Travel Surf Recommendations
Hey folks. I'm a young fella from British Columbia, Canada and hoping to solo-visit Fiji for end of october to early-mid-november. Would very much appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction or provide recommendations for where the best place to stay and surf for top-top-top quality waves. I just graduated, on a budget, and getting a bit confused on where I should set up base for the best waves and budget. If you have any insight or recommendations for a spot please give me a shout! Would be very much appreciated!

Travel Foreigners looking for geeky communities in Fiji
Hello wonderful people!
We're a group of young people from an NGO in Denmark who are hoping to find communities in Fiji for people with an interest in cosplay, dungeon & dragons, anime, fan art, larping, Warhammer, boardgames or similar "geeky" interests.
Do you know of any such groups or clubs who meet up regularly, and perhaps host some local events? It doesn't have to be big or particularly established. We'd just love to hear about what exists in Fiji for our fellow geeks, and hopefully get in contact with some. We want to meet up and make some events and activities together next year to bring people with shared interests from opposite sides of the globe together.
Any help would be much appreciated, big and small ✨

Travel solo traveller fiji
Hi all! I have booked a trip to Fiji over New Years but long story short I have had some very frustrating issues come up and two passengers have cancelled on me. Basically I am out of pocket almost $3k and while I have considered just cancelling the booking I am also thinking I may just go by myself?
The booking is for the Pearl Resort so wondering what sort of activities or things to do around there or at the resort and if it is safe for a young female to go alone? And also if there is any celebration happening for New Years?
Thankyou!!

Travel Fiji with kids
Would you feel comfortable leaving your 4-year-old girls with a resort nanny in Fiji, including allowing them to take the kids back to the room and put them to bed? If not, why?

Travel Entering Fiji during a layover at NAN
I've seen some conflicting information online about whether this is possible. I have a 5 hour layover at NAN in a few months in the evening (arrive 5pm, depart 10pm) but I've read in some places if you have a short layover immigration may not allow you entry while you transit.
If it helps, I'm travelling on an NZ passport so a visa shouldn't be a problem.
Is it worth risking or should I just stay airside?

Travel Tuvalu - Same day RT from Nadi?
I’m looking to add a side quest next year on top of my Fiji trip. I’ve been to 82 countries and adding Tuvalu would be a pretty cool conquest. Does Fiji Airways run same day RT flights? Any private operators?

Travel Fiji Air Carry On
Traveling on Fiji Air soon and read they enforce the 15 pound carry on rule and actually weigh carry on bags. Is this true or myth. I tend to have my carry on much heavier then that.

Travel Entering Fiji - Australian passport less than 6 months
I’m traveling to Fiji. My passport will have MORE than 6 months validity on arrival, however LESS than 6 months validity on departure back to Australia (short by 6 days).
Australian passport and resident.
Has anyone had experience with this? And what was the outcome?

Travel Split stay or one resort?
Hey everyone,
I'm heading to Fiji soon, arriving at 7pm and departing a week later at 1pm, so I've got 6 full days to play with. Trying to decide whether to stay in one place or split the time between two.
Options I'm considering: Sheraton Tokoriki (outer island) vs. Marriott Momi Bay or InterContinental Fiji (mainland).
Would you stick to one resort the whole time, or split it? say 3 nights at Sheraton Tokoriki + 3 nights at Momi Bay? Curious how much the boat transfer/logistics eat into the days if I split. Are the mainland options good enough?
Thanks!

Travel 24 Hour / Late Night Grocery Shops in Nadi
Are there any grocery stores (for essentials like water) which are open late in the centre of Nadi or close by? Had a look on maps and didnt see anything conclusive.

