Just some thoughts

I’m outside walking around listening to music enjoying the last bit of this 70° weather we’re having in NYC. I recently didn’t have my freedom, I spent some time locked up and then in rehab and I’m really thinking. I’m grateful for my freedom. The ability to just walk around and go where I want. It was only 5 months I was away from society but being told what to wear, where to be, when to eat, what to do just not having any freedom truly takes it out of you. Now I’m finding a newfound appreciation for the small things. Kids playing in the playgrounds bring me joy and memories of my childhood. The birds chirping reminding me nature is still thriving. The last little bit of sunshine. I’m just grateful for still being here and still being alive. Im fortunate I never overdosed. Life’s beautiful and I’m so glad I’m still alive. Just a ramble but I’m for the first time in a long time genuinely enjoying life.

Grateful for my past self and the foundations they laid. And also Oreos.

My physical and mental energy is not great right now. But I'm in my space and I have my routines and my strategies. Things past me set in place are things I can hold onto now for a little bit of stability while I wait things out. My current version of not great is actually pretty damn good compared to other times. And that's all down to past me laying that groundwork. Yay past me.

I also tried a new flavour Oreo- brown sugar pancake. They're good. One of those ones where the biscuit part is different to the standard so a bit more interesting. So yay for Oreos too I guess.

Grateful for it all

I am grateful for my creativity. Whever I am feeling down, stuck, lost, I usually will junk journal, and make some random art collages to feel better. I am grateful I have that outlet.

I am grateful for my job, loving it, and allowing me to be creative in my job. I am grateful that it pays well and that I can seriously consider buying a condo for myself in the next 4 months.

I am grateful for how life seems to be looking up, and how I really feel like I am making progress towards my life goals.

Grateful for this new lease on life!

Im in the journey of recovery, I'm 186 days clean! Im grateful for the better sleep im getting, the connections I’m making with my family, the new start on life I'm getting. I have used in some form for over a decade and I'm finally getting to meet the REAL adult me. Im becoming a better person. Im getting back to the things I used to do before the substances took over. Im planning o going on a mission trip sometime next summer, I've reached out to the local animal shelter to try to volunteer time. Im currently helping out at the school my dad teaches at and I'm grateful for the opportunity I've gotten there. Im seeing myself come back out of my shell and I am excited to see where I'm headed and who I'm becoming. Have a great week if you read this all!!

Feeling Myself

Turned it all around this weekend, and stopped drinking, eating crap and being depressed. Instead I ate well, socialised, cleaned, exercised, and I’m grateful that on this Sunday night I am feeling myself again for the first time in months.

Another day!

I’m thankful for another beautiful fall day, a morning conference where I got to see people I usually only see once a year, and the fall colors on my hour long drive!

I'm grateful for my mom. She was an amazing mother. I could have lived a thousand lives and none would be worth living if she wasn't my mom.

She was the maroon to my ocean. She added so much depth, wisdom, and love to my life that her absence feels as though the core of this earth is no longer there.

I can't believe that this pain will linger in my heart for the rest of my life.

But I know that the pain that I feel is the fluid displacement of her love. The water that pours out of my eyes is the core that is placed inside my heart, with a finger striked up in the air, evicting the water from my soul.

The pain that I feel is a different face of the same coin as the love that she has given me. To feel this pain is only possible because of her love.

The same way I'm put at a trance when starring at the ocean, I now surrender my heart to starring at this canyon.

I'm so grateful for you, a-mah. Thank you for giving me the earth.

For another day. For a nap. It’s so hard to keep going in this long career transition/hunt. Feeling discouraged but trying to find joy in small things. For my kids happiness at their new sport.

Grateful for the smell and feel of the air in the light rain today.

And you know the rain makes green stuff seem greener, which looked so great with the bits of autumn color that are finally appearing where I live.

Fall harvest!

Happy to harvest the last bit of stuff from our garden before we get frost this weekend…which I’m not ready for. Solid load of late season watermelon and some green tomato’s most likely bound for the freezer.

Fall weather!

It was beautiful getting out for golf and 80s on Monday, but this cool snap with storms, that’s always appreciated plus the good nights sleep that goes with it! Also, feel like my head has been getting more clear and feeling lighter these days. May be due to my gratitude practices 😂🤷‍♂️

I’m grateful for knowledge

We don’t know how much knowledge we have until we see people doing the things we thought was general knowledge out of ignorance. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learnt and super grateful for the vessels that taught me directly and indirectly they’ve shaped me into who I am today.

three days ago i got into my first car accident (i completely own it was my fault), though it was nothing serious and no harm was done to anyone, the persons car did get damaged pretty bad. today he just got back to me with the quote of cost, it’s £457, he’s paying it for me. i don’t know why, i tried to talk him out of it and said i’ll pay the for the damages i caused. but he was persistent, very thankful for how stress free he made a bad situation i cause.

I'm grateful for nature. It's abundant, the sky, stars, flowers, trees, leaves, animals! It's massive, endless, beautiful and so calming. It makes me hopeful and gives me joy. 🌻🍃

Grateful I came across this community

I’m still very much new to this platform and some how it keeps pushing this subreddit my way, as a grateful person I see more reason to be grateful here. I hope I’ll also have a positive effect here.

I am grateful for today and hanging out with friends

I had social anxiety all of a sudden at 50. It was like one day I was just ordinary me and the next day every symptom known to the "change of life" a woman goes thru happened. It has been a tough road and meeting with friends again was a major goal. I felt their love and laughter...and support that I dont know why I hadn't had this sooner. I am a long ways of getting back to normal but today I felt beyond happy♥️
