Discussion Gulistan shoes
Recently, I’ve seen cheap shoes being sold on the footpaths of Gulistan. Are they durable? If you’ve ever used them, please share your experience.

Heard a ridiculously loud bang a little while ago, sounded like a transformer blast. The electricity went out immediately afterward and came back after around 2–3 minutes.
Went to my balcony and saw a huge crowd looking up. A few minutes later, people carried an injured guy and put him in a CNG to take him somewhere.
There’s an under-construction building nearby, so I’m not sure if it was related. I genuinely have no idea what happened.
Hope the guy is okay. If anyone around F Block, near Road 19, knows what happened, let me know.

Hi, I'm M24. I'm currently studying and working as well.
Because of my job, I've lost touch with friends and other people. Many of them have also moved to new places. That's why I'm now looking for some friends or a partner to chill with. It can be someone from anywhere, whether it's Dhaka, Rajshahi, or somewhere else, or even online.
I'm a cool, open-minded, and non-judgmental guy. I love music, series, PC games, cricket, football, badminton, etc.
I'm looking for connections where there's no judgment, restrictions, or hesitation.
If you feel like you can vibe with me, please feel free to DM or comment. If you wanna connect on Instagram (@Mrr_unknoownn), feel free to knock me there.

As a university student in Dhaka, it feels like tutoring is the only part-time job option available. But I'm a creative person, and I'd love to find a way to earn money through something I'm actually passionate about.
I'm into both traditional and digital art, and I also have an interest in philosophy. I'd love to explore creative work, whether it's illustration, design, art commissions, or something else I might not even know exists.
The problem is that I genuinely don't know where to start, where to look for opportunities, or whether there are even decent opportunities for students like me in Dhaka. With AI becoming so prevalent, I also wonder whether pursuing art and creative work is even appreciated here
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who's currently working in a creative field in Dhaka, especially students or people who started out while studying. It will be really helpful to me so I can support my own expenses and support my family a little.
Where do you find these jobs? How did you get started? What skills or portfolios do employers look for? And is it possible to make some money from art or other creative work without having a full-time job?
I just want to explore my interests, gain experience, and earn some money while studying.
I'd genuinely appreciate any guidance, personal experiences, or leads. Thank you.

Hello, my father is from Bangladesh and I decided to visit. When I went with my father and I noticed how many Bangladeshis just wanna be around me because I’m American not because I’m a person. Why is that?

People who think they don’t smell and are always fresh, or have the slightest baby-like scent, are often the ones who absolutely fill the air with their odour!
I’m so tired of hearing this sassy statement from guys and girls about how fresh they always are. They brag about how they don’t need deodorant and have never used it. Even if they put on perfume, it’s over their clothes, not even on their skin. Little do they know, they smell like dead corpses! And their overconfidence doesn’t shield them from trapping odour right in their armpit area!
This is literally the stupidest logic I’ve ever heard.. “I don’t smell!” Of course you smell, you 🐖! How delusional does someone have to be to be this disgustingly unaware of their own body odour?! You might enjoy your own sweaty smell, but others are suffocating because of it. And because of your fragile ego, they can’t even bring it up!
They willingly refuse to use deodorant directly on their underarm skin. Then the sweat forms, the odour develops, and walking beside them feels suffocating.
Washing your body alone can’t solve this problem. Unless you’re a toddler or an old, wrinkly person, as soon as you turn off the shower faucet, you start to smell. Idk who gave them the idea that they’re angels sent from above and don’t need deodorant. Maybe the people around them are too shy and polite to point it out, since it’s such a sensitive topic. If it were a guy, I believe other guys would be friendly enough to tell him at some point, but how do you tell that to a girl?!
The girl at my office works part-time and gets here after university. My goodness, there hasn’t been a single day when I haven’t been able to tell she has arrived without even seeing her! Not to mention, she’s a student at one of the top 3 private universities. And I thought private university students were smart. 😓
And she says she goes to the gym after office… ALLAH!! 😫😫😵
I humbly urge anyone who thinks they’re above flaws and don’t need deodorant to PLEASE, PLEASE, for God’s sake, just put some on your underarms, directly on your skin (as directed), for the greater good of humanity! 🙏🏻

Many iPhoneDuo owners have reportedly experienced screen damage due to the device’s fragile hinge. Many users have even reported their devices becoming unusable within just a day of use.
Apple is reportedly replacing damaged devices purchased from official Apple Stores and authorized Apple distributors and resellers.
However, here in Dhaka, many people purchase their iPhoneDuo from regular mobile phone shops that are not officially authorized by Apple. These shops may not offer any official warranty or replacement support for such issues, especially when the devices are sourced through unofficial channels.
And here’s the real concern: the iPhoneDuo is already an expensive device. In Dhaka, it could cost you approximately BDT 2.5–2.75 lakh, depending on the seller.
Imagine spending that much money on a premium device only to face a hinge-related screen issue within a day—and then discovering that you may not have access to official warranty or replacement support.
Before spending your hard-earned money, think twice.

Hey everyone!
We've recently built an app called SellKoro that helps small shop owners manage their sales, inventory, customer dues, and other daily business activities directly from their phones.
We're now looking for a few people, preferably university students, who can help us reach local shops like clothing stores, shoe shops, cosmetics stores, etc.
The work is pretty simple. If you're someone who goes out often, knows local markets, and is comfortable talking to shop owners, you can introduce our app to them.
There's no fixed schedule or daily target. You can work whenever you're free, and we'll pay commission for every successful sale.
No previous experience needed. We'll guide you through everything.
If anyone's interested, just DM me. Happy to share more details!

I’ve been thinking about something lately. Say you have your own house in a district town, so you don’t have to worry about rent or the ridiculous living expenses of Dhaka. You also want to start a business and have a limited amount of capital. Would you choose Dhaka for its larger market, better networking and opportunities, or your hometown, where expenses are significantly lower and you can afford to take more calculated risks? I’m personally leaning towards moving back to my hometown and investing what I save into building something sustainable. The only thing holding me back is the fear that I might be limiting my opportunities by leaving Dhaka. Would love to hear from people who have actually built businesses outside Dhaka.

Hi, i’m new in Dhaka and I want to join a football club. Since all my friends were from Chittagong, i haven’t been able to join any club. I’m currently studying for my bachelors degree at NSU, and I also live nearby. And sometimes I have some free time and I want to play football in the turf. I’m a diehard football fan and it’s been a long time since I’ve last played football.
I like playing in the midfielder role where I can operate the whole team.
So if there’s any team interested, in NSU,Bashundhara area, kindly let me know.

My boyfriend's (smoker) birthday is coming up, and I (non-smoker) want to give him 1 to 3 packs of cigarettes leave my lipstick kiss marks on the butts/filters of each stick, and put them back in the pack.
The catch is I don’t smoke at all, and I know absolutely nothing about cigarettes! I’ve heard there are a lot of fakes circulating in the market rn that "don't hit the same." Since I'm completely inexperienced, I’m worried about getting scammed with counterfeit packs at random shops.
Price is not an issue at all since this is a one time special gift. I just want to make sure I get him the absolute best ones and 100% authentic stuff. Where (preferably online) can I get him authentic ones? Which brand?

Where do you guys buy Bengali classics online in Dhaka? Are there any reliable fb pages that sell both fiction and non-fiction?
