some points!) and I felt healthy and happy.
Then fall came about, and I feel like I've now completely lost my way. My room is a mess, I don't hang out with anyone anymore, and I barely take care of myself. I look like a mess. I've been so stressed that all I can do now is eat my pain away, and I think I've gained five pounds in a week. I have very little sleep every night and I never wake up well-rested anymore. The sky is so overcast that it just makes my mood worse. I have a gym membership but I don't go now because I know I've lost progress
I think this mental state has affected my academic performance. I'm now behind in all my classes, have minimal understanding of the content, operate with brain fog almost 24/7, and have lost all my time management skills.
I feel like I'm in purgatory and I don't know how to get out of it. It's also not fun when every one of my neighbors somehow has their act together, able to ace their midterms and stay healthy while also going out and having fun every day. I know if I don't get my shit together now, I'll be in for a horrible winter experience. This is probably a post you guys get every other day but I need to know. I need to know how I can stop overeating and lock back in on my physical, mental, and social health.

Advice Wanted How would you deal with rumours and gossip about you?
There is this girl that seemingly had a crush on me and tried to engage with me often but i was always a bit distant with her and she took it as rejection i guess. Im rarely at college and dont know many people and recently i wasnt there for a period of about 3 months in which she told everyone in class im inexperienced with women and a virgin, i know this from a friend. No one outright harasses me over it but people laugh sometimes when they see me now

No advice wanted (Vent) College Profs think I'm stupid
so i have ADHD. yk, the stupid drooling ipad kid disorder in university staff's eyes. i've flunked classes (and passed them on later attempts), withdrawn often, missed assignments, and even missed exams by accident. yet i've never felt any sort of compassion from anyone outside the office of accessibility. instead, they talk to me like i'm stupid.
because i'm doing a biochemistry degree, my advisor keeps reminding me it's a difficult degree and that i should do a BA instead. i fucking hate my advisor. that's all he ever says whenever i'm forced to meet with him. he has never once acknowledged my progress when i actually accomplish something. yes, i've failed classes, but i've gone back and PASSED THEM.
mind you, we have to work way harder than someone without ADHD. if i miss an assignment and ask a professor about my options, they just double down on blaming me for missing it. like yes, i already fucking know it's my fault. you don't have to keep saying it. i'm literally just asking if there's anything i can do about it. you can fucking say no and move on.
i feel like every staff member i talk to thinks i'm some irresponsible fucking idiot who needs to be realistic and go get a degree in coloring shapes.
everybody keeps insinuating that i can't do these classes, that i can't do this degree, and that i should do something else. i did not work my fucking ass off to pass organic chemistry, paying thousands to go to college, just to be told for the 50th time that maybe i should do graphic design. i mentioned that i like drawing as a hobby, and it immediately got followed up with "maybe you're not as interested in biology as you think" because i struggle with task initiation.
there is no way you're trying to tell me what i do or don't like. you literally just met me today. talking to these people feels like getting ragebaited.
EDIT: i feel the need to clarify that when i fail a class its not because i was slacking off. i take much longer to absorb information, so im consistently chapters behind from my peers. i withdraw from a class when i know i wont be able to pass. my advisor repeats his suggestion of doing a different degree in arts every time I see him, including whenever i have a good semester where i passed everything.

No advice wanted (Vent) Don’t know how I feel about this and want to know what I shd do?
So posting this here just to vent because ik if I’m honest to anyone Ik irl imma get slimed. But I’m 21F senior in college and come from a south Asian American family. And Normally I would go home for fall brea, thanksgiving break, winter break, spring break, and summer break. But this year for fall break my friends were planning stuff.
So I ended up staying back and it was the best decision I could’ve made since I didn’t feel like going home. My mom kept being like you didn’t come home when are u coming home. And I was like calm down I’mma see you for thanksgiving. Granted we’re not going home, but doing a small trip with family like aunts, uncles, cousins and stuff.
This weekend happened to be my bday and I had plans already. Saturday was my party, Friday I had plans with friends from school I’m still friends with. And then one other friend I have here was like hey I have a bday surprise for you. And Imma “kidnap” you for it. Aka pick me up from campus and take me somewhere. And I had plans to do that Friday.
Then out of no where my parents decicd show up. And they are staying the whole week like they got in Monday evening and are leaving Saturday before my party. And I’m like bro my whole week is ruined now. It’s not like I have a bad relationship with my parents are anything it’s just that I have a neutral relationship. Don’t rlly miss them. And are ok with seeing them once or twice a year.
Granted they have plans while they are here but it’s like bruh. Everyone knew like my 3 closest friends, my two aunts and uncles, and my grandma. And now that my mom is here she was like are u gonna cancel your classes now that we are here? Which I said no. She was like can I come to your classes? I said no I’m in upper division classes which are small and professor will know.
Plus it’s just fucking weird. And now she wants me to cancel my plans on Friday Bcz she wants to do dinner with me and my friends. And im not gonna allow that to happen. Good thing is I have a pretty busy semester with classes, work, and a research project I’m doing. So I will be busy most of the time which is good.
My aunt in the family gc being like oh you must be so happy and I’m not actuall. Buf ik if I say that there that I’m not imma get slimed so saying it here. It’s mot the worst thing that could’ve happened to me. But it’s very annoying and an inconvenience. Anyways my rant is over so ya.