Travel Hi! I have a 28hr layover in Nadi and I’m wondering what I should do to make the most of it!
So I have a 28hr layover in about a week and want to make the most of my time there. Are there any food spots you would recommend? I like having authentic experiences wherever I go but might also want to spend some time swimming or hanging out on the beach. Additionally, I might like to pick up some cool keepsakes to give to my family when I get home.
Any recommendations are much appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I’m not trying to spend too much but I might spend a bit more money on something special :)

Travel Best way to bring liquor/wine to Fiji?
Coming from US for a few weeks and heard options there are expensive and limited. Luggage room permitting, is it best to buy in US before the airport and put in checked bag, or buy from duty free shop at US airport?
Would think if you have room it’s better to buy before and put securely in checked bag vs having to carry around a bunch of bottles on multiple flights.
Travel Travel and Medication
We are flying into Nadi on Monday. I take daily medication and use pill organizers. Do I really need to bring all the bottles? I have travelled extensively and always check before I go. I really can't find any good answers so I figured I would ask here. I really dont feel like bringing 9 bottles of pills for 9 days.

Travel Living in Suva
Hello, I may consider moving to Suva for a year.
What are the usual costs for groceries, living and general fun or miscellaneous stuff?
Also, I will be flying in from Frankfurt to Nadi, from Nadi Airport, is there any cheap reliable bus service that goes from Nadi to Suva?
Thank you very much.

Travel Highly Recommend HEART OF THE INDIGENOUS - FIJI TOURS
Bula From one redditor to another !
If anyone is traveling to Fiji and is looking for some excursions or even just help getting around the island.
I can’t recommend these guys enough!! Ask for Josh! Truly one of the most genuine and friendly people I have ever met traveling. He makes sure that you are not on a tourist excursion but you are experiencing what the locals have to offer.
My wife and I spent the entire day with Josh and his boat captain Brandon. They gave us a day that we will never forgot, this is his family business and truly if anyone is looking for an amazing guide in Fiji, please think of Josh!!
He took us island hopping, snorkeling in the turtle sanctuary, sunflower reef, fishing and even to a beautiful sand bar.
He absolutely loves American culture, specifically rap music!! He’s a huge Tupac fan, tell him to rap for you, it’s pretty sick!
Side note: it’s been his dream of 40 years to try a bottle of Hennessy… I am working on sending him some but if for some reason you do book him, kindly bring him a bottle of henny and I promise he will be the most grateful person ever !! Tell him you got the tip from “James and Vanessa in LA”

Travel Visiting home after 8 years, w/ family. Need recs. sights? food? Fishing adventures? Resorts?
Bula!
I am going to be visiting the motherland with my family in a few months. I was born in Fiji but live in the U.S. currently!
I haven’t been back home in a significant amount of time and will be visiting with family soon. We have lots of family all over on both of the main islands, so we’ll be kind of everywhere, I think.
I am a chef professionally in the U.S. and love cooking seafood specifically. A part of my mission is definitely to try lots of seafood and hopefully try and figure out some “O.G” Fiji restaurants and foods. I’ve tried a lot of the classics, Kokonda, Lovo, Vakalolo, rourou, Palusami, fried Nathli (Natheli?) Palusami is a my absolute f*****g favorite. Coconut milk is my favorite.
I’d love to hear where you think I could try the best versions of these foods and also literally anything else you think I could enjoy with my family in the few weeks we are there.
Seeking
1. Food Recs, fave restaurants, stalls, curry houses.
2. Sights, beaches, waterfalls, resorts, hot springs.
3. Museums, excursions, lesser known things (I know dumb to ask that on Reddit but dm me maybe and I’ll make it worth your while????)
Would love to take my dad on a fishing charter.
4. Resorts? Have spent some time in Denarau and Nadi resorts but I am not sure if I enjoy it. If there’s a resort or all inclusive you’ve enjoyed I’d love to hear it! The scuba or underwater was always my favorite.
Thank you, please feel free to ask more questions or also apologies if this post is asking for too much?

Hello everyone,
I plan to travel to Australia with my children (under 18) as their mother, travelling from fiji on a holiday and was wondering if I needed to have a letter of consent from their father to travel. We are married and in a loving relationship but he is currently working in Australia and won’t be travelling with us.

Travel Sonaisali Island Hilton
Has anyone stayed here with an under four year-old and could tell me what the prices are for children for breakfast, lunch and dinner or if they eat free all day with a paying adult dining in? I can’t find anything on the website about this.
