Discussion perspective of a beginner family guy
Before, I was a die hard fan of south park up until season 25/26, so I'm newish to family guy. I do not watch the show chronologically. For a while I was looking up the most popular episodes on google and they were enjoyable, but I heavily disagree that the 4th season was the golden era, nah..
like how come the brian and stewie episode isn't considered one of the best?? They literally cut down on all music, all other characters and have us entertained and shocked by a baby and a dog communicating.
For me the earlier first seasons have a more guh-guh-gah-gah fart jokes vibe and are basically a prediction of gen alpha humor. It's not my personal taste.
The best seasons in my opinion are 8-11, because they kept it lighthearted yet also use more coherent storytelling and adulty satire that's not as overstimulating. I LOVE that despite the expectations, they had the guts to create darker episodes on more serious topics like the screams of silence episode + brian and stewie episode, which make you uncomfortable by not concealing the satired issues with out of topic gags. I don't mean to say that I only want to watch dark episodes, but these seasons really uplifted the quality in story writing and character dev for me.
What episodes are underrated and deserve more recognition in your opinion and why?