No advice wanted (Vent) A lot of GenEds are some BS
I'm required to take this service learning class. Which means I'm basically PAYING to take a public highschool ass course and paying to do community service or else I cant graduate.
The content of the class is what pmo because I do like doing CS and think its valuable. But it is all discussion posts about some really surface level politics and the questions are really direct so everybody just answers the exact same (aka agreeing with the question without thinking about it.)
Our discussion post this week is about MLK. What does MLK mean when he talks about community..What does community do for civil rights..What does MLK's speech mean and how does it connect to civil rights..
I think in my senior year of highschool I wrote a 12 page analytical essay on Malcolm X and MLK and their different political methods. Its like a slap to the face. I was in a private academy during that year and that year only thinking that college would be exactly as challenging and that I was being benefitted early. Even during public school I LEARNED ABOUT THIS ALREADY and so did everybody if they paid attention. I think being in all of these useless classes is actually making me stupider.
I cant will myself to write more than two pages now because nobody is challenging me and surface level shit is rewarded no matter what. I learned a lot better in that academy compared to my two years so far at uni and that was NOT as much of a financial burden as college. College is a scam.

Advice Wanted How do I fix this?
I’m a first year in college, and I don’t think I’m doing so well. My first semester GPA will probably be a 3.3-3.5 (Not hot at all, an A, A- or A, A- or A, and between C- to B-). I bombed my first college exam with a 58% (my welcome to college moment if you will). I’ve decided to change my major. I sleep super late every day, most of the time procrastinating then trying to do the work and I end up doomscrolling every night. (2-3 AM, sometimes later). I drink and party every Friday and Saturday night. I take long naps throughout the day. I seldomly see my 2 closest friends I’ve made in college because of my horrible sleep schedule. I’ve joined 2 clubs but never gone to any meetings. I need to fix this around and carry it over into the next semester. I know many people start college off on the wrong foot and end up fine, but I want to correct it now before it becomes too late. A 3.4 isn’t terrible, but for top finance jobs that’s not good, and I go to a good enough college where I can get into those NYC finance jobs, I just don’t want my gpa and habits to hold me back. My transition from HS to college could not have gone any worse, how do I fix this?

Advice Wanted I'm 19 and I can't take this shit anymore.
I'm 19 and currently pursuing btech in entc and I'm so fucking tired. It is not just the course or the pressure it is everything. The 75 percent attendance, the misogynistic faculty, the chapri ass students everything is shit and I know for a reaosn that I can't get out of here because my parents would never letme. Only if I was brave enough to end all of this everything but I have got no guts to do so but I'm so fucking tired man like alll the time. I used to love drawing , I used to love singing I used to love dancing now , now all I do is feel tired to even do basic tasks and then procrastinate and fuck everything up. I'm tired of feeling like a fuck up and made feel like one again and again and again over multiple period of time. I have a older sibling who is no help at all everytime I go to vent the reply is just "aghh this is nothing I've faced this and blha blha bullshit" My parents are teachers so I cannot expect anything from them, I do have a partner who I love very dearly but sometimes it is just painful to watch someone stand by you when you don't even want to stand by yourself. So I tend to push my partner away which hurts even more. Idk bro idkk what the fuck should I do at this point. And it would have been okay if engineering was my only problem but life outside it is pretty fucked up to, I'm tired of cleaning my roomates messes all the time and I have to because apparently not everyone is taught basic manners and ethicates. Everyone here is bullshit and ik for a fact that there is gonna be no result, no job , no future. Because apparently a single sheet of paper does decide my future. I haven't slept in the last 42 fucking hours and then I'm told I'm not even enough so what the fuck was I doing ???????!!¡!!!!!!??????? All this is complete rant because i got noone and therapy is costly. I fucking wanna go home and just leave all this behind and do nothing and I just want to breathe. I JUST WANT TO FUCKING LIVE.

Advice Wanted I missed my midterm that the professor moved online last minute
I am in my final semester of college, and in this particular class, I have aced every single quiz and unit exam. On the three unit exams worth 45% of our grade, I’ve got 100% on every one because of how much I love the material. Lectures are in person, but exam and quizzes are done from home on a proctored website besides what was supposed to be the midterm and final in person.
We were supposed to be taking the midterm tomorrow in person, per the syllabus and literally everything he has said thus far in class. I’m not sure if he had a change of heart, but he moved the midterm online without any of our knowledge, and while others were lucky enough to have received the notification that the exam had been moved online, I did not. I checked both my phone and laptop after the fact and never got the little notification from the proctored site that it had been moved. He also didn’t send an email or anything, being reliant on the fact that we’d just see the message.
I’m obviously freaking out. If I send an email, would he possibly extend the date for me or is it a lost cause at this point 24 hours after the fact? I didn’t check that proctored site because I was under the impression that it would be in person tomorrow like he said, which means now I’ve missed the deadline. I can show that I never got the notification if needed as well. It’s worth 15% of our grade and while my family has tried to reassure me that if I ace everything else like I have then it won’t matter in the end, it still really does matter to me.
