To anyone looking for an apartment closer to campus or a cheaper place to live please stay very far away from University Pointe. The apartment manager there is extremely money hungry and refuses to provide permanent fixes for massive issues on the property such as plumbing and faulty electrical wiring for the heater. Multiple residents have complained about him as well because we've been getting charges for issues related to the structure of the building rather than actual overages. The windows and doorways let light and air through them because they are not properly sealed.
There is stillwater in my bathtub from three days ago and I have put in at least four separate maintenance requests because there are actual sewage backups from the children in my specific building putting things down their drains. There was a coolant leak and fan malfunction in my fridge which I had to wait to get fixed for a solid week while my food went bad. Meanwhile they were way too busy remodeling the office with solid marble countertops and floors to actually care about the issue.
Furthermore he has broken into my unit at least twice (I'm AFAB living alone with no children) claiming he needed to "inspect the source of a leak". When he went inside he started screaming at me for having hair dye stains. He never addressed the actual issue he claimed he was there for. He is extremely hostile and falsely accused me of putting beads and lotion down my drain. He has no evidence of me doing such a thing either. My neighbors also stated that he openly complained about the other previous tenant of my unit (who was another single woman with a child).
An old friend of mine had issues with a cleaning lady attempting to break into her unit as well on at least three separate occasions. During my first year there the maintenance guy let himself in the first time he came over and broke in on me completely naked. They do not care about the privacy of their residents. Another time another maintenance man attempted to break into my unit and left the door hanging open when they saw that I was home which I was very unsettled by. He proceeded to come in to "inspect a leak" just to mess with my shower curtain.

Hi! I am looking for someone to take over my 3 bed/3 bath room at The Hudson. There are two female roommates, but they are very nice and keep to themselves! Everything is furnished, and there is a gym, pool, tanning bed, and tennis court on the property; you get your own bedroom and bathroom.
Rent is $ 680 and utilities are about $ 40 per month. I will pay the subleasing fees and the first month of rent for you.
The unit will be available in the middle of December until July of 2027, which is when the lease ends. You will not be responsible for rent until February 1st.
If interested, please contact me and fill out an application at The Hudson, and we can work out the details from there!!

Just a reminder that early voting is going on and the voting machines will be at the Russell Union today and tommorow so you don't have to either go to the precinct or in downtown to vote.

Hi! I’m planning to apply to Georgia Southern University, and I’m a little worried about my chances of getting accepted.
I have a 3.2 unweighted GPA and an 890 SAT score.
I know my SAT score is a little below the typical range, so I’m wondering if I should retake it or if I might still have a chance of getting accepted with my current GPA and score.

Curious what sort of animals they have at the fair if you've been or are going? I heard they usually have exotic animals but so did effingham and there weren't any this time.

hi I’m looking to go here fall of 2027 and major in fashion merchandising but I have some questions if anyone would be willing to answer. Thank u!!!!!
- is the party culture actually as bad as people claim? Is there any sort of expectation to go out every night and is it something most people do?
- what dorm is the best overall/how do you find roommates?
- Is everything always fairly safe seeming around the area, in the dorms, and at bars?
- are most people nice or are ppl lowk evil?
thank u for any answers!!

Hi you all, I am planning to take non-major biology lab 1001L but a few people I talked with in the dorms told me this course is kind of hard to follow (especially the lab) and assignment heavy. Also heard it is taught by TA and I have had bad experiences (regarding grade) with TA in the past. How do you all sum up your experience regarding this particular lab?

I’m an alum that happens to live in Wexford, Ireland now so just curious if there is actually student sand faculty or anything that happens. Not a lot from the alumni group when you ask.

Hi everyone!
I’m graduating with my master’s degree from Georgia Southern University this semester and am looking to rent a commencement cap and gown, including the master’s hood, if possible.
I’m 5’11” and weigh around 200 lbs.
If anyone has graduation regalia that would fit me and is willing to rent it out, please let me know.
I’d also appreciate any suggestions on where I could rent one instead of purchasing a new set.
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a waitlist for the Spring 2027 nursing program? They denied a lot of people, but now they’ve opened the application back up. Does that mean there isn’t a waitlist, or could they still accept some of the people who were previously denied?
