Tried carving the straw hat pirate flag this year. Definitely not picture perfect but, I had fun 😁

Our daughter loves Monsters Inc so I sourced outfits for us for Halloween all from different places. Daughter’s Sully exceeded expectations, my Boo set met expectations, and we waited with bated breath for my husband’s Mike onesie.
Welp a onesie turned up today. Judging by the face we think we have a frog onesie!

I got a big laugh from reading "intricate details" and then swiping over to reveal the product. I expected it to be bad, in which case it Exceeded Expectations, but I'm still marking it as failed

i asked my boyfriends mom to make me a vintage clown cake for my birthday and it came out soooo cute!

Thought I'd give myself a treat today, instead I got tricked.

I was hoping for a rainbow cookie. But there's no rainbow, just cookie.

You would think the grains would be the less expensive filler, but they only added about a tablespoon.

No I like eating a solid block of cinnamon sugar for breakfast as much as the next person, probably more, but this was just too much. Way too much.

Our local grocery store bakery. They totally exceeded my expectations and did a fantastic job last year on a Cookie Monster cookie cake for her. Alas, this year didn’t quite hit the mark.

EDIT: Just to clarify, the actual cake we received was by no means ugly or poorly done, it just didn’t meet the expectations (based on the photo or what they said would be achievable on the phone call when I ordered it). More a lesson learned for me!

Edit 2: for clarification, the “expectation” photo was a cake advertised on their own bakery website for order and is also featured in-store in the catalogue at the counter. It wasn’t a random AI photo from online 😅 and the white squiggles above the cake are because it was a 2 tier cake, but we were only serving 8-10 people so I asked them to only make the bottom portion.

Inspiration versus what I managed. I couldn’t find any thin chocolate sticks for the whiskers so I had to make do with cut down strawberry chewy things … and now they look like prawns … 😆

My friends ordered a cake for my birthday, and the baker sent this, i had a good laugh!

This is a reminder to do a Street View search on a Deliveroo restaurant before falling ordering. The shop exterior is far more revealing than the burger pic.

The recipe said “pull the batter up with a toothpick” for the ears which was impossible. And piping the chocolate onto the cream cheese frosting eyes didn’t work at all because the cream cheese was so sticky.
