Upgrade Advice Upgraded to Sync 3 for Car Play and now I have rear A/C, cooled seats and a heated steering wheel!

I recently bought a 2015 Explorer Sport but the rear a/c wasn't working. The price was good and I figured before buying that I could probably get the a/c fixed by replacing a fuse.

I later realised that I was missing on-screen buttons on the Sync 2, not only for the rear a/c, but also the cooled seats and heated steering that should have come with the trim.

I invested in the Sync 3 upgrade for Car Play but also asked the seller to programme (along with the VIN) the features that were missing. Just installed the screen (with some help from smaller hands) and all the features are now fully functional!

Perhaps the previous owner had the screen replaced from a lower trim after a malfunction with the original.

Next job is the 2nd drain and fill of the coolant and transmission fluid. I'll get Ford to service the PTU though. That one looks a bit tricky to do myself.

Buying Advice Fuel consumption - 2.3 XLT vs ST

Post image

Unfortunately I got in a head on collision in September where my 2023 XLT was totaled. Insurance is about to pay out. Can’t find any XLTs on the market where I live, but plenty of 2022/23 ST’s which I’d consider.
Just wondering how bad the ST fuel consumption is in comparison to the XLT 2.3 liter turbo engine? I know there’s the ford figures, but I’d like to know people’s real life experience with it. Thanks. (Tank mileage/km)

Buying Advice Needing advice om this explorer I'm looking to buy

I'm looking at a 2021 explorer platinum pretty much loaded. The thing is is has 113500 miles and they are asking $20,057 with fees included. It ticks off the boxes I wanted like light interior, heated and cooled seat etc but the high mileage is the only thing kinda making me wonder if it's a good fit and if the price is right.

It has one owner, regular maintenance records and no accidents.

If I do end up buying it what are the main things I should look at for this year that you guys have experience with?

Thanks

What do yall think.

Upgrade Advice Has anybody upgraded to the platinum speedometer cluster? I will be in a month or so

I'm excited. I have the two videos I know to watch on how to do it (one is from same person just to change mileage) but what I'm wondering is can you backup your asbuilt, then load it and then turn the things off you don't have? In the video it seems he has a 4cyl so I shouldn't have to do anything with that, but maybe look at your asbuilt data as well and see that the fuel gauge is at since that is another issue?
